- Minister Michael Gove was put on the spot by Hugo Keith KC, a counsel to the Covid inquiry, for failing to answer his questions.
The veteran Conservative politician was Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and at the head of the Cabinet Office when the pandemic struck the UK in early 2020.

The decision to lockdown is a political decision and one for the government after weighing up the scientific evidence presented to them and the names of the Scientists on SAGE are a matter of public record!

Gove was employing his media training in an inappropriate setting. Politicians are taught to use every opportunity to pump out the message of the day. After doing that they throw up a smokescreen to deflect questions during the time left for the interview, which in his case means riding his hobby horse.

Pause and ask, what is the purpose of all these enquiries. I have not seen any action or tangible benefit to the nation. No lessons are learnt and the politicians continue to do as they please.

@@colinb8103 There are major differences between these two people. One is an under-educated cocaine addict, the other is an intelligent, educated ADULT, who has a responsible job to carry out.
I think it's a cultivated "habit" to give the sense that he is listening and you have his undivided attention. It's quite an effective psychological trick.
