Absolutely gorgeous blouses, can't pick a favourite as you all suit the ones you've made! I do love the style of the Marie Blouse and I'm thinking of giving that one a go. Thanks for sharing ladies, lovely to see you all together ❤
Wow, you all look amazing, the shirts are all so different, but suit you all so well. The fabric from cloth edit was amazing...rachel's fabric was very different and lovely, Ruan's blouse wa great as well even though she has reserves about it. And a blouse and jeans, so totally you Tamlyn. Enjoyed this peek. Thanks
Fabulous blouses in fabulous fabric you all look stunning in them.nice to know that I am not the only one who gets confused with some sewing instructions
Beautiful beautiful blouses. You all look very lovely and the fabrics you chose are spot on!!! I love a beautiful blouse and really need to start making more. Always enjoy your videos 👗🧵🪡🥰
Ah girls you all look fabulous. Ruan your blouse fits lovely, I even like that short length on you. Three completely different blouses but three stunning examples. ♥️. Off to look for some cotton voile.
I agree about Cloth Edit fabrics. I got the Cloth Edit subscription box with the Japanese cotton and it is so beautiful, really soft and the texture to the fabric makes it very special. It gets softer and softer as you wash it. I would never have ordered it off the website, but immediately ordered the yellow floral when my box arrived as it is so unique.
Just loved your blouses ladies! The fabric you all chose is fab. I have the Norma and Marie on my list to sew and can’t wait to get started now. Though I’m a little intimidated by the time it took you to sew the pintucks Rachel 😳 I agree Tamlyn, I definitely find Sew Over It patterns always have a crazy amount of fabric listed on the pattern which just isn’t needed. I’ve started looking at the pattern layouts on any pattern now, before I buy fabric, to see if it’s cut on the flat or on the fold. Those on the fold I always manage to cut out the pattern using less fabric. Those on the flat, the requirements seem more accurate. I’m from Yorkshire, I’m frugal like that! 😄
Three different blouses - all lovely and you look fabulous in them. The fabrics are beautiful and suit the pattern choices. Rachel’s blouse looks so floaty and comfortable. I had the same issue with my Norma blouse turning out way too short and I lengthened it second time around and it is still not that long! I do like the pattern though and will definitely make another! I ended up writing on my pattern pieces too Ruan😃
W"OW!!!!! All of you look gorgeous and the fabrics are beautiful. Your picks from Gabrielle are wonderful and are just the right look on each of you. Each fabric is exquisite, and the pattern is perfect for the design of the blouses you choose. I wish I could have such good friends like you three of you, that would love to sew with me, be my "sewl" sister and my friend. Take care, have a good day and be safe. I love watching all of your videos, they bring me so much enjoyment, 😀❤🌹
I am Australian and live in Aus. and recently bought a remnant of your fabric Ruan! I was eyeing it off for several trips to the particular shop and finally bought it. It’s only 55cm long though, so it’s not large enough for a blouse. I regularly sew French seams with only 1cm-wide seam allowance! I do it for all my blouses and cotton shirts, as well as more slinky fabrics.
All look beautiful - I think you all have picked colours and styles which really suit you. I also really liked Rachel's blouse when we saw the photos at the end - the pattern has such a beautiful swing - not too much but very flattering for all figures. Ruann's blouse still looked lovely on her despite her reservations. So nice to hear all your comments and see you all wearing your makes. Awesome !
Ooooh I love all your blouses. You all inspired me to sew a blouse for April (the SOI Zadie) with Pigeon Wishes fabric and buttons. I didn't finish in time to enter the competition (you know life and all got in the way) but I'm going to complete it this weekend and wear it out to a girl's night next Friday. SOI do tend to overestimate their fabric requirements. I thought I read somewhere that this is due to incorporating directional fabric e.g. rather than saying you may need more for directional fabric (as most companies do), their take is you will need less for non-directional fabric. Only when I went on their website I couldn't find this written anywhere, so I could have imagined it 🙂
Such lovely makes! Gabrielle’s fabrics are gorgeous, and it is great to see them in «real life» so to speak. Wonderful pictures at the end, too. You look like magazine models!
😍😍😍. Beautiful blouses all! I love seeing new to me patterns and how they look on a real person especially when you talk through the adjustments you made and why. Lovely ladies. ❤
Absolutely love seeing your makes up close. Each fabric suite’s your pattern choices. Loved hearing your tips and advice on each pattern. Thanks for sharing 💚💐🥂
A great selection of patterns and fabrics, lovely makes and honest reviews. 3 very talented ladies with beautiful blouses, it’s reassuring to hear that even then there were challenges during the process, thank you.
These all turned out so beautifully. I love that you all chose such different fabrics and blouses and it was so interesting hearing the different pattern reviews. ❤
Beautiful blouses, all three! It’s so much fun to watch you guys together. I’m old school, and I tend to always do thread tailor tacks for marking pleats and darts!
Love all three blouses - You all look stunning in them! And I truly appreciate the honest thoughts on the patterns, the instructions, etc. Another great video! 💞
I just came upon you girls for the first time....I loved this episode. I have a group of sewing friends here in the US who will also like seeing your blouses and hearing about your sewing adventures. Thanks for posting this!
All look beautiful. Ruan, on your next blouse take a small dart in the middle of the v neck tapering to nothing at the armhole same on facing this will fix the gaping, I have to do this on all patterns its a slight hollow chest fix
I could see myself in all three blouses, but I am lusting over Rachel's in that fabric 😻 (I still think Ruan's blouse would look fab with pink buttons 😅)
Hy girls 👍I made the Xanthe dress and the top on the pattern is all zig zag to get the pintucks and it says with right side facing fold the pintucks to the inside and I thought how the hell do I do that but what it meant was the centre of the front seam 🤷and although I’ve made it two more times and it looks lovely I’m sure I haven’t done it right and the tutorial is so fast it’s ridiculous done with blue cotton on blue fabric so no help at all but I love the dress so hey ho (well done Rachel) xxx
Amazing video! The Norma blouse is on my to make list - basically copying one Lauren Guthrie has made. Good tips from Ruan on it. I also love Rachel and Tamlyns makes, loving blouses these days!
Thanks ladies for inspiring me to make a blouse - I usually use stretch fabrics rather than wovens. Gorgeous choices of patterns and fabrics. Loving your joint vlogs as northernsewlsisters. 😊
I made a wrap skirt by Sew Over It a couple months ago, and I also used waaaaay less fabric than called for! It's interesting to know that it's not just me.
I made the Lilian the other day, it looks nice and fits nice, I just wish i hadn’t made it in cotton poplin as it feels stiff 😅. I will try voile next time.
Ah Ruan what a shame about your blouse 😢 would it help to put a couple if side splits near the hips and perhaps if you had any left over material you could add a hem ruffle to extend the length? Xx. All of your blouses are gorgeous ladies xx
Do you use a manniquin. RedThreaded has an excellent tutorial on how to choose a mannequin and pad it out to match your measurements. I think you will have better success in fitting a pattern to your body
Wow - three beautiful blouses. I love all of these. So inspirational. Thank you.❤
Ladies, you all look beautiful! Love all the different blouses.
💖 all the blouses. The fabrics are all so lovely.
Loved this you look fabulous, ladies. Shots at end brilliant. Loved all the fabrics and styles 👏👏👏

All the blouses and patterns are lovely and suit each of you! Now about quilting being boring ... I have to get back to the top I'm working on!

Yes I do the same thing. Tuck about 3/8" out of the neckline on the pattern, and tapers to nothing at the armhole. It pulls in the neckline on me.
Thanks for the tip! 😊
All 3 blouses are gorgeous thank you for sharing. Sew over it do state they base their fabric requirements on directional prints 😊
I could see myself in all three blouses, but I am lusting over Rachel's in that fabric 😻 (I still think Ruan's blouse would look fab with pink buttons 😅)
Love all your blouses.. You are all so very talented.. Great job.. I can honestly say I don't have a favourite.. I want to make all of them
Beautiful ladies and beautiful blouses! You all have inspired me!
The fabrics are beautiful!

Beautiful blouses ladies, good to hear how you all got on with them. Unfortunately I ran out of time to join in with the challenge 😔. Xx
I made a wrap skirt by Sew Over It a couple months ago, and I also used waaaaay less fabric than called for! It's interesting to know that it's not just me.
You all look lovely and did a great job!! Tamlin, do you think the fabric allowance was for large prints to allow for matching the patterns?
I made the Lilian the other day, it looks nice and fits nice, I just wish i hadn’t made it in cotton poplin as it feels stiff 😅. I will try voile next time.
👌👌👌💖💖💖🤗😘

😃🇨🇦
Do you use a manniquin. RedThreaded has an excellent tutorial on how to choose a mannequin and pad it out to match your measurements. I think you will have better success in fitting a pattern to your body
xXX👍👍👍
It would have been useful to show the line drawings of the patterns.
We do put the link for each pattern in the description box if you want to look any further at the patterns we discuss 😊
Ruann, Maybe measure your body then you can always measure the pattern to see how much you want to add.
