- A quick look at my DIY Garden Office - Games Room Build.
In this video I cut and fit the PIR insulation for the walls, showing the easiest and cleanest method of cutting PIR insulation, I've tried lots of methods, and this is definitely the best.

@@speedyrazor1 have enjoyed all your build videos and good that you reference Ali Dymock. I have just finished insulating the base with my father-in-law and soon learnt the error of going for too tight a fit. Have just spent all receiving all my timber and cutting studs. Hope to have the walls up before the weekend. Insulation for the cold roof had me scratching my head until a few good UA-cam videos pointed me in the right direction. Made sure my overall height could accommodate 150mm ceiling joists, leaving me the recommended 50mm void above the 100mm insulation. Also putting in vented soffits and narrower noggins so that I get a good cross flow of air. Lots to think about and do! Stay safe. BW Jim
@@jimcrawley7363 that sounds great Jim, cold roofs certainly are more of a challenge, especially if you're keen on using downlights, which I am. A bonus for me was having the rear of my build being higher, so I built a small retaining wall, which helped with the 2.5 m height limit. I'll be posting a video on how I'm doing my downlights and still keep some insulation above them shortly.
@@speedyrazor1 Cheers Kev. Will watch your lighting video with interest. At the moment I am leaning towards LED strips around the wall perimeter on top of a discrete feature rail. Discussed with an electrician after seeing it done in another video. I can send you the link if you are interested.

Blade seemed to work really well and not produce too much mess - definitely worth the purchase.
Hi Patrick, yes, PIR is 90mm, studs are 100mm, but come in closer to about 95mm, so the 90mm PRI fits well. The Blades are not cheap, but defianlety wort it if you have a lot of PIR to cut (www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00D5YVNEA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

This video is the best method for the following reasons:
1) you can actually cut 100mm+ in one pass
2) you can run next to a fence/guide to get a straight line
3) using a power-tool reduces work load - also requires less hard breathing near to dust
4) It uses a common power-tool or one that can be bought cheaply enough, unlike Festool
5) produces less dust if not the least amount of dust of any option

Or one could purchase T313 (bosch blade for up to 100mm) £12+ pack of 3
Milwaukee make a blade but believe it's made by bosch for them...?
Can a 152mm jigsaw blade be used for 100mm insulation boards?

You made a video to show how you cut with a blade from bosch soft material, but you forget to give the reference, length , price approximate of the blade.
Straight edge, retractable knife, 2 cuts per side. No dust and clean accurate cuts
You should mark it with the end of the tape it's much quicker and no less accurate.
I'm not an electrition but you need to be careful of not wrapping wire in insulation if possible as it can heat up if you don't have the correct value of wire in place especially if your using electric heaters.
Shame you didn't taped the boards around the edges.
