Pest Control: Caterpillar destroying Basil leaves

Without the use of insecticides or pesticides in my organic backyard garden, how should one control pests like caterpillars that eat your leaves? Differently from aphids and spidermites, caterpillars are not hard to deal with.

OMG! We can’t even kill a few caterpillars anymore!? You realise they will metamorph into butterflies or moths that will fly from the front-yard back onto your plants right!? GEEZZZUS!!

FYI, caterpillars do not lay eggs.
