    Another possible problem is being over-frozen. You can fix that by letting the pint sit out for 15 mins before processing! If you liked this video, you might like this one as well: ua-cam.com/users/shortsvZSdoK-w8Hk

    it's just too cold. let it sit out 10 minutes or so before spinning. and respin 1-3 times if needed. no need to dilute flavour or overfill with a liquid.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Рік тому +13

      That works too.... we're just talking maybe a tbsp of additional liquid at the most the though. You're right though. Too much and it will definitely dilute it.

    Good tips I came by this issue is to not fill up to the max, rather a little bit under the max and add liquid to the very top, my ones always turned out perfect after doing it

    I find sometimes that it may look crumbly but if you just push it down with a spoon it’s not crumbly at all. Respinning it unnecessarily makes it more melty for some reason for me, like it got heated up just a little…

      @JoesPhenomenal  Рік тому +4

      Yep. Agree! That can be the case a lot of times too where it's just in the surface a little. It's a bit of a judgement call sometimes. Great point, DarwishEG!

    Weird, I've never had to spin things multiple times. I take the containers out of the freezer about 10 minutes before I process them. Come out perfect every time.

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Рік тому

      Yep... Leaving them out for a bit will solve that most of the time... Ingredients play a part too... Lower fat stuff tends to do it a little more... and some people like myself run our freezers colder and that gets the mix a little too solid, too... Leaving it out helps with that one too.

    We use a paco jet at work n add a stabiliser called pro sorbet, or pro crème if it’s an ice cream, are you adding these at home with the ninja version?

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Рік тому

      I leave out the stabilizer for the creami stuff since we typically just go through it in one shot anyways. I do use eggs as an emulsifier though. However, when we do ice cream in the larger compressor based ice cream makers, I use guar gum... I should try the pro stuff you mentiioned though. Heard it works really great.

    Can this make or imitate the really flaky asian/Taiwanese style shaved ice? Like bingsu? I suppose you can freeze the ice really a lot and get an approximation?

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  6 місяців тому

      If you freeze it really hard and don't let it sit out, it will make it more granual, kinda like Dippin' Dots... But that I think is the closest it can get to that.

  • @ironmaidenfitness654
    @ironmaidenfitness654 11 місяців тому +1

    Just put it through the cycle for as many times as required e.g. 4. This way the flavor is not diluted

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  11 місяців тому

      I only put about a tbsp in so that doesn't happen.... or you can always let it sit out for about 15 mins, and it seems to take care of that too..... or you can do a few spins like ya said!

  • @natecannon2734
    @natecannon2734 Рік тому +2

    Thing is you shouldn’t have to do this. I remember the ice cream makers that just spin the ingredients in a bowl for half and hour or so and is real ice cream. I shouldn’t have to add more milk to the mixture

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  Рік тому

      You can avoid that if you let me know he pint sit out for about 15 mins or so... It had something to do with the freezer temperature I think. In any case I tend to have that happen a little more often since I don't use much fat in the mix. I agree with ya though.. It's a pain in the neck to even have to think about that but man... The results out of that machine are pretty amazing when it gets down to eatin'. I still use my compressor machine though for soft serve texture... Easy peazy with that thing.

    Everyone just stop it with this machine, get a food processor it does the exact same thing

    • @JoesPhenomenal
      @JoesPhenomenal  5 місяців тому

      Ironically, that's closer to what compressor stile machines do. The difference on those is that the paddle speed is much lower. You need a nice slow churn for a really creamy result. I still like the Ninja creami machines though. It's just different. A lot slower result than traditional ice cream makers, but the resulting texture of the ice cream end up really good. The crumbly thing you get out of those sometimes is pretty easy to correct in a couple of minutes. I hear ya though.. If you already have a food processor, you can get it done pretty decent without buying anything, and that's always nice.
