Bought Rad Mini Step Thru's last year as well as Sena Bluetooth Helmets, one of the best purchases we have made. Both of us appreciate the fact that you can do 1-5 on assist and at 67 YOA, this is Game Changing on Hills!!!!!
ProTip: Always always always turn pedal assist to 0 or the bike off when stopping. Otherwise you may inadvertently turn the grip throttle causing the bike to accelerate unexpectedly. Happened to me and the bike plowed into a bike rack and popped a wheely before I realized what was happening. Luckily no people were in front of the bike and no one was riding on the back of the bike.
So cool! Anxiously awaiting delivery of our E-Bikes! We have 3 kids and ended up buying a Radwagon 4 and 2 Lectric bikes. We are in the process of buying a Class C and thought the bikes would be a great compromise to not having a Toad. You’re the first people I’ve seen review these bikes who’ve shown that you can put a seat on the back, solutions for biking with kids. Really appreciate that.
We got our Lectric bikes almost a year ago and have over 1300 miles on them just from this year already! Love them. Wife just got her new 2.0 for the suspension aspect and loves that one as well. Yes, you can still get exercise using an ebike! I ride mine in PS0 or PS1 (mostly so I can throttle across an intersection quicker from a dead stop due to the extra weight, about 65 lbs) so I do get quite a workout. We usually get about 45 miles or so on a single charge. Of course that depends on your own weight ( I’m 6’3” and 2#@lbs), the type of road whether it’s gravel, dirt or asphalt/concrete and how much air you have in your tires. We get stopped all of the time by people asking about our bikes. Actually Lectric should sponsor me as I do believe I’ve sold a few for them. We are on our journey to ride our bikes in all 50 states which we started a number of years ago with our conventional bikes having only 14 left to go.
64 Gallon Plastic Bins! That’s the secret to transporting these easily. We have two of the first versions and they were difficult to put in and out of the car because of the heavy weight. With the bins you fold the bikes up an put them in the bins. Super easy to move them around as they slide around and won’t get scratched up as easy.
You will love them! We got ours on a Kickstarter about three years ago and I think we paid under 1,000 for two. They are now selling for about (Mate is the brand) 2,000 each. Really nice for uphill climbs. Con is they are heavy at 50# ea. First, we put them in the bed of the truck and just too heavy to lift. Then Tom made a board with clips that the front locked in. Had to remove the front wheel. Put down a yoga mat put the board crossways on the mat and bikes clip into the board. They fit between the couch and dinette. Now just this week we bought 2 - 40 gallon totes and folded up the bikes and they fit perfectly in the tote. So they will still fit between the couch and the dinette but we don't have to remove the front wheel. So hopefully this will be the final resting place. The last thing in and the first thing out!! Happy trails.....love these comments don't you? :)
That was so sad JJ getting his curls cut a bit. I’m glad there was curl still left there. Nice you all in ebikes. The kids look like they love them. That’s a nice park you went riding in. Nice that park was the one you both met first at. That’s romantic. Hope you have a great day and and week and stay safe from the storms in Tennessee. My older sister lives near Nashville where the flooring is. So I’m hoping you all are alright and safe. Love you all.😊❤️ Have fun on the bikes.
We recently got e-bikes and Sena helmets. If you like gadgets you find these helmets a huge step up. We wanted to talk to each other while biking and these helmets allow up to 8 people to talk on the mesh network. Really cool and practical if you are biking with kids.
OMG! I laughed so hard at that - "you have to redo it when you didn't follow instructions"...."no. no. no....that's not going to happen..." LOLOL!! I have a husband like that...but both mine and yours were able to put these bikes together pretty well without reading the instructions! ;) (You can download instructions from the Lectric website if you haven't already)
WHAT? Your comments are back!!!!!!!!! Must have missed that episode...They were off for soooo long I never looked...Great. I guess I wasn't paying attention. My wife and I have been cycling for years. 50-60 mile a day week long B&B/camping/hotel/fundraisers etc. Tandemed for 15 years+. But now we are closer to 70 and have moved to E-assisted bikes. They have allowed us to continue cycling on our journey. Currently on our way out for 6 weeks RVing around Ontario 😷🇨🇦😷 and will be riding as much as possible!
JJ’s hair 🥰❤️🥰 And Hensley is just THE Sweetest! I was a little concerned she didn’t have more of a secure kind of seat on the bike but I guess she’s a big girl now! 😊 I think we’d love to have eBikes someday.
Gosh I love you guys and your journey!! This is the first time I saw Hensley’s so grown up and she is still Daddy’s little girl with Mommies special charm! Marisa I cried when I saw you were cutting JJ ‘s hair and so relieved to see curls left ! Love the monster hair when he wakes up!! Thanks so much for sharing! Enjoy the ebikes as I know they are wonderful for myself and my dog.
My husband and I just went on a waiting list for a different brand of ebike down in Ohio Amish country on Friday! I have always liked the Lectric bikes and when we saw your video, my husband went online and ordered two of them plus the suspension seat! I know we won't probably see them for months, but at least we'll have them! Thanks so much for your honest review of these bikes and for sharing your fun journey through life! God Bless!
Several trails aren't allowing ebikes and I for one hope more follow suit. If they were all like this it wouldn't be a problem but many current bikes run 30-40 mph on walking trails. I would love to have an ebike.
Ya know your doctor would tell you that a regular bike is better for your heart and lungs, but you don't always have to do what your doctor tells you. Loved the "catch you guys later" from Hensley at the end. Keep the good stuff coming and give the kids a hug and a kiss for me.
Mine didn’t come with instructions! It’s also too high for me. I got the white one like you have and it’s probably about 6” too high for me (5’2”). It also came with a couple of keys we couldn’t find a place for. A handful of little things we’re trying to figure out. And I definitely won’t be folding the bike up. It’s way too heavy for me to lift. Finally found where the key goes thanks to you. I had to turn the camera view around on my phone so I could practically stand on my head to get it in the key hole. We’re charging the battery so it’s going to have to wait. And my shake down ride will be brief. It’s 30° out!!
We love our Rads, I have the Rover 5 and wife has City Step Thru. Super fun to ride on either. Longest ride was 27 miles and still had half a battery left. Congrats on the bikes and enjoy 👍🏻 Highly recommend Sean helmets as well. The wireless commas are awesome. We can be about a 1/2 mile apart and still communicate clearly. You can pair up to 4 so long term the kiddos can get them too.
Happy for you guys to have gotten your eBikes, we got ours last July. We have Lectric 1.0 we love them even though they are not as nice as yours. We needed them to fold because we have lost several bikes off the back of our RV, the bike racks have failed us sonI was not willing to put 2 grands worth of bikes on the back. One rides in the back seat of our truck and the other was in the middle of the RV between slides in a 50 Gal container but now rides in our basement folded of course, my wife enjoys it but is not as exited about it because they really pack a good punch of power. Enjoy them but don’t put them on the back of the RV or get a certified eBike rack. Best of luck
We have two Juiced bikes being delivered today! I'm excited to experience an e-bike since I have never even ridden one. We decided on Juiced over other brands because I wanted more range and power to explore when we are camping. The Juiced comes with a 54v battery and is more advanced as far as the electronics are concerned. The downside to the Juiced bikes are they are more expensive. I'll be making a video about our experience with them. Thanks for sharing your new toys with us! It makes me super excited for FedEx to roll up today!!!!

KUDOS for a great share and video! I have been looking at them too for some time, glad you pointed out the improvements in 2.0 version, hence a small increase in price, but also was looking at Rad, as I ran across a mom at a childrens' museum, and she had the seat in the back for her little one and cargo space for her diaper bag etc.... it was a Rad her husband chose for her. I am at the other end of scale, in my 70's and would allow me to still get some more exercise, with a bad knee.... so again thanks SO MUCH for sharing, will be saving up now ... Love this!!! E-bikes are RAD and Marissa you are so right! They are the great equalizer when it comes to two people of different riding capabilities riding together and having more fun! When able, I would suggest bringing them to a local bike shop! There are some more minute adjustments that the manual/instructions do not prepare you to make on your own. Now that they are assembled, take them to a professional mechanic to look over the bikes and give them a thumbs up for best long-term performance. 👍 Ride on!!! 🚲💨💨💨
I’m 60 plus and have owned an ebike for 4 years now and love it! I can go longer, faster, and further (if I want). Sure levels off the hills but I'm usually pedaling so I get some exercise! 😉
You guys will have so much fun with these. I have 1.0 stepthru and am close to 500 miles in a year (6 months of which cold weather so no riding). My husband has over 1300 miles on his reg. 1.0which we got 2 years ago when they first came out. I had the 1.0 regular one but when the stepthru came out last year I opted to buy that since I am only 5'1" tall!! Happy XPing!!!
I see ebikes in our future when we become 1/2 timers (our plan is to be on the road about 1/2 the year). Sad how many get stolen so nice you can store your inside. Enjoy the road and stay safe.
Yay glad you love your bikes. We got some last summer and ride every day now. I’d suggest getting some Sena bike helmets so you can communicate with each other when riding - changes the dynamic when riding.
Important! When you're going around corners, look ahead of yourself. Don't look down in front of the bike. This works the same with motorcycles and with cars.
I have a pedal assist trike and the bicycle store told me to always have it set to “1” because on “0” it is hard on your knees because of the additional weight of the battery. I really enjoy my trike, I am sure you will have fun on your bikes!
it's NOT the battery that is 750 watts vs 500 watts.. it's the motor.. and by the way, the has a finite amount of power vs. a mid drive which can take advantage of the gearing advantage of your chain/derailleur combination
When we rented RAD bikes they told us that they were so heavy that assist 1 was the same as a regular bike, then 2-4 gave you more and more help. Using 0 assist is more work than a regular street bike! We loved them.
We got the RAD wagons. Love them. Thought we'd haul more "stuff", than we have so far. They are big and heavy. We did figure out how to get them into our cargo door but it takes two people. Considering a toyhauler so it's easier to load them and take our kayaks too. You can get all the workout you want. We're building our stamina and enjoying the rides without worry we won't have enough energy to get back. We are 63 and 66 years old.
Those bikes seem great! We've been seriously considering buying some in the future now that the prices have been going down like you said. My husband Kevin retrofitted our mountain bikes into e-bikes years ago and we have gotten so much use out of them but they are showing their age now. They'll last a bit longer though. It opens so many options for family bike rides. We currently tow a bike trailer but will probably add a a tag-along bike soon for our daughter. You're right, you still get a workout but can go so much further!
Welcome to the Lectric bike family! We have the 1.0s (that we love SO muh) but are eagerly awaiting the 2.0s. Marissa, I use that PAS system like it's going out of style, up up up down down up, LOL. I'm sure by now you got it down. Here's to More Journey.
Looks like a great investment for your family travels. Please give us an update after you’ve had them awhile. We are senior travelers and have been contemplating this purchase. I personally am concerned about the weight being a small person. Thank you for sharing!
Seeing some stories about fires with these batteries. Just putting that on your radar, but you guys already have so many lithiums in your home its a risk you have already accepted. Be safe out there guys!
We do have trikes, and after nearly a year's wait, my husband has a Bose motor for his! Due to the pandemic, they were significantly back ordered. They are made by Catrike, and we do love them. Too many of our friends had injuries falling with their bikes so we bit the bullet and bought the trikes. A very good move for us. We have yet to figure out how to travel with them with our RV, but it will happen.
Awwwww I love the story about that park. So sweet! ❤❤❤❤ And why do all kid's everywhere pretend the ground is lava!?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 We will have to consider electric bikes...🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Curious to know how you are transporting them in your rig. We have a reflection 31mb so the best we have come up with is setting them on the bottom bunk. We only have 2 right now but getting a third so have to figure something out for that.
Hello we really enjoy watching your channel and experiencing what y'all are experiencing we too have the electric e-bikes and use your link to purchase the saddle that Hensley uses but we have a question about the footrest. My husband can't figure out how to get the footrest on was there anything you had to do to make it work it looks like there's not enough space for the footrest attachment
Great advice, we are still using our Walmart bikes! At our age, there are no young kids. How do you plan on storing them in your rig? What are the weight differences?
Wow. I’m very curious since you don’t often mention them. Do you still have your Lectric xp 2.0 bikes? They have a good deal on the 2.0 long range models. Curious if they’re worth a look or should I go for the 3.0 🤔 thanks and happy Rv’ing
Is there an age limit for those bikes .... just wondering when will Hensley get one .... oh .... I just thought that they may be to heavy for her to handle ..... ( Duh ) answering my own questions here .... See what you have missed all of these years that I could not leave a comment ... !!! .... Hugs
Y'all did a great job for your maiden voyage!! I have a Charge (looks like a beach bike) that does NOT like any type of gravel and I still have the scars to prove it. I do enjoy feeling more athletic. The assist is an awesome feature that helps me keep up with my much more active hubby. Enjoy.
Bought Rad Mini Step Thru's last year as well as Sena Bluetooth Helmets, one of the best purchases we have made. Both of us appreciate the fact that you can do 1-5 on assist and at 67 YOA, this is Game Changing on Hills!!!!!

We're building our stamina and enjoying the rides without worry we won't have enough energy to get back. We are 63 and 66 years old.
Cake is cake!😎
Safe travels and good health
Those bikes seem great! We've been seriously considering buying some in the future now that the prices have been going down like you said. My husband Kevin retrofitted our mountain bikes into e-bikes years ago and we have gotten so much use out of them but they are showing their age now. They'll last a bit longer though. It opens so many options for family bike rides. We currently tow a bike trailer but will probably add a a tag-along bike soon for our daughter. You're right, you still get a workout but can go so much further!
Looks like so much fun. I ordered one on June 5th, supposed to get it Tuesday. We'll see. Thanks for sharing.
Whoo hoo!!!!
Hope you guys are ok....here Tennessee is dealing with bad weather....
We are good, thank you.
You will have to bring them up to Mackinac island
Welcome to the Lectric bike family! We have the 1.0s (that we love SO muh) but are eagerly awaiting the 2.0s. Marissa, I use that PAS system like it's going out of style, up up up down down up, LOL. I'm sure by now you got it down. Here's to More Journey.
Whoo hoo! Love them.
Those are amazing and beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
Thank you!! That’s so helpful!!!
Glad it was helpful, thank you.
Love Cane Creek! ☺️
We love our lectric.
Check out settings p9, p10,p21 on page 30 in your owners manual. You won't be sorry. Just got ours this week!
Will do. Thanks Deb!
Whoo hoo!!!!
Looks like a great investment for your family travels. Please give us an update after you’ve had them awhile. We are senior travelers and have been contemplating this purchase. I personally am concerned about the weight being a small person. Thank you for sharing!
They are about 70lbs but they are awesome.
Seeing some stories about fires with these batteries. Just putting that on your radar, but you guys already have so many lithiums in your home its a risk you have already accepted.
Be safe out there guys!
Great story about the park and the memories it holds for you. You guys are such a great couple and great parents. Love those bikes!
Cool bikes, I am sure you got a couple of great locks for those bad boys!
For sure! That is an extra step now.
Great job Nathan. Instructions are just some other guy’s opinion.
That's funny. 😂
What a fun video! So happy for you! Marissa, you look amazing! How did you get so fit? Any tips? ❤️🌷
Sorry I wish we had fitness tips to share. We just try to workout whenever we can.
So Awesome!!!
I would really like see tricycle Lectric bikes with either 2 wheels in back or 2 in front for stability of older riders.
They are available. Not from this company. But they are out there.
Terra Trike is non electric and ptsoxh makes a electric trike for those wondering
I have an electric Sun trike. It is great!
Forget the ebikes Marissa was taking a stroll down memory lane at that park you were at!
🙂
I hope that seat stays comfortable for Hensley.
So far so good!
Love this
Those bikes are awesome
Comments are back! YAY! 😁😁😁😁😁
Where did you get the foot pegs for a passengers for your Lectric ebike?
Awwwww I love the story about that park. So sweet! ❤❤❤❤ And why do all kid's everywhere pretend the ground is lava!?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We will have to consider electric bikes...🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Good question! Fun game we guess.
Curious to know how you are transporting them in your rig. We have a reflection 31mb so the best we have come up with is setting them on the bottom bunk. We only have 2 right now but getting a third so have to figure something out for that.
We have a small fifth wheel. One is kept folded up between couch and table and the other is folded up on floor in back seat of truck.
Wow your back!!😁😁😁👍
Yes 😁
@@LessJunkMoreJourney nice to see that..we go back many years together.
My husband and I bought the very first Lectric bikes back in 2019. Love them! Enjoy!
We just attached it to the frame.
@@LessJunkMoreJourney Thank you do much for replying back so fast. My husband found a way to make it work. Hope to see y'all out there. 😃❤️
Great advice, we are still using our Walmart bikes! At our age, there are no young kids. How do you plan on storing them in your rig? What are the weight differences?
Good question, that is a work in progress. Hopefully we will have an answer in this week's video. 🙂
Love the fact that the park holds special memories it's so sweet. Loving the electric bikes so cool. Great vlog thanks for sharing. ❤❤🇬🇧
Thank you so much 🤗
What does this bike weigh? Concerned i wont be able to lift it up into the back of my SUV. Love the 64 gallon bin idea
They are about 65 lbs.
Do these have a throttle or pedal assist?
Wow. I’m very curious since you don’t often mention them. Do you still have your Lectric xp 2.0 bikes? They have a good deal on the 2.0 long range models. Curious if they’re worth a look or should I go for the 3.0 🤔 thanks and happy Rv’ing
Yes we have the 2.0 and love them.
Love the bikes and so awesome you all can see so much for as a family! Enjoy!!
I love lectric! We got saddlebags and the suspension seats on a deal on Black Friday! So if you can wait that long do it.
How is family with the flooding in Tennessee
We are good, thank you.
Nice one
Awesome, we also have E bikes and we have dog seats on them so we take our pups with us ,they love it!
What a wonderful addition to your adventure toolbox! Very excited to see where these bikes take you all! 🖖🏻🙏🏻👍🏻😘
Is there an age limit for those bikes .... just wondering when will Hensley get one .... oh .... I just thought that they may be to heavy for her to handle ..... ( Duh ) answering my own questions here .... See what you have missed all of these years that I could not leave a comment ... !!! .... Hugs
We love our bikes. Enjoy
Y'all did a great job for your maiden voyage!! I have a Charge (looks like a beach bike) that does NOT like any type of gravel and I still have the scars to prove it. I do enjoy feeling more athletic. The assist is an awesome feature that helps me keep up with my much more active hubby. Enjoy.
How about Hensley’s seat cushion? Poor girls sitting on a metal frame.😉
No she does have a cushion seat, you must have missed that. 🙂
