I think it would've been symbolic but I'm not the writers so it'll only be a thought. ^~^

Let me clear this up for you guys; Eli left school for a mental health break to receive treatment and such for his mental illness. The whole concept of Eli walking away smiling and Clare behind him is Eli is moving past the relationship and not getting help her her (or any other girl) but for himself.

I used to like them back at the beginning of S10, and a little bit of S11, but I found their realtionship to be too overwhelming and destructive for both of them. I feel both Eli and Clare have their own things to deal with at the time being, (Eli with working on dealing with is diagnosis of bi polar etc, and Clare dealing with her new family) I just really don't see them working as a couple, maybe if a reunion happened later on with build up I wouldn't mind them, not nor at the moment.
