You did a wonderful job demonstrating this technique--I love how you finished this-thanks--I did a lot of blank stamping--now I am looking at videos on how to finish these projects--

@Emacreativa I have been trying to reply to your comment and it keeps failing... hopefully this works.
Vintaj Patinas are opaque inks specially formulated by Ranger to adhere to metal. They are permanent once dry on our metal, however for added durability you can apply a thin layer of our Glaze or Matte Glaze if you prefer. I typically just apply patina without a sealer and love the results! They create beautiful and durable patina effects, and easily clean up with water, are fast drying, satin finish, no acids and UV safe. The Patinas will colorize Vintaj natural brass, artisan copper, artisan pewter, vogue solid brass, and arte metal findings and filigree (as well as other metals) for gorgeous jewelry and crafting projects.Currently available in a palette of 25 hues and 4 metallics, the Patinas can be blended and layered to create endless patina effects. Mix with Glaze to work as an extender and create a color wash. Hope this helps! Happy Designing :)

I bought some vintaj patinas, but I have a doubt: do patinas need a protective varnish or not? thanks!

I just purchased several DecoEmboss and DecoEtch dies. The DecoEmboss work fine, as do embossing folders, but my DecoEtch folders are not leaving very good impressions. You can barely see the detail, which is odd, because I've done it before with no issue. I'm only using Vintaj brand blanks, as I know they are designed for the machine. Am I doing something wrong? I at first thought it was because my plate is slightly warped, but then I used a brand new plate, same issue. I just don't understand why my impressions aren't as vivid as they were the first few times I used my machine.

Hi Jennifer! The only thing I can think of is if you are using the Vintaj Arte Metal blanks, which are a much harder metal content than our Natural Brass, Artisan Copper, and Artisan Pewter. The Arte Metal is recommended for use with the DecoEmboss dies, as the DecoEtch will not leave a good impression. Also, our small Solid Brass Vintaj Vogue blanks will leave a lighter impression as well. Another thought is the possibility you removed the Solo Shim from the Platform at one time. That thin layer will help give a better impression when using the DecoEtch. Hope this helps!

I'm doing everything you have mentioned, I've even tried adding a couple pieces of cardstock in addition to the shim, but it still isn't leaving a great impression like it did the first few times. I'm using your artisan copper, natural brass, etc. I found them in Hobby Lobby, they are exactly like the ones you use in your video. I thought it was the plate, so I replaced that, but it still isn't etching they way it did the first few times I used the machine. It embossed paper just fine, and embossed anything I put into the DecoEmboss folders just fine as well. I thought maybe it was just a faulty die, but it IS working, I can see the impression left on the clear plate, it just isn't very detailed on the blank itself. It seems to be etching much better around the edges than the middle of the piece. I wish I could attach a photo to show what I mean. I own 13 DecoEmboss dies and 11 DecoEtch dies. I really want to be able to use them all. I do a lot of jewelry stamping and these videos inspired me, but I'm just not getting the same results as I did the first time I used the DecoEtch.

As long as you are using Vintaj blanks as you mentioned, the only other thing I can think of is if a DecoEtch die was used A LOT in the same area of the die and it is wearing down in that specific spot, although it sounds like it's this case with all of your 11 DecoEtch dies?? You can continue to email any questions or send a photo to design@vintaj.com. I also suggest contacting Sizzix directly, as they are the manufacture of the BIGkick Machine and Dies for us. They may be able to help you troubleshoot the problem you are experiencing.

Thank you, the dies are brand new, I'm thinking now there may be an issue with the machine itself, not the dies. I'll send a photo to the email address and also to Sizzix. Thanks for the prompt replies
