The Stones - all the years, all the popular songs we've all heard ( and the not-so-popular ones), the outtakes (better than most bands could ever dream of), outrageous concerts, stories & myths, world tours and ex-girlfriends, busts and legal troubles, personalities and conflicts. So varied and so talented. If there was only one band to listen to for eternity, it would have to be the stones.
SO true..... I don't consider the fucking garbage on "country stations" these days to really even be country music. REAL country music faded away years ago..... The cringe inducing ear torture they call "country" today is nothing short of audible reeking pig shit.....
60s was such a magical time. Even a tune made without a lot of planning is immortal. I keep coming back to this early version of Country Honk again and again.
@@MrTheHillfolk Back in the day I had Let It Bleed on 8-track. My girl and I are driving when the car horn on Country Honk plays. She started looking around us. I just laughed.

It is a very good album but Brian and Keith were a mess. Those Olympic sessions were always in the wee hours of the night with everyone but Bill and Charlie half out of their minds. Jimmy Miller still has the reputation as the wild producer. Marijuana was listed as the cause of death on his death certificate. While that was questionable it was plausible to everyone that knew him. My favorite Stones album is Out of Our Heads. It is a near perfect record Let it Bleed had some slopy stuff on it. The studio version of Love in Vain is shit for example.
Ray Pellerin I will certainly listen to it again, I think one of the positives of these re releases is that it provides an open forum and perspective and context we didn’t have the first time! Happy Listening and Win the Day!!

During the recording of "Beggars Banquet" a fundamental event occurred in the history of the Stones: in those days of 1968, the Byrds were on tour in Europe, and their last concert was at the Royal Albert Hall in London, but when They learned that the tour was going to continue in South Africa, they refused to go, staying in the British capital. In that formation of the Byrds was Gram Parsons, who became close to Keith Richards, and the influence of country rock on the Stones was evident from then on.

This was one of the final cuts before the released version. The final, touches were then added and then put on the LP.
Benny Hill and the Stones satirized American culture. Country Honk and Dear Doctor are hilarious.
