emma!!! i was journalling this morning as a way to try and create a calm headspace to tackle some big school projects today and you posted this video right as i was writing what i was grateful for!! (you definitely made that list now that i have a study vlog to watch during my breaks teehee) love love love this, sending good vibes your way
I'm writing my bachelorpaper right now (well, procrastinating writing it) and seeing Emma being productive makes her a very calming presence on the one hand, and is stressing me the hell out on the other.
I've been watching UA-cam videos for years but I swear yours always make me feel so calm and whenever you post my brain's like: heyy here's our serotonin 🤣
You know, it would be quite interesting to read some of your selected essays - especially the ones you are most proud of. I would buy them if they were published:)
I totally get you on the font of the book being important and impacting the reading experience. The 1st edition of David Copperfield I borrowed from the library had such a tiny font, and the text was squished together that it made me nervous. I had to beg my librarians to find me another edition, and they gave me a slightly better one. Also I have eye problems which makes reading small font even worse.
perfect timing with this vlog because i'm studying for my dutch language exam (I have been learning Dutch for like 4 years now and it's had its ups and downs even though i normally love learning languages) so I needed this for a bit of motivation💕
Oooo have you read Eartheater by Dolores Reyes? It’s an Argentinian novel about a girl who eats earth in order to connect with people who’ve died. So people come to her for help, but she’s also ostracized as a witch in her small community. It honestly wasn’t a favorite of mine, but I still liked it and it goes so closely into what you’re writing about.
Emma!! I read this book called Eartheater by Dolores Reyes in which the main character sounds like she was based on Rebecca but I haven’t read Marquez yet so I never made that connection. In any case, although it wasn’t my fave, I thought you might be interested given it’s relevance to your essay. Lots of love❤️❤️
Once you aren’t drowning in lit work and book club readings, you should definitely pick up Angela Carter’s Nights at the Circus. I’m loving it right now and want to hear you talk about it since I know you enjoy The Bloody Chamber
To be concise, think twice. I've spent a lifetime of writing learning to be concise in phrasing, which means reducing what I want to say to basics. You're doing fine, Emma. That it's hard to write short means you're seeing the problem all to many rush past.
Thank you for this soothing video just short enough to fit between two things in my agenda ❤️ It gave me just enough of a kick of dopamine for me to start the next thing on the to do list.
Watching emmie’s videos makes me want to take some lit classes again. When I first got into college I started taking lit classes + drama classes and I loved all my lit classes 💙 discussing ideas with professors was always fun (if they actually cared about the content of the book, because there’s always a black sheep among them hehe). I am now an ER nurse.. quite a drastic change but I’m definitely looking for another career since working as a nurse will literally take off years of your life and I, at least, want to reach 60 😂 anyways, I’m rambling. Love your blogs that’s basically what I wanted to say haha
another marquez i think you would really enjoy is autumn of the patriarch. recently read it for my comparative lit course and its a masterclass in writing
Women as tombs is such a scary topic. I remember reading an old short epic poem about construction of a medieval town when they literally burried a young woman alive inside the wall (among the stones and bricks) as some kind of sacrifice. It was horrible. In Serbian it is called "Zidanje Skadra" ("Building the Skadar" would be a rough translation).
I finished David Copperfield today and it did get me a little emotional at the end, but overall...let's just say it does not make me wanna pick up another Dickens soon.
I love a study vlog 😊 I have only one more thing to write for school myself, but there are like three or four textbooks that I read massive chunks of and want to finish even though the courses are all done (because the material is extremely interesting) so most of the rest of my month outside of Game of Tomes is going to be a bunch more depressing reading about the historical memory of super culturally traumatic events in Eastern Europe and some more fun essays about the experience of Canadian women and girls in the Second World War - it's sort of school work but I don't have to write anything about it anymore so I'm happy
Hi, Emma! I love your cozy videos! And I’m so excited you read so much Latin American lit ❤ have you thought about reading Elena Garro? I always recommend it to you lol. Also I recommend so much Annie Ernaux’s Happening 🥰 I’m glad you’re being so productive and I hope you have amazingly happy days!! Xo
Emma Hi! I love your videos and vlogs! I never comment but I couldn’t help when you talked about wanting to write about buried women haha, or as tombs and graveyards, it reminded me of a book a read in high school called “La amortajada” or “the shrouded woman” in English, I remember it was about the feelings and thoughts of a woman in her tomb, if I recall correctly, I read it years ago when I was like fourteen, didn’t understand much, but I think it could be a cool recommendation! Obviously if you hadn’t already read it, I hope you keep doing well! And thank you for another relaxing vlog! (I’m sorry if my grammar and vocabulary are a little strange I’m still learning English)
Hey Emma, I'm halfway through "Season of Migration to the North" and I'm absolutely loving it, thank you so much for recommending it! I wanted to suggest some books for you around the world challenge from my country, Macedonia: Pirey by Petre M. Andreevski and the play "Wild Flesh" by Goran Stefanovski (that might be my favorite Macedonian work). I'm planning on reading more Macedonian novels so hopefully I'll leave another comment in the future when I have more recommendations
I’m struggling to find sources for one of my research essays, and the annotated bibliography is dude tomorrow. I’m doing it on Paganism in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, and I have like three sources total if I include the poem but I need 5 academic sources AT LEAST.
Hi emmie good morning happy Tuesday morning and I hope you having amazing weekend and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
Hi Emma! I'm a Hispanic Literature student and I love when you talk about Hispanic literature, I hope you enjoy ''100 years of solitude'' and ''The president''; I recommend you ''Aura'' by Carlos Fuentes, it's a masterpiece not only for the story but also because his writing (sorry for my grammar)
heyy!! i was just reading Jane Eyer and your video s notification bomb on my screen, i want to know who is the writer of the book that appears on the video " women in literature"? thank youu
Hi! If it is tougher to write the introduction, I suggest you write everything else first and then come back to it. Ideas and their development don't come to us "chronologically". No one needs to know. 🤫
I have an odd (and seasonally inappropriate) request: I want to give the children in my family a book for Christmas each year. I'm trying to make the definitive list of what is the best Christmas themed book to give for each year of life. (For instance, book #1 is Twas the Night Before Christmas.) Any suggestions?
That's a cool idea. I'm also trying to read a christmas novel every christmas. Here's a list of novels I found so far, mainly some classics. You check if it'll suit the kids and decide. Hope it'll help. A Christmas carol -Charles Dickens How the Grinch Stole Christmas - Dr. Seuss The Gift of the Magi - O. Henry The Polar Express - Chris Van Allsburg The Christmas box - Richard Paul Evans
Be aware, as you likely already are, that Honoré Balzac wrote a wonderful essay on coffee, which he apparently kinda abused ... Table tennis, ping pong, try an Asian grip. It's a revelation. No turning of the paddle needed.
have loved going back and watching your videos while recovering from getting my wisdom teeth removed (and reading dance dance dance 🏨) to take my mind off of having to eat like a baby lol
I should be studying but instead I’m watching someone else being productive 😌
Truly a classic predicament - best of luck with your studying regardless ☺️

Glad someone is being productive today...
Certainly isn't me😂
Felt this
I'm writing my bachelorpaper right now (well, procrastinating writing it) and seeing Emma being productive makes her a very calming presence on the one hand, and is stressing me the hell out on the other.
a study vlog by you was all I needed rn! i'm finally having a good day after some time. love u sm emma, keep up the good work
I love your study vlogs and I definitely need some motivation myself which I am sure this vlog will deliver. Thanks emma!🪻
I've been watching UA-cam videos for years but I swear yours always make me feel so calm and whenever you post my brain's like: heyy here's our serotonin 🤣
I was having a bad morning so seeing an upload from Emma really made me feel better. Thank you, Emma ♥️

i hope you're having a great day emma!
you are helping me get through my grad school finals with your videos

Heavy raining, a cup of tea and your new vlog 🥰 What a lovely sunday afternoon! Thank you, Emma!
Thank you for uploading the video again today. It's always comfortable and warm when you see it💕
I love the student vlogs!!! Perfect way to reflect on how lucky I am to be allowed to study something I love and am passionate about ❤

I'm literally so interested in what you have to say about the two women you're comparing in your essay, wish I could read that, sounds facinating 🥺
The President, such an amazing book!
High school 때, 하루에 three hours만 자고 studying하던 때가 그립다. 😊
I finished David Copperfield today and it did get me a little emotional at the end, but overall...let's just say it does not make me wanna pick up another Dickens soon.
Emmie! Merchants of nations is amazing! Underrated but maybe that's a good thing, anyway, stories are stories, love you emma! 😖
Best of luck with your thesis! You go, girl!

Our erudite and beautiful hostess knows how to be productive.
Emma, look up GOOFER DUST & quick lime used on graves. Might be something to incorporate.
Wow, what an awesome parallel in 100 Years and The President! I wanna read your essay now, tbh. 😂
Woohoo!!! Another video
Good luck on your essays, Emma! Oh! I love the ping-pong! 😅

how long do you read 200 pages book?
Excellent 👍
Yea font and formatting that is not easy on the eyes is a major issue with some books. Publishers really need to be more careful about that.
