  • Politics and religion is a question of our times. The role of the church and Christianity is contested in both Russia and the liberal West.
William Blake was aware of the failure of politics in his time, recognising it wasn't ultimately a failure of leadership or practical solutions but of vision.
What politics is for? What role do religious institutions play in it? What has been lost in the Babylon materialism of today?
Blake applied his deepest perceptions and devised a dynamic fourfold schema that can guide us through the blindness and failure of our times.
    It is radical and pressing.

This is truly wonderful. I love the idea of Jerusalem emerging and radiating out of Golgonooza and of the immortal emerging from the body. As often happens with your work, this goes beyond an intellectual vision into something felt.

Marvelous insights. Many tears fell when you were speaking of what the structure of Golgonooza was made of and I rejoice in its discovery. Wish everyone could hear this beautiful vision you share here. This talk is one to listen to over and over for it is brimming with goodness and helpful ways to stay aware of the wonder of life and how to strive for deep kindness and seeing education as the transformation of self and a pathway of evolutionary thinking that embodies love and finds love and growth in the struggles. Thank you.
Also these ideas you share here, these tools of expansive thought and beauty help me recalibrate hope and navigate the rage, grief and overwhelming powerlessness I feel when i see the daily images of death and destruction in Ukraine and the daily hate and division constantly fomented by the greedy, power hungry, and many who claim to be Christian, who use toxic political propaganda to keep many here in America sick and lost.

16:00 Reminds me of what is described in H. Bortoft's Goethe's Way of Science. The heaven in wildflower is the whole reflected in the part (the minute particular). Bortoft keeps hammering on the point that abstraction devitalizes (ignores the particular qualities in favor of commonalities) and it directly opposed to the other way of doing science, which is the training of poetic vision which sees the whole reflected in the parts (which is itself part of the whole). It is the All in All. His book quite nicely maps onto your thinking in this respected, Mark.
Seems to me, now that I think about it, that the Gadamer's hermeneutics is a good way to train the poetic vision through imaginative engagement and perpetual interpretation of the natural world.

“To Christ the only existent one”
There is only Christ (& AntiChrist in that which is becoming).
All choice is ultimately false beyond that reality. Which will manifest personally to each of us.
