I was always so confused what the heck a decorated tree had to do with Christmas. I learned later on that in Yule they decorated the trees in shiny baubles to try and entice the fairies back, which made so much sense

I had a legit premonition about this. A couple days ago, I was wondering what a christmas song by Matt would sound like and I had remembered next episode of jam mechanics was coming up and I was just so sure that somehow you'd get put up to doing something christmassy, and you took it off the rails in the best way. honestly, AlIen is such a good song, and I think the limitations to 42 unique words makes it hit harder. matt is definitely right about the repetition emphasis. also was the 42 words a reference to hitchhikers guide to the galaxy? because if so, that's amazing.
