    The land is indeed the foundation upon which we hang our many memories. Your many memories (and perhaps your greatest regret) is anchored to the permanence of a landscape of immense beauty. Your tears and emotion honour your cherished memories.
    Thank you for sharing those sentiment. It in turn triggers our own cascade of memories and deep felt connection to where it took place. The spirits from the past are with us, in us. We are their present. The land is the fabric upon which it all plays out.
    Blessings to you and yours.

    Really enjoyed the video and your words of wisdom Dave , new subscriber here and wow, can see why you Yorkshire folk call it God’s own country . When you are rooted in it and with all those childhood memories , it’s no wonder it gets you a little bit emotional ( and that’s not hard to understand but hard to put into words !)I think I’d be bawling my eyes out and have to stop the flippin bike ! The part of the world I grew up in ( South Glos) has it’s own rural charm ( where it’s not been blighted by the seemingly relentless spread of urbanisation ) and using my trusty little meteor ,I love to retrace some of the bicycle rides I used to take with my dad over sixty year ago .Gives me a similar feeling .I own a much bigger bike but just pootling around those little lanes and back roads gives me equal if not more pleasure. Glad to see you keeping to a sensible speed on those muddy tracks !

    My old stomping ground. I used to sell in agriculture, attend all the dales livestock auctions on a weekly rota all year round. You cannot tire of the landscape, nor can your heart be unaffected by its beauty. Thank you BW.

    What a fantastic view! That deserves to be captured in oils - unfortunately, I can barely paint a skirting board, but anyone with any artistic talents would definitely be inspired there. Keep up the "Slow TV" footage round the lanes - very relaxing.

    Congratulations, Dave! This video comes the closest (by far) of capturing what it's like to ride the Classic 350, and I've watched innumerable videos about, and recorded aboard, the Classic 350. I recognized so much of the experience (not the beautiful landscape, but the riding experience) that it was kind of eerie. I knew exactly what was going on at every juncture, every opening and closing of the throttle, and every corner, etc. Superb job, my friend! Thank you for the video!

    Wisdom may not come with age Dave.....but I've found that emotion most certainly has.......for me at least! I only need to see a stunning sunset to make me feel somewhat melancholic as a 60 year old. Hey, I've been almost moved to tears at some |I've seen over my little slice of N. Yorks!! Let's face it, you and I have seen more sunsets than we have sunsets left to see. Nowt wrong with emotion Dave......nowt at all!
    Another one beautifully done. Go steady bruv.

    Hi Dave, you are right, Mother Earth can be more than impressing. But it depends where you live. Here in my area below the Ruhrgebiet there are too many houses, factories etc. But when you drive/ride out it gets better. But we have lost most of these wonderfull views, due to changing world. But as I got older, I realized we lost a lot of wonderful views here. So send nice view.
    Emotions, yes we need them, but I think it is a benefit of age. When you are young, you think you do not need that. But head up, next months is winter sun turn.

    The anniversary of my mother's passing is imminent.......she went to soon.......way, way too soon.
    Thank you for giving my memory pot a good stir and bringing the happy ones back to the top.
    God bless...........and keep the shiny side up.

      @@thebingleywheeler 😂 and your modest too 😂 I have the same colour classic as you but had a little accident when the front wheel came from underneath me due to moisture and unseen mud on the road. Bikes in the shop having the forks straightened and break pedal and lever replaced and I’m nursing bruisings and cracked ribs along with damaged pride. Came back to biking a few years ago butter only in summer sunshine days. Loved riding the Enfield so much I ignored the winter coming in and made a rookie mistake I feel! Just need to get my confidence back and your videos certainly help! My children bought me a 4K tv and the picture quality on you wonderful video was excellent! Mr wheeler I recently had 8 exhaust studs on my Kawasaki. The shop tried to charge me £200.
    I gid him £150 n told him go forth….
    Then he phoned me think they are loose. Check um. Only took it in cos my back has gone. Cheaper to trade in. Ps keep it up lad. ❤

    • @maskedavenger2578
      @maskedavenger2578 2 місяці тому +1

      You can have absolute bastard of a job replacing exhaust studs , especially if they are knackered , seized or snapped off flush in head . Hours can be spent alone just sorting out one awkward stud in a limited accessible space . A lot of dealers charge over 200 just for an oil change & a once over with an oily rag these days , 200 quid sounds cheap for messing about with 8 exhaust studs in comparison .

    • @maskedavenger2578
      @maskedavenger2578 2 місяці тому +2

      @@martinlye7111 I agree but that’s the way things are now . The days of sensible reasonable pricing have been & gone . That’s why I have learned to do my own servicing & repairs over 50 years ago . From experience there is usually at least one fastener on a motorcycle or any vehicle , which will be a bastard to free or will damage threads or snap off . The worse culprits usually being exhaust studs or bolts in 4 cylinder Japanese cylinder heads . You aren’t the only one with a bad back , me too , but it’s a case of work through the pain or be prepared to get ripped off . 👍
