Hi! I will try to upload clips of Connor's cyclethon daily so remember to subscribe to not miss out! I really want to hit that 1000 subs!
Gotchu 👌
@@kiituriidoing the work in translating it kinda makes it less scummy imo. Not gonna fault the hustle.
Is the subtitle done by you?
Toru: "Is British food good?"
Connor: Hesitant laugh, doesn't answer question
cause he knows it ain't healthy lmaoo
😂😂😂
@@jamesssdasds Its more that the common meme about England is that their food is shit
@@jamesssdasds I can't imagine being in Britan. It's not healthy food, and it doesn't taste good. OOF.
It's all just variations of browned beef and potatoes with no seasoning
pete lost a lot of weight, got a tan and switched to only speaking japanese, thats impressive
😂
What a dedicated man
Oh man he changed races, sure must have been tough.
He is a man of many talent.
@@ChrisG_90 Some considered...unnatural
Then I guess you could say his a "Toru Guide"
eyyy I see what you did there lmaoo 🤣🤣
*ba dum tss
ouuuut
take your like and GET OUT
ace attorney ass name
Toru Gaido
If Toru talked to Chris first, he would had met MrBeast
Mista Beasto!
For someone who says he slacks in his Japanese studies, I'm truly amazed at how far Connor has come with his Japanese!
people usually point out that he's just saying words and just letting japanese people piece it together but to be able to decently mouth out the words and have the guy understand what you want to say is clearly showing better results than not being able to use it at all
He learns in the best way possible for a new language - through actual interactions with Japanese people every day
Not to be harsh but it's very difficult to judge someone's language ability when you don't speak it so any level at all appears impressive. This is why you see all those UA-cam polyglots that claim to speak 30 languages when in reality they know maybe a few hundred words in each and can struggle to get by, but to outsiders it looks like they're fluent because they can't tell all the mistakes and have no idea what they're saying. I don't want to take anything away from Connors Japanese level and this is nothing against him, but he's still very much in the beginner stages. He's either just started learning or he hasn't put much time into learning, with dedicated study anyone could reach this level in a few months. He can't make complex sentences and have an in depth conversation based on this video. If you notice Toru has to adapt his Japanese heavily to communicate with him, using just short words or short sentences to give Connor a chance of understanding. That's to say I have no idea about Connors reading/writing ability. I'm sure it's much higher than his speaking although it's tricky with Japanese because you have to memorize Kanji.
Very ironic with Pete who living in Japan for 14 years
@@rebyricks3550 he's saying full sentences most of the time. I understand him well. He's not bad at japanese
I love the subtitles “all trips, charity, money, viewers money.. charity” makes connors japanese Seem Hella broken😂
cus it is, he's kinda speaking in a broken japanese sometimes.
good enough for normal conversation.
It is.
That part specifically was pretty broken lol
@@sandenson seems you are fluent then.
Toru, the third party member today... it may have only been 30 min, but he's forever in our hearts 🫡
The kindness and respect of Japanese people never fails to amaze me.
Thank you, Japanese cyclist, for guiding Connor around and being such an awesome guy!
Ikr? People say that japanese dont really like foreigners but if you are respectful, they will also give respect
@@sand3514 I don't think Japanese people mind foreigners, but can't stand the ones who are disrespectful, rude, and don't make even the slightest effort to understand right and wrongs in Japan.
And frankly, I hate that kind of person too, you don't need to be Japanese to realise how obnoxious that kind of behaviour is, as it happens all over the world.
I'm not Japanese, I can't really speak on their behalf, so hopefully someone who knows more can comment and inform us.
Sometimes Japanese people may come across as cold and maybe uncaring, but I think it's because they are typically quiet and keep to themselves. This is a stereotype though, as generally they are friendly when approached, polite (this is ingrained in the society, and I love this) and in my own experience, will go out of the way to help you.
I guess I like that way of living(?), as I'm kinda awkward, but really friendly, so I'm more than happy when people actually want to talk to me, haha.
The one who is cold the genuine ones. The one who is kind is mostly fakes. Politeness is just persona to maintain the public image, especially to foreigners. They mostly rude, closeted, and selfish.
being friendly = kind
1 person = all japanese
😂😂😂🤦🤦🤦
I am amazed this gentleman helped out and rode along the way with Connor and Chris. Normally, I wouldn't enjoy random rudely inserted themselves into someone's stream for personal gain but this time, it's different. I am so glad they had a great time.
1:56 He's like "WTF???? I just casually met celebrities!!!". Connor raising 360k is impressive as hell tho.
here after they reached 1 mil 🫡 cdawg more like cGOAT
What a kind hearted curious guy. Random positive interactions like this are what its all about (besides the money of course).
Toru san was the guest today!! ❤ 👊
Connor Saying his Username while speaking in Japanese is so godly
See-doggu
Imagine beeing Toru and seeing yourself in a UA-cam Video with 40k videos after going on a nice bikeride on the weekend
2:30 RIP GoPro
Correct me if I'm wrong but i do believe he is the same guy @robcdee met during his own cycleothon in 2023 when he went from tokyo to seoul, korea, then back to tokyo.
edit: i reviewed it. my mistake. the one Rob met was Taro on day 14, this guy is Toru, same estimated age. hahaha
that was taro, different people
He's great lad.He made last kilometers fun
i will join chat as well
WE LOVE YOU TORU-SAMA!
this guy was amazing today, thank you Toru san!
Toru was great, what a cool dude
Toru-san will now be legend. Watching this past couple of days I am amazed at how friendly people are in the region, they really live up to their reputation.
Saw this bit live, very wholesome fella. Highlight of the stream
Connor flexing lmao
Giga Chad Toru-san! Very wholesome interaction, such an amazing guy
toru was so good today
I like how after Toru we got a guy who looks like Jesus and then Pete waiting for them on the stairs. There are more clips for the night stream I'm pretty sure including those who wrestle during dinner lol.
That was so refreshing
Toru is so nice and love how he stick around and have fun with the bois
What a lovely interaction with a really nice dude. Cool to see :)
“Kind” and “Japanese” Go hand in hand, like ice and water on a hot day. I’ve had my own personal experiences. I hope they never change.
MISTA BEASTO
200 million subscribers desu.
So the 4h charity stream should have them take Toru to England. They can go from Scotland down to Cornwall.
Thanks for the subtitles! The official ConnorClips channel doesn't have subtitles which makes it difficult to follow.
Watched this live. Toru was such a nice guy
Im sure this is such a fun time for Toru as well. Thank you for Connor and team for making this happened.
Imagine if felix was still cycling and he heard his sub count, wonder what reaction he would have
Based Toru, the best type of person to meet during your travels, and this case, a stream
People who ride bikes as a hobby are insane. I have 2 guys at workplace that love to bike, one in his 40s and one in his late 60s. Bro they tell they go on 8+ hour rides. They use to do 100km now they judt go 200Km no problem
As someone that workout those kind of cardio workouts are so difficult since its all about endurance. Always have respect for those who are able to do that stuff for hours without stopping.
I would never LOL
@@EnhancedTrashBin they do stop, they cant go forever, need to "refuel" basically eat and drink before continuing
Toru the mvp on the trip
First special guest announced for Cyclethon 4 should be Toru lol
What a wholesome guy 🥹
Watched this life and wondered what they were saying, so this is awesome, thanks!
Such a likeable dude. Get him to be your trainer up to the next tour :D
Damn, he's Nihongo joju desu ne?
chat's love of toru was so cute
This guy needs to setup his own cycling cam!
That was so damn wholesome goddamn, i envy this interpersonal skill
Bro is a speed demon wtf
dang theyre already at osaka?! i only just finished watching day 1 of the vod
He got that peak performance. Caked up like Chris Broad but none of the 90kgs
wholesome and nice.
Chad. How nice.
Toru is the man.
BRING US TORU SAN!!
you can say he's a "Touru" guide
Toru the 🐐
Toru the Tour Guide
"Why?" 💀
TORU GOAT
Watching a british person in sub lol
How is this already uploaded, the stream is stil on!
I'm proud of connor Pete for raising money for idf❤
Cycling community prolly has some weird type of Connection that connects them even though language barrier and cultural differences exist
Lost the chance to put "Toru Guide" or "gaido", daaaamn.
Knee Hongo Joe Zu
hello toru!
if you read this, you're amazing!
Did you do all the subtitles?
he true assimilated
0:29 Is "Yabai" is roughly "crazy"?
kind of yeah
If translated literally it means dangerous, but it’s pretty flexible
Its kinda a weird word to translate cuz it ranges from 'damn' to 'oh fuck' to 'thats awesome' or 'crazy'
Its basically a one word does all that everyone should use
Yea, it's one of those words that can have different meanings depending on tone and context.
He looks like junieboy
W toru
in cdawgvod channel, which part is this toru guy in?? is it day 1 or day 2?
day 7
I always get quite surprised that Chris seems to let Connor take the lead in Japanese conversations. It does make me wonder if Connor's conversational Japanese is better?
Think it was just cause he was speaking to Connor mostly, and Connor probably seems more approachable.
Why people always say fish and chips every time, having been to the UK 4 times now the food there is not bad at all, i never had fish and chips either, Connor have some damn pride in your Country.
I guess because it's the most recognisable dish from the UK and is a very safe answer. It's the same as saying sushi and ramen when people ask about food from Japan.
Being there 4 times isn’t the same as living there for 15 years.
Connor just embraces memes. It’s all good. Fish and chips was always just a cheap way to feed a family and it became romanticised by foreigners. But thank you for acknowledging we do have some good food, I think we do too.
TORU THE GOAT!
Ive noticed that almost all English native speakers just repeat themselves over and over (according to the subtitles) whereas the native speakers just say what they mean. "Right now we are streaming. Streaming." Lmao. "of course, of course" "30000 viewers, 30000 viewers". It's like they can't just say it once lol. Xiaomanyc, my favorite in this space, is almost constantly stuttering the same words over and over even in Chinese which he is very fluent in.
That’s probably because they want to get the pronunciation right so the first one they aren’t happy with or are unsure whether they got the point across so they repeat it.
Xiaoma actually has a stuttering problem I’m pretty sure not just the language learning causing that haha
Japanese people speaking English are often like that too. You repeat when you use a non-native language to make sure you got your point across
I think it’s a bad habit for non-native language learner. You gotta just say it once and observe their reaction to decide whether you should say it again
@@ryana5435 I see it the same as "uh" and "um". Silence and spacing is okay
