  • San Antonio Symphony's principal cellist, Kenneth Freudigman, performs Ernest Bloch's Schelomo March 9-10, 2018 at the Tobin Center's HEB Performance Hall. Ken discusses with MatsonCreative's CEO Jim Berg his love of the cello and performs a few measures from the featured work and one popular other concerto - Dvorak's beloved cello concerto.
Rhapsodie Hébraïque for cello and Orchestra was the final work of composer Ernest Bloch's “Jewish Cycle.” Schelomo, which was written in 1915 to 1916 premiered on May 3, 1917, by cellist Hans Kindler.

Horrible, horrible.

+Renaud DesJardins I think he plays with beautiful tone, and I think he was casual about his conversation. I didn't think anything horrible about it. I think you may be a little bit too hard on this situation.
English Translation for non-French speakers: Horrible, horrible. He has no color of tone and he does not project his sound. When he speaks, he simply acts with boredom and sarcasm. I would suggest that he practices more before playing a part of this status. It goes without saying that I did not appreciate it.

@@samueligbo7727 I agree, I've heard him play up close and he has beautiful projection and emotion when he plays. I think the recording and acoustics of the room didn't do him justice.
As for the way he speaks that's just his personality, very dry and sarcastic. But I admire him very much as a cellist :D
