We can see how skillfull Sir Divish is on his speech in assuring Sigismund's forces without swearing loyalty to him when Markvart von Aulitz ask for his loyalty to his lord.
Talmberg's were cadets of Kaunitz family, they shared the same coat of arms as well. While Talmbergs were mostly minor nobility that achieved the highest rank of baron, the senior line of Kaunitz arose to such heights to Counts and even Princes of the Empire.
Diviš z Talmberku (Sir Divish of Talmberg) owned Talmberg Castle in the years 1390-1415. In 1391 the castle was conquered and Diviš was taken captive and by his neighbour Havel Medek of Valdek, though we no longer know how the dispute arose between them.
Very good video. I enjoyed watching the gameplay in the background. Of course, I had to watch it twice to make sure i listened to everything you said. The combat distracted me.
Actually, the story in the game about lady Stephanie not having children with Divish can make sense. We don't know when Oldřich and his brothers were born the fact that they are not mentioned in the game ast all suggests that they were not yet born. In the game Stephanie told Henry that she had had two miscarriages and that by 1403 Divish was too old to give her a son. It is entirely possible that Henry was intentionally seduced to provide an heir. That would make Henry the actual father of Oldřich who was raised as if he was Divish's blood. If concieved in 1403 he would have been born in 1404 which means he would have been 11 years old in 1415 when Divish died. As for his younger brothers, who knows who their fathers were. No sources so we'll never know but I wanted to point out the possibility. I very much enjoy the game and your videos, keep up the good work!
I like that theory, and it does add some interesting possibilities to the story, but i think it is far more likely that this was just added to the story to add a salacious twist to an otherwise decently orthodox plotline.
I always like learning about each person from KCD. Divish to me was always the one I held at the highest regard despite as you say it "bumped uglys" with Stephanie and he was in the other room lol One guy that mystifies me is Hanush. wonder who else was either fabricated or their stories were. like Capon, or Bernard I know Nightingale went into some detail on our walk around the town, but it was alot of info to take in while trying to patrol the city
For the most part. The stories for the characters in this game are pretty close to being historically accurate. There are some embellishments, and sometimes the personalities do not seem consistent with the historical truth, but this is for the sake of the narrative.
I did, yes. I wanted to separate my content so that people who want to watch gaming content don't need to be bothered by my History stuff, and vice versa.
I’m very much of the opinion that they intentionally chose for Divish and Stephanie to not have kids yet for the purpose of it being Henry who actually fathers 1, if not all of them. With how often she mentions kids and marriage woes with Henry, it really does come off as this being her true purpose in seducing him, to give Divish an heir, wether it’s really his or not. It would make sense for her to do this as well, if Divish were to die childless his holdings would most likely pass on to some brother, nephew or cousin rather than to her. If this is the case like I believe it will be, it will make for an interesting scenario. Henry is someone who Divish trusts quite a bit and helps a ton during the first game, I mean that trust goes so deep that he basically gives him an entire village to rebuild and govern. Divish seems like a smart man, he’d undoubtedly know any child recently wasn’t his. He could be furious at Henry or he could simply not care and just be content Stephanie finally got what she wanted.
@@jimmylim5015 Well, for part of his rule, he was rather young. And he lived what i would consider a youthful existance, barring of course his captivity.
Can't wait for the second game when Sir Divish asks his wife why his kids look like Henry and their first words are that they are hungry

Divish was certainly an experienced statesman and politician.
That what happens when you have max speech skills
and in dialogues his speech skill is 0

I love this series. Kingdom come deliverance is one of my all tome favorite games, and its so much fun to learn the history behind it.
I am certainly glad you enjoy them. Personally i find all of this to be very interesting.

That is true.
Probably his wife Stephanie I mean she even rode the sheets with henry

Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, the gameplay has that effect, so i don't use it very often for history videos like this.
My man Divis De Talmberk. Great video
Glad you enjoyed
How's your white shirt his wife gave?

Henry didn't know Divish well, but he knew his wife in the biblical sense.
Sir Divish is just a grandpa in plate armor
Thats a creative way to describe him.
@@ParryThis Yup he's a nice grandpa with the drip plate
So bad there's no evidence whatsoever mentions if Sir Robard ever existed
just started this game and i am learning so much history from this game
Sir Divish and Father Godwin are the only 2 characters in the game that broke my immersion and reminded me I was playing a startup.
Don't know if you mentioned this but did remove all the history videos from your gaming channel?

He and Robard were my fav chars in the game...
Fascinating.
Thanks. I agree.
Sir Divish needs to let Henry have that Pate Armor, he no longer needs it👍 Proper Fancy
The fact that none of the nobles have any children in the game (except henry) is very immersion breaking, medieval children of men.
I have a question: if Sir Divish was Prague Burgrave, why was he in Talmberg instead Prague during game period?
He came back to keep an eye on his wife.
I couldnt find Divish on the list of all Burgraves of Prague.
Well, guess for my next crussader kings 2 campaign i am much obliged to play as the lower bohemian lords
Wait wait hold up.. when you said dive on in at the beginning with the slight accent.. Roger's Spot?
Bro how do you manage to have such a pixelated image at a supposed 1080p Full HD resolution..
Probably recorded the game at a really low bitrate.

I really don’t like Divishs English voice, the German voice for example is way more authentic as it actually sounds like an old man.
What happened to the family after the 17 hundreds? Why they lost their castles? Prussian Austrian wars?
Just me or does divish look like wilhelm the second in the thumbnail
Perhaps just you...perhaps not.

So he lived through the black death.
The commonly accepted years for the black death (bubonic plague pandemic) are 1346-1352.
