Can thoroughly recommend My Immortal to hear Amy Lee’s voice at its most emotional. Goosebumps every time!
straight up tears on my end....
I so agree my favourite evernesance song
yep, Evanescence have so many good songs, i can't even count, but My Immortal is special, it's a classic!
And tears.
This song is painful
There seems to be something about female lead singers that really does it for Brad. The smile on your face at the end said it all.
Portishead !!!! (Amy's sound reminds me a bit of Beth's)
It’s impossible not to like it. It’s more rare.
Especially when great.
Brad is definitely not alone! I also have a preference for good female vocalists. Their range, timbre, inflection, passion and on and on...
Literally every Evanescence song is amazing. Amy Lee just has that type of voice that can capture your attention.
Completely agree with this, She draws you in and holds you tight.
The all-time king of pausing in exactly the wrong spot does it again.
It's a gift.
You ain't wrong lol
That's funny man but unfortunately so true. I know they don't know what's coming next but many of us do. Ooh, I'm rhyming😁
BWAH-HAH-HAH! Truth... 🤷♂️
But...how can you enjoy a couple more?
so true
True
My Immortal is one the best by Evanescence. Amy Lee has a beautiful voice.
True another great similar song by them is Lost in paradise
I'm a grown ass man and that song can bring a tear to my eye. The reason changes as we go farther into this journey we call life.
Yes!!
Yeah, such a powerful ballad. Still, keep going back to the first song of theirs I heard on that Orkus demo CD all those years ago, "Imaginary", which speak to me on a very personal level ;)
Seether Broken with Amy Lee
Amy Lee has an amazing voice.
Cue all the Evanescence fans (like myself) who will flock here and ask you to react to their entire discography. lol
😜🥰
Yesss! I was thinking the same thing! So many better songs than this.
Man, every time I hear Amy Lee's voice......goosebumps....
Amy Lee's voice is just MAGIC! You'll love You Never Call Me When You're Sober, she's just as great singing it Unplugged!
She’s great live period
"A little bit heavier....."
Lex is true metalhead!
Gotta love it! 🤘🏽
I see you check out Evanescence. Here some great songs:
• Everybody's Fool
• My Immortal
• Going Under
• Lithium
• My Heart is Broken
• Hello
• Call Me When You're Sober
And Broken ft seether
You forgot good enough
If you've watched Ben Affleck's Daredevil movie, then you've heard this. Probably why it sounds familiar.
It was also on every radio station when it released and still plays on a regular basis to this day.
I thought it was in one of the Spiderman movies
Yeb DAREDEVIL soundtrack
@@cheapagamer55 yr close to 30 😲💀🙈😂😂
That’s the movie. I was thinking Underworld for some reason.
Amy Lee’s Voice is Hauntingly Angelic. Now You MUST React to “My Immortal”. It’s a MUST. I tear up every time I see a Reaction of someone Listening to My Immortal for the 1st Time
Amy’s Voice and the Lyrics of My Immortal just hit Different The Lyrics Amy’s Voice The Piano the Violin . And if like Something Heavier , React to “Tourniquet” it ROCKS
Evanescence and Linkin Park got me through a very dark phase of my life. I cannot speak for everybody, but the sentiment from me at the time was that if your child was listening to either of these two bands, it might have been a good idea to just check in on how they are doing. Amy and Chester spoke to me in ways that no other musicians could. It was like they understood my pain.
Me too, Siyabonga,it's also nostalgic for me.I was listening to this song almost every nite while doing a train-up to Iraq at FT Steward,Ga.(my 3th deployment to Iraq)I was recalled back to active duty to go fight in Iraq.It was like being DRAFTED !!! LOL. It was a miserable 3 month train-up,lots of mishaps,in country it was even worse. But,most nite me and my Lt would ROCK-OUT to this song !!! We became pretty good friends.
Still hoping you continue the Nightwish journey! "Storytime" and "Romaniticide", both from the Wachen 2013 concert. Pretty please (and thank you)!
Floor Jansen. 6 feet sonic Valkyrie!
Amy harmonizing with herself is great!
I've requested Evanescence for over a month and you guys didn't disappoint. Amy is amazing, they have many great songs. Also over 19k views in 8 hours!!! Definitely going to drop another super chat next time I catch your stream.
Lex: "Sounds like a vampire movie." My six-degrees-of-fangs theory is: all movies, songs, books from year 200x are influenced by vampires. :) Joking of course, it's not all -- more like 90%.
I mean the Underworld franchise did feature some Evanescence. Your point stands regardless though. The 2000s were full of vampire movies and Nu-metal was arguably the biggest rock genre at the time. Makes sense they would be linked.
The male singer is Paul McCoy from the band 12 Stones. 12 Stones & Evanescence were on the same record label.
It’s like 10yrs at least ago. Can’t keep track of time nomore! Lol
Now y’all gotta check out My Immortal. Amy has the voice of an Angel
^^ This. Headphones on, eyes closed. Her voice is unreal in My Immortal.
This song? Closer to 20 years old at this point
This was like 2003
@@allbies Gahhhh!!! I’m so old! Lol
Yes, totally. But the original all piano version, not the version with the heavy riffs at the end.
"My Last Breath" is a great Evanescence song that is hardly reviewed by anyone. I'd love to see a reaction to that one!
Before we get to my immortal, check out Going Under. Just to know that not all Evanescence songs from now on would be too chill to bop to.
Going under acoustic is my favourite.
@@Bothandle70 agreed but it is still too calm for lex
Start with a shellshocking of "Sweet Sacrifice", "Weight of the World", "Cloud Nine".
Male Voice is Paul Mccoy from 12 Stones. He's not apart of Evanescence, was a guest vocalist for just this song. Their best song
Tarja was the original Nightwish singer.
Not name dropping here just telling the story of an amazing and strong woman and family. I have known her and her family since she was 15. Her dad was an on air personality in Little Rock's Morning drive for decades and a voice actor as well. He also was on The Gong show back in the 70s, John Lee.
Amy has been through some deep emotional tragedies in her life. She lost a younger sister, 3, when she was 6 and a child her self. Then her brother passed after a life long struggle with severe epilepsy at the age of 24. She has had an emotional life for certain. Her wonderful lyrics are from the life she lead and those who feel her emotion also feel her pain. 'HELLO' is a song that was on 'Fallen' and has never been played live. Well, once when her dad recorded it when Amy presented and gave away a piano she wrote most of her music on to a fan. It is about her sisters passing and the song that made her become creative to deal with the emotions. That moment Amy became a songwriter.
As we all know she went on to become one of the first female NuMetal singers. Definitely the most beautiful. Her entire family has the DNA of beauty, and kindness.
Alanis Morrisette pretty pretty please🙏 “Uninvited” & “You Oughta Know” & “Thank You” are all great songs to start with. She’s interesting, weird, amazing and iconic!!! You won’t be disappointed
Yes, Please! 👍
Yes Lex, this is early 2000's Nu-Metal. Amy Lee is one of my favorite female vocalists. Next to Floor Jansen from Nightwish and Tatiana from Jinjer.
If you're interested in those, check out Scardust. The singer, Noa was actually a student of Floor.
Not a huge fan of Nightwish (maybe just a bit too much of the operatic for me??), but I LOVE Jinjer ❤♥ great suggestions. Pretty sure they did one or two from Jinjer already tho
@@ChanelStuff check out Scardust, a lot less operatic, it's more of a proggy power metal band.
Also, Floor's Nightwish is completely different, still has a little opera vocals, not overwhelming. She completely changed a lot of the songs without making it pop like.
@@MetalMann-de3xi sounds good I'll check them out. I'll even give Nightwish another try. Thanks🤘
@@ChanelStuff Basically anything 2013 and beyond. All the best stuff is live crazy enough. Romanticide, Devil and The Deep Dark Ocean
Perfection!!! I hope y’all just love the heck out of this! 🙌❤️
The band is Evanesence feat. the singer of another rock band called 12 Stones.
I love when people hear Amy Lee's voice for the first time!!! If you want to hear Evanescence going hard, then watch Sweet Sacrifice, Everybody's Fool, or (my personal favorite) Going Under.
"...save me from the nothing I've become..." Some of the greatest lyrics ever penned..............
Been around for awhile! I was really glad to hear this one! You are both awesome!
The guy in this song is a guest vocalist named Paul McCoy from a band called 12 Stones. They were from the same label that Evanescence started on. That label (Windup) did a lot of soundtrack songs around the time this came out
Amy Lee's voice is just something amazing to hear...
This whole album is superb. Well worth a listen.
You guys have been on a roll lately with the song selections.
Dude in this song isn’t actually in the band, his band is called 12 Stones
The song was originally created without the guy, but the record label had other ideas. Not a band I followed, but 'My Immortal' is a showcase of how amazing her voice truly is.
They made it with the singer from 12 stones because that’s who gave Evanescence their shot and took them on tour with them when this album dropped. I got to see them both do an acoustic show at a shopping mall in Pasadena, Tx. Right before they were going on tour.
Yessssss it does
Aaahh YES I grew up on this song!!!!
Love Y'all hope you have a great day
Great song, beautiful voice, deep lyrics... been in MANY soundtracks over the last 2 decades
Evanescence is amazing. When i was a teen, my dad and sisters would often blair it through the house. She is one of my fav. Female singers of all time.
New trend, recommend songs synonymous with movies. Seal - Kiss from a Rose, Nickleback - Hero, etc…
Batman and spiderman 😂
@@dayoolyngdoh5453 you get it
Listen to "Everybody's Fool," "I'm Going Under" and "Call Me When You're Sober" by this band. You will really enjoy all of them.
I remember the first time I heard this song and I was hooked. I don't know if the musical textures/heaviness, her voice or the fusion between metal and rap singing but the there was something really special going on. I would loop this song over and over, just couldn't get enough. Another song "Sail" by Awolnation had a similar effect on me, just love that bass note and the hooks in the song.
Love watching Lex’s reaction!
Nice! Yes, “My Immortal “ has to be next by them. I’d encourage you guys to react to the video for that one, even if you have to blur it out. It’s quite artistic and moving.
This group helped me some very dark times. Amy Lee"s voice 🔥🔥🔥
I have been waiting for you two to finally get to this band. This was the first song I ever heard from them and I have been a fan ever since. Amy Lee is incredibly gifted with an amazing voice. I look forward to when you get to some of the other good ones that have female lead vocalists like Paramore, In This Moment, and Portishead.
Great voice! Miss hearing this on the radio.
Please check out “broken” by 12 stone. The male singer is the lead singer of 12 stones. Great band also.
You mean by seether?
They are two separate songs. 12 stones has a song called broken. Seether Has a song called broken too.
@@rustzz8 no. 12 stones wrote a song called broken.
The nostalgia lol
Amys voice is just everything. So many great song by the band
From the movie Daredevil with Ben Afleck. There were a couple of songs by Evanescence in the movie.
She is Amy Lee. They are huge you can have heard them anywhere.
''Shes like the original Nightwish'' Bruh moment
A lot of people are going to get unnecessarily butt hurt about that comment
@@bryndrson8289 Except it is the reverse. Check the discography history.
@@shawnski001 I understand Nightwish was first. That's my point. People are going to get butthurt that she didn't know that.
@@bryndrson8289 Doesn't bother me. I new of them WAY before I found out about Nightwish. And I don't get upset when people first think Floor sounds like Amy. Still high praise in some ways.
Have a great day.
@@shawnski001 bothered you enough to comment twice tho....
official vid is so awesome! "My Immortal" is stunning!
It has been used in movies but is an original release, the guy is a guest vocalist. I can't remember his name or the band he sings with. "You never call me when you're sober" is another favorite.
Every time I see Brad leaning forward I'm like "Don't you f*cking pause it, DON'T YOU DARE!!! F*ck, he paused it!"
Take away his pausing privileges for 3 reactions.
Lol they have to pause it here n there
@@s.l.s.l.1405 I know. His timing is often so perfectly wrong it's uncanny though.
STOP PAUSING OUR SONGS PLS
Evanescence was Ben moody and Amy Lee then Ben left. Ben would come back with another band We are the Fallen. I remember My Immortal blowing up locally
They have sooo many different sounds but always amazing and with a good message
Another classic that helped shape my youth. Amy has an amazing voice
I LOOOOVE evanescence!!!! Check out the songs Going Under, Everybody’s Fool, Tourniquet, or Lithium. Amy Lee has such an AMAZING voice 🔥 honestly just about any song they have is great.
And don't forget my immortal.
Definately one of their best. Check out "Call me when you're sober" too.
1:17 Maybe you heard it from a wwe PPV in 2003 called No way out in Feb of that year. This song came out in March that year and wwe helped immensely to promote it.
Great reaction. Hope you will do more Evanescence songs.
This is another one of those “how have you never heard this” songs. LOL.
Ima call bs on this 1 lol
I’d say about 80% of all reactions on here are bs
@@animeman84 I don’t think Brad and Lex are fake at all. Not what I was saying. I’m just amazed they’ve never heard it.
I'd like to recommend Youth of the Nation by POD
I still remember seeing them live when they were just a Christian music band. Skillet is another band that I use to listen to way before they became mainstream.
@@anthonymerchant2597 Skillet is one of those bands I could never get into. I always kinda saw them as a meme lol I never saw POD but it'd be fun I'm sure
@@antemorph66 Yeah POD was fun but they did very different music back then. It was still alternative rock but it was far more focused on Christianity. The concert even took place at a church.
@@anthonymerchant2597 just knowing their later stuff I can definitely see them coming from that. They kept that same kind of deep and melancholic but hopeful motif
Yes, they were considered Nu Metal and yes, it was on the Daredevil soundtrack along with another song by Evanescence "My Immortal" which was amazing as well
*"Bring Me To Life" was used in a promo for Buffy The Vampire Slayer on The WB (syndicated TV network that later became The CW).*
“Bid my Blood to run” asking permission from the Lord thy God for her blood to run through her body! One of the greatest lines ever in music history so humble
Amy Lee is perfection. Next one please do Going Under.
I love that you reacted to this! I have a playlist called break me/breakdown and it’s in it. When you’re 13 and depressed it’s a killer. Looking back at 26 I still feel the song although not being depressing. It’s a masterpiece and still hits different after all these years. Pls do „My Immortal“ from Evanescence - it digs deep
One my favorites. I also love My Immortal, Lithium, and the song Amy did with Seether - Broken.
Nightwish were already around.
Great song! I love her voice!!
In a interview Amy Lee said the label forced her to put a male singer on the song she's the only singer and this was on a movie soundtrack back in 2003
The male is the lead singer of 12 stones. In the music video, all of 12 stones is there. They were like the introduction into Christian rock after PoD came out
The look!! 😂☠️🤦♂️ excellent comedic editing y’all 💥
Been waiting on this one!!
The guy singing is from a band called 12 stones. The drummer plays in two Christian metal bands; Living Sacrifice & Soul Embraced.
So it's the Architypal hero storyline that flows through almost every great work of literature that have ever existed and all the best movies of all time. It seems to run through the core of human instinct, from the biblical stories to idea of the Prince slaying the dragon to rescue the Princess to Marvel movies and the Harry Potter series, it's just everywhere. Nice observation Brad.
BTW I just subscribed. I love your videos and I don't normally watch react channels but I am a fan of Brad and Lex
The guy singing with her is from a band called 12 Stones ), Lie To Me, is a great song by them
"Oh, big daddy save me." Hahaha 😂
Awesome reaction. Love this one. Imaginary though, is my favorite Evanescence song.
Looking forward to more.
Yep, NuMetal. You guys are right. I love me some Evanescence! Awesome stuff!!!
Evanescence is a band and Amy Lee is the lead singer, got to see them in concert before and i sent Amy Lee my Evanescence Fallen cd in the mail and she signed it for me
The references to a movie brad is wondering about is the Neverending Story. In the movie the childlike empress asked sebastion (the main character) to call her name and save her from the darkness. Another name for that darkness in the movie is the Nothing. Amy lee sings "call my name and save me from the dark" and "the nothing I have become"
The guy is Paul McCoy the lead singer from 12 Stones.
Aww, I was hoping to see your reactions to the video for this song. It never fails to elicit some strong reactions.
The back ground band is from my hometown. Which is cool....to me. haha 12 Stones. Song was for the movie Dare Devil
Grew up with this song in my mid teens, still so good.
Ive watched alot of yalls reactions. Love em! Ive noticed that Lex seems to notice the subtle details of metal guitar. Everyone hears the hard and heavy distorted power chords. But her facial expression changes with the subtle details of guitar. Get that girl an Ibanez RG550, a Blackstar Club 40 amp and stand back!
Amy is an incredible singer is saw her after she left the band performing at the peace center with a half orchestra it was awesome
I love your reactions ❤
I love your reactions 😂❤
Oh wow! Prepare to have you mind blown! This song just gives me chills everywhere. Even in my brain!
Sweet!! Evanescence is a great combination . My children laughed at me for liking her.
This song was ALL over the radio when it came out. It was in the Daredevil movie (along with My Immortal, which you should definitely check out the rock version of because it is beautiful).
The male vocalist in the chorus is the lead singer of a GREAT Christian rock band called 12 Stones and I absolutely cannot recommend them enough. Broken, Soulfire, Fade Away, Crash, My Life, The Last Song, Bitter, Stay, 3 Leaf Loser, Waiting for Yesterday, In Closing, Photograph, Lifeless, Far Away...seriously, you got to check them out. I think you'll like them a lot.
And just for the heck of it while I'm plugging Christian rock groups I have to mention Skillet (absolute MUST), Thousand Foot Krutch (bit of a rock/rap fusion similar to Linkin Park), and Pillar. Skillet, there's really no "wrong" place to start but I'd say go with Freakshow, Not Gonna Die (extended/full version), Circus for a Psycho, Monster, to be honest I could list recommendations all day so I gotta make myself move on. TFK I'd say start "old school" with Puppet, Bounce, I Climb, Ordinary, Faith Love And Happiness, Last Words, then go "new school" with Untraveled Road, War of Change, Courtesy Call, and Fire it Up. And for Pillar I'd recommend Fireproof, Holding On, Simply, Rewind, Staring Back, One Thing, A Shame, Light at my Feet, Just to Get By, and Indivisible.
And just for the heck of it, Flyleaf and Fireflight, for a couple of great woman-fronted rock bands. There really is just too much great music I want to share.
The guy singing in this song isn’t in the band. He is a singer in a band called 12 Stones.
Brad nailed it. "She can sing sing" for real, brad👍
I LOVE EVANESCENCE. Y'all should definitely listen to more of them.
