    I was just about to turn 12 years old when this episode about to come out,,,my mind was blown away and Glad and very proud to be a Detroiter amond SUPER STAR DANCERS who really threw down,,,we need more of this to show the World,,,,,,THIS IS HOW WE DID IT family,fun and free and no troubles

    I loved the Scene.. looked forward to watching the dancers, they were incredible and “80” stylish 💋❤️. Started dancing on there myself during 1981-84 in HS. GREAT times then and in Detroit growing up. Miss those days....🥰🥳🎉!

    I'm a life time Detroit I was in highschool when nat Morris and the scene came out I would watch them and soul train both of them were great

    Ah haha My body still remembers those moves. I can still do those Scene moves. The only dance that gave me problems was the shake. Any Detroit heads remember when Cheryl Peoples and Lorenzo went on Dance Fever and turned it out doing the shake? Then they really went bonkers when Cheryl did the splits and started walking across the stage while still in full splits position.

      @@marlonholt40 you don't say when fast Freddy was in L.A. doing beat Street he was pit himself on soul traiy after that he went back to Detroit and hang back to the wrong guys until he got killed. O hot s huge crush on him

      @@lifeworksndhenterprisesllc6597 I didn't know Lorenzo as fast Freddy but if he's gone, I'm sorry to hear it. We went way back to Highland Park. You can find the Soul train show we were on by finding the scramble which was "Jermaine Stuart" I unscrambled lol Also Typical male by Tina Turner was one of the songs we danced to lol. Sheryl and Lorenzo won cars and cash in L.A. Bobby and Sheryl were partners on the scene Bobby was a super kool guy. I hope where ever he's at, he's happy. It was sad to hear about Roni.

      Ahh I wouldn't say all that. In those days, the 70s and early 80s, Detroit's murder rate was between 600-800 a year! Still there were good times you just had to be careful. LOL! Love Detroit forever!

    I got refused twice at the door as a dancer. First time I went by myself, next with a date; you’ll notice there aren’t many white folk on the show, most especially Men. Both times I wore my WilliWear suit, looked fantastic, was told so. Still no though. A couple of folks did mention something about my having very large eggs for even trying.

      If we look back though history this GOVERNMENT has done MORE HARM to our Black Community than they have to ANY OTHER even NOW immigrants are getting better treatment than US ! That gives the nod to ALL others to Mistreat US including so called people of color NON-FBA Foundational Black Americans for those that are unaware of what FBA is !

    It is really sad that in 2015 we don't have any mainstream black dance shows anywhere on television which has been supplanted by music videos. Young black millennials have no interest in preserving black culture and they shun things like this.

      You are so right ...This is such a beautiful snap shot of our culture suspended in this time capsule ..now everything is disposable and has no value.. people look so genuinely happy bright effervescent and slim lol and made an effort to dress up.. just beautiful

      millennials stare at their phones all day. back then all we had were landline telephones and we socialized in person. its going to get worse because the iphones are coming out with 3D screens

      it's not a black thing, MTV dropped beachhouse and max headroom. But the saucy jazzy rambunctious groover music still lives on and tests itself against the dancefloor to this very day. Trust me, I have seen it, DANCING FOR FUN IS REAL.

    Then we'd watch "Rolling Funk" on Saturday , followed by a random selection of "Movies All Night" with the grainiest, murkiest film prints found anywhere. And everything was "A Nate McAlpaine Production."

      It's probably changed due to copyright infringement or lack of permission in today's music industry and youtube will (in many instances) enforce it.
