04:52 That was very funny to hear 🙂
You pronounced Deutch as Dutch / but Nederlands = Dutch and Deutch = German
However i'm new to your channel and watched a lot of video's already i love your way to make thinks clear. I don't remember what video it was but i was searching for some Wireguard information and i got it up and running in about 5-10 minutes on my Local & VPS after watching your video about that🙂
I was looking for an particular setup way to access things and Wireguard does this out of the box if you just enter the IP subnets 🙂

Hello, could you do a video on Saltcorn as well? Its a no-code platform; basically an interface to manage databases and build apps upon it. Its very good but not a lot of guides that are easy to understand and deploy for the average user. Thank you in advance. Keep up the great work :)

These instrunctions are not working anymore, if you use the current pull from baserow git repository and run the docker-compose.yml file , you get an error : port 5432 failed: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "baserow" on docker-compose up . I have followed the steps exactly as mentioned. Please help me on fixing this for the latest version

So here is my Use Cases & Feature request: GraphQL support, like what Stapi offers, would be a killer feature for Baserow. So that I could use Baserow as my Django-based Backend that is my Database/-source for WeWeb (a fronted builder for scalable no code react and vue based web-apps). I love building the front end in WeWeb using their GraphQL integration, so a dynamic Baserow GraphQL endpoint would be perfect. While WeWeb has a good rest API integration (which Baserow already supports), that can be used instead of GraphQL, the development experience with GraphQL is something else I don't want to miss.
Basedow is what I've been looking for (since it's Django-based and open source).
What a great video! Thanks for sharing!

I haven't tried NocoDB, so not sure I could give you any advice on it, but Baserow was super easy to use, which for me is really nice. For eCommerce, definitely depends on what you're trying to build with any of these systems.

Dude I just had so many ideas we could use this for. I work for a non profit so we use quite a few open source software and self hosted offerings. I am already pretty much in love with this product, but having some basic way to do an approval flow built in would totally round this product out. I have went back through and watched a ton of your old videos on things you have found I didn't even know existed. Thank you for all the cool things you continue to show us!!!!

Thanks for the video. This looks great and I’m wondering if I can use this with a client to setup a booking workflow. They have a head office that takes calls and assigns jobs to on-site people. The on-site people do the job and then populate the remainder of the form to finish it off. The client already has something they have designed with another SaaS product but I want to see if Baserow could achieve the same result with less pain. Cheers 😊

So, it may be a permissions issue. You might want to check the Baserow docs and see i they'ave added something for differing permissions needed. Also, did you already have docker / docker-compose, or did you install it for this specifically? If you installed it for this, then you may need to add your user to the docker group, and then log out, and back in in order to get the new group chnages to take effect.

I use memento on android. They can link with Google sheets for cloud access (Sheets is text data only though). I like the 1 tap input shortcut but their import/export is nonstandard. I'll look into this, structured input is so useful for smartphone notes as I hate typing, but cloud access and standardized formats are major features for my database usage...

Hey Brian, Following for a long time but just pulled up the courage to setup my own server. It has been two days and I already figured out nginx. I wanted to set up baserow and nocodb badly. I was good with nocodb, but baserow setup conflicts with port 80 and 443. in the video you mentioned that you will show where to make change for the port, but I couldn't noticed where you said that. Can you please elaborate on that. I am stuck on the port!!

    • @AwesomeOpenSource
      @AwesomeOpenSource  Рік тому

So, in the .env file when I was talking about the caddy port, that's where you want to make that change. Then in the docker-compose file you'll need to make that same change for caddy in the caddy section. That should do it. Just make caddy listen on a different port, and then use NPM to send the traffic to that port.

Question: Baserow is cost per user. Does that mean those building the apps or users filling out the forms. If it's for those filling out the forms, then this won't work for us, we have thousands of users filling out forms but very few building the apps.

    • @AwesomeOpenSource

Hi Duncan, if you're just sharing the forms to be filled out, you wouldn't be charged for that, no. Only certain types of roles get charged as users. You could have one user creating forms and have those shared forms filled out by thousands of people. In that case, you'd only pay for one user.

Asf ro containerized vs. non-containerized, I focus on containers, because they give you so much more capability to run multiple applications, and not create a giant file system mess.
