alright, let me explain the halloween and the saw one. the reason she went to unmask micheal in halloween resurrection is because in the previous movie, halloween: H2O, she decapitated an innocent man, whose voice box had been broken and he was dressed up to look like micheal by micheal himself and when she "captured" the fake micheal she killed him and was traumatized, so she wanted to be sure that this time it was actually him. and now for saw. im not going to explain the whole plot of the movie (go watch it yourself its an amazing horror movie), but basically, if he wouldnt have cut off his leg he would have been killed or locked in the bathroom. also him getting to the phone wouldnt have done much, he would have been locked in the bathroom anyway. him cutting off his leg is the reason he lived. basically with context these two dont seem that dumb anymore do they?

They don't seem to get why Will Smith's character blew himself up. He has seen everyone around him die, including his dog who was the last living being connecting him to his previous life. He devoted everything he had to making a cure and finally succeeded. Now there was nothing left for him to live for, so better to make sure the grenade hits the target, instead of throwing it and hoping for the best. The ending was fine as far as im concerned.
I agree. The emotional aspect of it aside, I think what he did was very logical because his intention was to clear a path for Anna and her son. If he just threw the grenade and hoped for the best, like you said, chances are it might have not been as effective in killing the darkseekers. The ending was perfect.

I think that when you're in the most grimmest of situations, you don't end up making the smartest moves, I think that's the mindset of creators of horror movies and I think it's logical enough, like since we look at it from another perspective we think like that's so dumb and stuff, I think we similarly do that with the mistakes we do in our pasts like laying back and thinking if I had done this I could've ended up with a better result, so I think that it's totally logical for characters in horror movies to make grim mistakes

For the Halloween resurrection one lorrie tried unmasking Michael because in the previous movie she accidentally killed a paramedic who Michael had changed clothes with and had broken his voice box so lorrie wouldn't know. That's why she tried unmasking him

Charlie's decision to let the man in is arguably one of the best decisions if you watched the whole purge. The worst decision is the sister allowing his boyfriend in the house. The boyfriend planned to murder the whole family to get the sister for himself. The stranger was the reason they were all in the lobby and also the reason the Dad decided to hold on to his gun. If they were all in their bedrooms relaxing, the boyfriend could've killed them without a fight.
It's funny how few people realise that Scream is intentionally satirical and meant to be funny. It's not a comedy or a parody, really, but it is very much self-aware.

But the reason she wanted to take the mask off was because in the last movie she had killed who she thought was the killer (her brother) but it turned out not to be him. So she chose to check that it was the right guy this time so she wouldn’t kill an innocent person.
