Give this Man a thumb up for cracking cursed Microsoft, Jesus!!! Thank you! I've been fighting with 2 summary tasks starting at the same time and not being counted by the summary tasks as total duration, this custom field helped, why why on earth would the standard field Duration not count together linked summary tasks by start to start dependencies?
Hello, thanks for the wonderful and easy to understand video. Slight issue I encountered tho, I followed the steps but had #ERROR messages on the summary level of tasks on my plan. What do I do?
I have made a schedule in ms project but facing an error in sum of duration ...the main activity having 7-8 indent i have written down duration of every indent but the sum of all is coming greater number than the actual sum of durations of indents...i have checked calender it is not wrong..plz guide
Hello Im new to project so perhaps the question might be silly. But i want to know the total duration in working days from start to finish considering that some tasks overlap each other.
Dave B The Duration column by default does this Dave. Make sure you edit your Calendar from Change Working Time on the Project tab so that Project understands your working days correctly. This video is to show how to add up all the durations instead of the difference between start and finish. You will be happy with just the Duration column.
Hello. This was just to add up all the duration which is what the video is about but i want to know how to round off the value of duration (considering all the logic in the program). Like in above example, duration was 56.5 days, how to round it off to 57 days?
+Muhammad Abdullah Chaudhary In the Project Options and the Display section there is a setting to remove decimal places from currency. This should round the values.
If you switch to the Variance table by clicking the View tab, Tables and Variance from the Gantt Chart. This view will show the start and finish variance of your project on the Project Summary Bar. For this to work it would require you having a Baseline setup and the Project Summary bar displayed.
thank you sir, i just subscribed to your channel, do you have any tutorial for this? , i just want to know how to determine the Projected or plan(in percent) every Week of the project so that i can substract it to the Actual Weekly Accomplishment. so that i can determine the difference of them.
I just want to summarize the # of calendar delays of the project through their difference. but i dont know the Total Plan Percentage AS PER WEEKLY. Can you help me sir? My boss need my presentation on MONDAY. please help me.
Project has a % complete field but the detail you need seems beyond projects standard fields. You can create a custom field or maybe export the data into Excel for analysis.
Absolutely phenomenal!

Thank you.
You're welcome Koorosh.
I´d like to have that template, because i´ve been developing games with SUM, Would you like to give me some? best regrets
how do I enter fixed duration and start and finish dates? for instance duration of 266 days start date 4th march 2020 finish date 25th november 2020
You can change the task from Auto scheduled to Manually scheduled and then enter the dates into the Start and Finish fields.
very helpful
Thanks Ahmed.
Thanks
You're welcome Prashant.
Sir, Can you solve this project by "Crunching" (peak) Method
How to determine the total cost of the project?
how to know the sum of the calendar day delays of the project?
