I have a 1964 that looks like it just came off the presses beautiful shape adverse reverse also D mint mark on next to Monticello I can't afford to get a graded but I swear after all the years I've been around coins this was great out easily at a ms67 68 plus

I have 2 complete mint sets 1c to the Kennedy 90% half , which also includes the silver dime and quarter. They all look extremely nice!! But, theres one 1964 nickel that is beautifully sort of goldish color tone. Please someone show me how to tell if Im not excited like this for no reason and about to become wealthy!! Oh please lord it sure would be nice if just one of the 10 were special!!

Ok, so the SMS coins didn't realy leave the mint, the Eva woman that was mint director took them to her house and as I read it, they got bought up during her estate sale in early 1990's. I find it hard to believe no-one else knew these 1964 SMS coins were minted as a trial for the next three year SMS sets. The guy buying them appeaerently knew, I believe he bought most if not all of them.. Cool story and all, but she realy wanted the all the first SMS coins to sneak them to her house an set there till the 90's. Satin finish... chicks dig satin I guess.

The pocket change report does not contain graded coins.
In regards to the 64 SMS nickel and he says every one of them has been accountable. I have several sets that say right there on it on the envelope sms from 1964. Please telling me that's not what they are or these are different SMS set. What was was really going on here.. The reason I ask is I happen to have a 1964 quarter with deep cameo. Whatever you want to call it. Ultra Cameo both sides. I'd love to sell that thing. I have yet to get it graded I just found it a the month or so ago anyways. Is it not an SMS to me? It says so on the envelope when you just sms that 1964 SMS set what it says. So what is he talking about?..
Yea I would like to know what the deal is myself because I have 2 complete in the plastic mint package 1964 mint sets. Extremely beautiful coins , all 10 of them but there's one half dollar looks like the special hair strike and a nickel with beautiful goldfish tone tint that makes it truly stand out.
@@stevenmills9682 Cool so it's not just me who's confused. What I know or what I think I know is that they made the "SMS" sets in 1964, 1965, 1966 and 1967. After 67 they went back to making proof sets cuz so many collectors bitches about it. I have SMS sets from 64 and 65. The both 65 sets have .50¢ ( half dollars that have Cameo on them and SMS sets are not supposed to have coins with cameo on them. So yeah I'm deeply confused as to what SMS sets he's talking about. To hear him talk about it they only made 15-20 sets and the person who ran the mints kept them all for himself ( talk about a conflict of interest, right) and they only got out to the public after he died and one of his children or someone tried sell them. It doesn't make sense because I have at least five SMS/PRROF sets that say that their SMS sets from 64 and 65 and you're saying you have a couple so that that's almost half of what he says are there, right? So it doesn't make sense. It must be a different kind of SMS set that they're talking about.
@TommyBaldwin652 I agree either someone is trying to bullshit somebody to keep all the money to themselves, maybe? , or someone doesn't know everything there is to know about the subject. I will be the first to admit that I'm more than confused but frustrated that I can't seem to get a straight answer from anybody. Just conflicting statements or ideas according to what I have and see for fact. I don't know man and then it's always OH NO ITS A WASTE OF MONEY TO GET THEM GRADED!! Why may I ask? I makes the value increase without a doubt , I mean from what we can get upgraded ya know? Because the ones who ate buying are telling us only the ONES THEY HAVE are the right ones. I may be wrong and I really hope I am cause this dude truly does know his stuff but is he being STR8 with his knowledge and wisdom to those maybe not so informed. @TommyBaldwin652 And also to ad on to what you were saying like I said I have two complete 1964 mint package the little brown envelope with the card from the mint saying that these coins had been thoroughly inspected while being packaged at the mint and were found to be in proof conditions and the coins are sealed in the clear thin plastic wrapping and heatsealed each coin in the plastic and I also have the 1966 and 1967 Hard plastic cases that came in the original government package being small rectangular boxes that state 1966 SMS and 1967 SMS. Then I also have the 1968 S Mint proof set as well as 1he 1968 uncirculated coins set P&D. Of which get this , they didn't include a Kennedy Half in the Philadelphia set. Instead they give you a S mint penny in place of a 40% Kennedy!! What's up with that??
