Looks like it's finally the end of the road for Polaris. The A380 is very close or even beats the RX 580 while costing the same new as a 580 does used while also pulling half or even less the power. The A380 also has integrated hardware encoders (AV1 being the most notable) which allow you to do 60 fps screen recording no problem. They also greatly help in video editing and the like. It also has ray tracing support, so I guess you can play Minecraft with RTX shaders at 720p or whatever.
I think with a few more driver updates, a380's gonna KO everything else in this price point. I was mulling over an RX 550 pickup at Microcenter for $70, but when I saw this was $110 on Amazon, that made a world of sense to me. Can't wait to try it out! Curious to see if Ryujinx supports it, but I'm not holding my breath, I'm happy playing appropriate games on this until I get my 4060 back. :) Edit: This is 100% every equal to the 4060 IMO, other than missing out on DLSS, which I care not for.
@@ocha-time It had a very bad start, but now it's actually a good 1080p card. Personally I've got an A750. Superlative 1440p card. Runs everything on ultra at 60-100 fps. Even manages ray tracing on ultra in Cyberpunk at 40-50 fps with the latest XeSS 1.3. It even looks decent, even compared to DLSS. Very impressive. To think this kind of GPU sells for as little as $190, it's insane. 3060 levels of performance for a lot less money. Give them till the end of this year to perfect the drivers and they'll be kings of budget GPUs. I just hope the Battlemage cards don't end up more expensive due to the massively improved driver performance.
Why would someone buy a new RX 580? The RX 580 shines in the sub 100$ second hand market. Moreover, all the "new" rx 580s are usually refurbished/recycled older chips by chinese corpos using cheap PCB boards.

The RX 580 might deliver better performance in esports titles, but the A380 has the advantage of ray tracing support, superior XESS, AV1 encoding, and performs better on newer game engines like UE5 and CryEngine 4. Additionally, it consumes nearly half the power of the RX 580.

The chip is the same on all of them, except some have higher clock speed. Like those OC editions on Nvidia or Amd. Factory overclocked.
you need to compare every model, all of them have different overclock, by the way the model used in this video is the asrock with the 8 pin connector
