Mitch Green originally lived on 175th St & Anthony Ave and was in a small gang called the Black Warriors before joining the 18th division of the Black Spades in that area. Then he moved to 1760 Watson Ave in Bronxdale Projects, the home and 1st division of the Black Spades, one of the largest street gangs in NYC at the time. He also lived in Harlem for a time in the early 70's
“He is in bad condition” he is 67 this is how older black men talk. My father is 73 and he speaks better than this, but I will tell you, him boxing, having a bullet in him that can potentially cause lead poisoning, and hitting himself in the head with a bullet that exploded, he is talking very very well. God bless him!
@@nickatnite16 I said before his championship. Plus Tucker went the distance before he lost the belt. Razor went the distance after Tyson lost the belt in a rematch when Tyson won by tko the 1st time.

I know Mitch Green very well and there was a time even if he was rambling you understood what he was saying. He does have a solid story. There were lot of promising heavyweight amateur fighters in his time. Tim Witherspoon, Michael Dokes, Greg Page, Tony tubbs to name a few who were all world champions. He was the one that had great potential but when the streets called him he answered. Boxing and the streets never did and never will mix. The streets will eat you. The confrontation with Mike Tyson on 125th Street (in front of Dapper Dan's) is well documented but the end result was green taking Tyson and Don King to court and got a BS 45,000 settlement. He pretty much bit the hand that fed him (Don king) and he never got another significant fight after that. His team did not advise him right by not telling him to chill and be patient. They had the perfect promo for another fight based on what happened in the street confrontation. It's all good Mitch. We do what most men dare not do and or fear to do. 🥊
Not wanting important parts of popular history to speak because you can’t handle their speech impediment is being weak. Don’t listen he has a right to be heard
Sorry but I can't do it.. i was looking forward to hearing from this man but clearly this interview might be a few years too late.. blessings to Mitch Green im bailing and looking for some earlier takes..
It's very hard to see this man in this condition in his later life. Another example of how boxing can effect your life in later years. I would love to see Mitch Green come on Hotboxin podcast so he and Tyson can bury the hatchet. I'm sure Mike would be down for that.
His condition isn't because of boxing, it's from years of smoking dust. Mitch didn't have long career and didn't take any punishment to have speech like that
This guy fights pretty good. That Tyson fight he lasted all 12 rounds and was throwing good shots through out the fight. That street fight was something different but in the ring i think he held his own.
This is the Gang life will get you. Can barely speak, walking with a cane. Descent boxer, but the streets were calling him. Could have gone a lot further in life.
Sad to see him in this state BUT I don't believe it came primarily from boxing. Mitch had less than 30 fights and was never actually "knocked out". I'd bet there are other attributing factors...
Personally I think its way more then boxing.Mitch a hard dude who lived a hard life probably with no breaks just foot mashed on the gas the whole way!!He probably is his own worst nightmare.
There ya clowns go again blaming Vlad for everything he's helping this man out by getting his story out and I'm sure he has people in his life that would've stopped this interview from happening if it was detrimental to him
