But almost none of the characters from the previous game made a return and sure we got a few returning characters plus some new one but they just there for the sake of the Cross Change, they hardly add anything to the story other than "when you can't use Megaman use them instead" and most of them are not that memorable tbh. It would've interesting to see and fight all of the old Adversaries/Bosses from previous games and see how much they've gotten stronger. And Boss stage at the end they literally just reused 3 stage from the previous bosses in the game the Aquarium, Tree and Cloud. Not to mention they cut out all of Boktai bonus. So yeah like I said underwhelming.
I remember watching it as a kid and having a... strange fascination with the scene when they were trying to resist jumping for the ball. There was just something so... aluring in their tails rising. Today though, I don't feel anything towards that scene.

Gotta love that how in the original Mega Man games Skull Man was the ultimate combat robot built by Cossack's hands, a masterpiece meant to destroy built by a man who wanted nothing but to create but was forced to construct this engine of war for the sake of his daughter's life... but in Battle Network SkullMan.exe looks like it kidnaps children in the dead of night and drags them to its lair where it can peel away their flesh and bones to get to the sweet soul hidden underneath. Just a weird contrast.
