And that's what leaves me confused......... Samus clearly had a emotional attachment to the baby Metroid, which is shown in Other M (IDC if any of you consider it non-canon out of hate, IK it had A LOT of bad points in it but Nintendo decided its canon so it's canon just like the Zelda timeline, sorry we can't deny its canonicity), yet she gave it to the researchers without thinking of what might they do to the baby for experimentation? Something interesting here is that it shows that metroid aren't inherently evil. The chozo invented them to protect the galaxy from a major threat and thought of the metroid as their children. They even planned for the metroid and Samus to take over as the protectors of the galaxy when the chozo race dies out. The metroid we see throughout the series have either been weaponized under the space pirates, or were left in the wild with no teaching to control their life-sucking urges. But with the baby we see more or less what the chozo envisioned for the metroid. A loving species that would do what is necessary to protect it
thats the thing, theyre not evil, theyre pretty much wild animals (except they were artificially created but thats irrelevant for the point) but theyre FAR more deadlier then your average wild animal even for intergalactic standarts. not only that, it would be one thing if they were only roaming around SR388 extinguishing the X parasites and may or may not overrun the whole planet ecosystem (the X was gonna do that anyway too so...) but the space pirates were trying to wepaonize them and possibly spread them across the galaxy. i think extinguishing the metroid was a bit of an exagerated decidion though, wouldnt eliminating the space pirates and others that tried use them as weapons be a better solution? no? ok i guess.
@@unkindled6410 You’re quite right about the Metroid. Eliminating the Space Pirates would’ve been a better solution.
