The point the gentleman was trying to make was that if we leave the ECHR we end up a dictatorship like those two countries because the safeguards are removed

@@garryrobertson9412it's an international court. Churchill was instrumental in setting it up. He would be appalled to see it torn down, along with everyone who died fighting against fascist dictatorships in world war 2.

Germany although in recession has a highly sophisticated and advanced manufacturing base even in recession their standard of living and public services are far superior they wouldn't consider the lunacy of withdrawing from ECHR. The UK is a service based low wage economy by comparison.

It is honestly infuriating how many people are going over to the reform side. I mean I do think it is better than the tories however it feels like people just see the words “reform” and think “omg yea I want this” and vote for Nigel. He was one of the MPs most responsible for brexit which has helped crash the economy.

The questioner was wrong. ECHR only has jurisdiction over the 46 Council of Europe members; most of the world doesn’t ’subscribe’ to it, as he put it.
Yea he stated it wrong here. I think he meant only two countries in the world that are apart of the EU, but yea should have made that clearer😅

Two other countries in Europe. Some of the "judges" on the ECHR are not qualified judges just political appointments. Clealry ECHR has had its day and is promoting ideology rather than protecting people from the state.
I can give u a ton of recent examples where the court has helped countries, also you realize that all political judges are appointed by the so called “political appointments”😊. For instance our general solicitors and attorneys in the House of Commons.

They were flooded out by the programme bringing in outsiders including Swiney who is the head of a devolved government. The head of the SNP at Westminster is an SNP UK MP. By the way, the Yorkshire people of York can't vote for the SNP so why bring Swiney there?
@johnwoods7650 there is no restriction stopping someone from Scotland, Wales or Ireland moving and settling in England or vice versa. It happens all the time. I work with people who have strong Irish accents. Just because someone was Scottish in the audience doesn't mean they were a plant.
As for SNP, it's an opportunity for them to get publicity. I've seen their idea on a number of things which I was impressed with. I think it's a shame we don't have the SNP as an option in England.
