Your thoughts on autism and adhd?
DJ EJ dunno what’s yours?
Have a great show! I wish i could make it.
I dont mind
You shuld make a mini ocelator and cheap diy synth and filter seriese
I just realized who designed the cybertruck.
I just realized who did the typeface design for Make Noise!
Cyber Truck = Synth Cart
8-bit Keys is gonna LOVE it
TheZooropaBaby indeed! I’ll post him one
I mean, this is quite literaly literally 8-bit keys :3
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER I might love that, too. Need my address? ;)
"Kinda like of a Moog"
Oh yeah, you just built a Moogmodore Model D64. Brilliant :-D
haha wait till behringer rips this off
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER what's your thoughts about it ? I'm curious :D
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER :-D
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER If Behringer brings SID back into production... that would be amazing!
Sam is reaching crazy levels of geniusness!!!
he's just stooping to cast pearls for us swine
This little booger is so talented! His projects are always a surprise. Love watching what he does next!
Am I the only one who is overwhelmed with this video? XD
SID is life. SID is love
AntiPattern sid is death
I forgot how nasty this analog sound can be.
@@AntiPattern123 hybrid. Digital OSC, analog filter.
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER So death wasnt bad after all.
That thing is wicked! I wonder if Jack Tramiel of Commodore realised at the time how powerfull the SID chip is considering he wanted to cost everything down to a price. It’s Robert Janne’s little cheecky gem😉.
I also had a go at asking chat GPT to write the Arduino code for me and it worked! Only 3 sentences and the code was generated without any error. Amazing!
I loved my c64 in 1983. Mainly for the music. To hear chords off my computer was a real thrill. And now I have my studio with more toys than I have time for 😂
Same piano chords right
his voice sounds like how his font looks
Dude I would literally pay you to build me one of these for my music. I’ve always wanted a solution that allowed me to really work with the SID in this way!
Regarding the filter, the C64 filters are known for being very “idiosyncratic”, varying from machine to machine, but that’s all part of the charm. :)
And in some machines they just up and stop working... (the filters, the oscillators, the whole SID YMMV)
I appreciate the moire effect on the trinitron and the blinking game boy matrix in the background. The vibe is rich. You stroke my particular fancy, Mr. No Computer. I feel like my soul has been properly buttered.
When I grow up I want to be look mum no computer.
are you kidding me how awesome is this
You have inspired me in many ways in the direction of music. Thank you for your willingness to "don't be afraid to try it" on video for us all.
🙏
The screen grafics are gold!
Man, you are like the guy who did electronic hacks in Max Headroom, but in real life. You now even have lots of screens in the background!
lmnc pushes the limits of the sid chip for 10 mins casually the video
My cat was super fascinated by the noises and was all up on my phone screen trying to figure it out 😂awesome stuff
It were my first computer back in 1991. Nice to see what you guys coming up with an idea and what you pulled out of the C64.
Keep on rockin!
The world needs you!!!
the sid chip is super impressive for a 1983 home computer ^^
Probably first time that chip designers knew about music too. This guys leave commdore and founded ESS. Apple sucks so bad, Commdore made this 64K machine AFFORDABLE to almost anyone and it wasnt just a cheap game console, it was a complete computer with built in basic, all the peripeharals etc. I mean, nothing toy like, but a real computer. And with the mone of an Apple 2 ALONE, you got the 64, printer and disk drive. Apple II even used the 6502 from MOS .... pathetic. Putting a computer together ... wow yeah ...very good, Commodore DESIGNED THEIR CHIPS first. They werent linmited by the of the shlef parts, they MADE THEIR PARTS. PERIOD. MPU, SOUND, VIDEO, EXPANSION CHIP, FULL DECODING LOGIC and 20K of Kernal+Basic to support them.
1982.
You are the Hero that the Gotham of Music needs but doesn't deserves!
The Notes & Volts midi controller tutorials are pure gold, good looking on the recommendation!
Your best Commodore synth yet!
SID is Awesome man. Please make more stuff that we can build that is affordable. Needs to make a comeback totally.
No computer my ass, that is a C64 which is clearly a computer. /s
Love your videos, I love the sound that makes.
7:09 - that's the classic sound!
You're so sweet, you look like a nice person to hug.
I never imagined a C64C doing this backintheday.
Heyyy...there's always something about your uploads and that is, that I wanna see the 'whole' video! It's your unlimited enthousiasm!
WOOOOOOO
Thanks, you brave man :-} :-} :-}
Holy crap! Thats awesome. From 1984-1989 I used a c64 for a 32 track midi sequencer.i still have 2 c64’s and a 128 plus all the interfaces in my garage.I hope before I kick the bucket to re live my glory days and fire them up.oh also i used a c64 in 1985 to automate a 24 channel allen and heath mixing console .they were cool little computers .i also loved to play racing games on them.lol
that wall of gameboys is amazing
There is cool and there is this - which is better. You guys rock!
Wow that is so cool. I bet Dr. Mix is gonna have fun with that creation.
Excellent work LMNC ! By th sound of it, I get the feeling that the controls are very jumpy and difficult to dial in gradually. Maybe swap out the log pots for linear pots, or vice versa. That could cure the problem. Cheers, Paul.
They are fine as they are :D cheers
One thing that might affect the overall sound and filters is the fact that the A/V (audio-video) connector has an EXT IN pin - this was intended to let you mix in external sounds (at 0.6 Vpp signal level, I think). If nothing's plugged in, it acts like an antenna and mixes in noise.
The fix is to connect the A/V connector's EXT IN pin to ground - on an old C64 with the long board and the 6581 SID, this silences the noise and needs no more modifications.
On newer C64s (like your "cut-down one") with the short board and the 8580 SID, if you short the EXT in line to ground through a 330 kΩ resistor (or a potentiometer which you can tweak further), it both silences the noise and brings back the SID's ability to play digitized samples (which rely on at least some bias on the input line).
Another thing that might be affecting it is heat - those older SIDs do tend to warm up and it might cause the filters and the chips themselves to go unstable, so it might be a good idea to put a small passive heatsink onto each of them.
Boris Matešin first thing you do when doing the sid2sid. The above problem is because I had an 8580 in with the wrong caps and power
I've wanted to do this with my setup for ages, I would buy that knob set up in a heart beat
Awesome!! Always great to see you doing something with the good old SID chip =D
*Pronouces Moog like "Rogue"*
Oh, I see you're a man of culture aswell
im gunna start mis pronouncing it to pee peiople off haha
well Bob Moog was far too nice to care how people pronounced it for the synths, so they're kinda both right ;)
Mooooog as in cow
Moog as in Bloooo Monday. Moog as in Goo Goo Ga Jooooob
@@LucasS095 Good luck with Spurs, you'll need it. Moooooooog as in Boooooooooogie
Awesome work!
That sounds incredible!
I wonder what my Amiga 500 would be capable of...
amiga is more of a sampler with 4 8bit PCM channels instead of the actual synthesizer chip the 6581 (old brown c64) or 8580 (new slimmer white c64) uses.
So cool! Thanks for the shout-out :) I'm a big fan of your channel.
friggin brilliant man--also, super inspiring. Keep em coming!!
The designers of the SID did a terrific job, mostly designed in paper, in just 10 months with partial testing, while all the oder "computers" made beeps, this could even make speech.
I've no words...Oh yes... put it on sale on your site, pleeeaaase!! 😎
oooh, and i was searching for that .... it wasn´t there actually.. nice :D
But i saw in a doc+mix video a commodore as well...
7:47 old school explosion sounds :D
You’re the MacGyver of synths!!!
FRIGGIN TRULY!!!
Holy cow, I would die for one of these. Amazing.
dude.. you should contact LukHash as well, he would greatly benefit from a wild set up like this!!
5 days ago what the fuck

Cool man!! Didn’t know that the sounds would be so fat!! My generation grew up with the c64 that was the coolest thing when I saw it for the first time. Cool that a young dude like you still can have a lot of fun with a machine like that.
You'r a mad scientist.
Mirage in the background:)
Jakob Callsen I bought that forn15 quid!
Fuck me, I love the SID-chip! This might be one of the coolest mods I've ever seen!
A real pleasure to Watch your videos
fantastic
gotta love the sid sound
Look Mum - A Computer.
This is freaking genius! 🤯
Love it!
Great crazy work!
This thing is wicked! Keep up the good work :)
your like the colin furze of music, i just found your channel and your amazing :)
Ended up replacing my busted C64 to try out Cynthcart. I still have MSSIAH, but it was never as good as this looks. Just using a Behringer MIDI controller for now, but might have to try your awesome PCB...
Damn, I love LMNC vids!
omg these sounds
Great fun.
Hmm, crunchy!
This entire room is a decent use of electrons
sickly cool!
Please please release that board design as well to your shop!! I have bought every board you made thus far and would buy a pile of these! :D
You should see if you could use the wall of Gameboys to put your voice through so they light up when you talk
Awesome!
SUPERB!
I love cynthcart and have always wanted to hard mod some knobs but I can't bring myself to drill the holes in my breadbin
The sid chip is is so tasty.
I think a talk box would be sick with that!
Awesome
Look mum no computer
Literally uses the grandmother of all computers
This guy is rad.
Lovely thing you built there,
but that double cartridge setup gives me anxiety. It looks so fragile.
Disappointed in the lack of comments saying "Look mum, a computer"
Top work. Love it!
*tremolo with an o. Love your videos ~

See sixty four midi symphisizer ! Gnarly !
Very impressive. You can actually get a keyboard that lays over the commodore keys, if you can find one.
sounds sick!
I love this project. I built one and it is awesome. I can’t wait to see the next version. I hope you will provide the gerber files like you did for this one.
I see that ensoniq mirage in the background there 😳
This is cool AF
i love this guy
Could always just build an MB6582 MIDIbox SID, 8x SID chips of ph33r. Cool project, though!.. you should build one for MASTERBOOTRECORD too.. I think he uses Cynthcart..
Wagoo deffo! I had a midibox sid I didn’t get on with it. Not too immediate
Nice and Dandy :) Sounds cool.
lovely lovely lovely. 5:55 for a moment there you went a tad jean-michel jarre...
Richard Wagner Jean Michelle jam jar
