Great insight and such an essential watch for people of all levels! Great job this year to the dev team, and hope you guys get some time to celebrate and recharge!
Thank you so much, Czar. People don’t wanna experience a new game the way that they claim, every year they wanna get on the game and play the same as they did the previous year. The swaying when attacking the rim is lovely, these are players with weight and momentum, the way that they look when rim running is amazing. People can easily control themselves if they took the time to understand, instead they’re trying to get it patched out the game when all of these things add to the experience for real basketball fans. Thank you guys for actually caring about basketball! I dreamed of basketball games playing this way when I was a kid.
@@dudeidk4890 EXACTLY 👍🏾 ppl who never watch or play ball complain yearly to get REAL mechanics removed from the game so they can beat the game and play cheesy instead of understanding how it’s supposed to work. Man… I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this vid man. Been coming across more “sim” content creators like yourself, as well as JerseyMade, Books Nelson & Kevin Cruz! Y’all do an amazing job displaying how 2K intended the game to played! Much respect fam! 🙏🏾💪🏾
My brother! Though Cruz’s video is next level you have explained the dribbling in an awesome way as well. You have expertly explained the mechanics and the thought process behind the “natural and realistic” new dribbling. You completed the circle ⭕️ Thank you!🙏
I love it !! You're forced to dribble by actually reading your defender and reacting based off what they give you. Instead of what these young cats would normally do burst outa lot of moves without knowing where their defender would be next. Thank you
Huge insights here. Was skeptical about the game like most but the way you broke down the complexities of these new mechanics made me curious to try with this new "controlling a person" approach. The game feels more real than ever on ps5 and like most things, it gets really fun once you get somewhat good / competent. Thanks for the video!
I see the vision but a large majority of players don’t want this dribble system. Especially competitive players. We want the responsiveness back. I understand we want the “visual appeal” but if yall choose to openly push for this, just know eventually people are gonna put this game down forever
Can't thank you enough for this. Just opened a whole world of opportunities with the animations I've been testing. The game is absolutely a success, coming from a day 1 2k baller
It seems I found somewhere where everyone is not just crapping on the game. It is so unbelievably improved from last year and I am so appreciative. I find it so frustrating that a lot of players are so toxic and unappreciative.. I am constantly, CONSTANTLY noticing little things that just make total sense and are intuitive and are fair outcomes. My jumpers literally go in when I’m confident, and bricks when I’m not. I am DIRECTLY reflected in my shooting. The thing about the lane steals complaint is that it is forcing people the stop throwing such absurd passes. As a guard playing park, my biggest complaint with the gameplay would be steals when you’re gathering for a lay, but in no way does it outweigh all the good. I will just say that by far my main complaint would be the other players in the game. In Europe at least, there are really really toxic people here, and they are massively underusing the huge arsenal of things in this game in favour of some high octane cocaine one dimensional gameplay. I am finding new smooth and beautiful ways to trick defenders every day that no one is using. This game is remarkable. I’ve learned how to shoot all shot types well after playing my first 2k on 24, and trying to learn how to dribble now and put it all together
33:53 @Da_Czar 🤯 I was literally giddy like a kid on a field trip when I seen you post a video then u go n show me this?! Bless you my man! I'm about to get to work this year 👷👷👷
Please remaster 2k16 the best 2k. The dribbling and speed of that game was sooo much fun. Community loved that as did I. Those were n community who never played it would be blown away
I'm a huge fan of the new setup. Every character feels really unique for the first time. It reminds me more of a fighting game than a traditional sports game. Every player has unique animations on their basic moves (like a normal jumpshot, pullback, left stick movement etc.) and then UNIQUE "COMBOS" when you start stringing together their dribbles, breakdowns and go to shots. Feels necessary to go into the lab to win on higher difficulties for the first time for me in like 15 years. We clean up a few things like the sub rotation issues and a little smarter AI coach adjustments and we'll have the best game yet I think.
First time watching! Great video with lots of info for players who are newer to strategic dribbling! I think with the right mindset dribbling could be much easier in this game just have to pay attention to your player/person dude lol watch and take note so you can then roll off of it the next time you aee it! And practice practice practice! Same with shooting dont make a new jumper and expect that after 2 or 3 games you will be hitting 70% its unrealistic! Put up 500+ shots then you can say you gave it a fair chance! Obviously if it feels terrible scrap it and try again!
It’s like playing real basketball in first person, when your weight is on your left feet when going left you can’t really get a quick launch forward, you have to “drop “ to let your right foot to propel you bursting forward.
Only played a little so far but the game feels great I HOPE THEY DONT CHANGE IT BECAUSE PEOPLE CRYING ABOUT ALL THE IMPROVEMENTS!!! Also Thank you thank you thank you for making eras rosters an option for online gameplay for all us nerds out here
Hey month into the game now, I see the vision with the fox having a bad launch with turbo, but why do none of the other dribble styles have it? Everyone uses garland bc there’s no “bad” launch. Tbh I’ve only noticed a bad launch from fox, and I’ve tried a lot of players.
u got my sub. I've been tryna explain this on my channel and twitch but ig somebody w bigger audience have to say for people to listen . even try to tell pppl nd help ppl in games.
Can you please do a video to breakdown shooting? I'm an oldhead and really miss the old shot meter. I can't get a feel for timing with the arrow or dial.
No it’s not this literally is what ruined the control and fun in the game. 2k19 and 2k20 dribbling and shooting was PEAK. This new age sim nation bs is why the game is dull and boring and why 2k still never be great again.
People complaining don't realize this is the beginning of something great. Once 2K gets ranked down and more animations/development is made this game will be truly great.
Long time brother keep up the great work we definitely appreciate it. Is there a vision of getting the cpu coaching to react more realistically and more dynamic concerning in game match up changes as well as seasonal preparation from game to game? That would really bring the realistic fundamentals that yall have been working on especially in 2k25.
I cant figure out how to do my favorite move on other 2k games. Its where you running right then you just flick the right stick over and it stops and you can go up for the shot because it breaks ankles sometimes. You could also do it the other way vice versa. I cant even remember what its called to be honest.
Then a person shouldn't be able to zig-zag cheese without losing the ball? which is why left stick dribbles , launches & feathering the stick should be in the tutorial, Are we teaching ppl to play video games or are we teaching ppl to play basketball?
Question for you. As me and my friends have been playing 2k since its inception. I have long followed you across the 2k wave from back at operation sports. I know you have some inside 2k building info now. We have been saying that a lot of the times, the offensive animations, a lot of them, not all....Look like the guys are mo capping alone. Like we jokingly, a green screen. They don't seem connected to when people are playing defense on them. And once these dribble moves hit a defender, the stuff just looks awkward and janky. Can you input some info and understanding on what's going between the defenders and the offense behind the scenes? Something has been off, for years.
How do you do misdirection moves this year like misdirection cross and behind the back i cant seem to trigger them its such a staple kill move i utilise in my bag when i hoop irl so i wish yall kept that mechanic
Hey! i just bought the game and went directly to see the tendencies of the players to see if the team added some for the "go to shot" i saw that it doesnt exist nothing like that, so in which tendencie slider the go to shot its implicated? the one that makes more sense to me its the stepbacks but i really idk
I played 2k play now online for a long time now. The main complaints i have with this years 2k is shooting. I play on high-risk high reward with the rhythm shooting, and I shoot the ball perfectly a lot of the time, and it doesn’t go in. The last thing that is OP is driving layups/dunks you pretty much can't contest them and even if you do 50% time its a foul.
in other words, instead of launching with the dribble you launch with your feet as it's supposed to be because its more realistic considering the foot planting mechanics this year. Players that have played basketball understand we launch with our back foot not the dribble in attack position
this game feels like the offense and the defense were completed in separate rooms and only came together when they were both complete there are so many load ups and foot plants on offense and I'm pretty sure the contest system we have gotten is a result of trying to put band aid over that weird incompatibility its like you flip how O and D usually are in 2k instead of making them even now we have good defense not being rewarded bc of lack of contests and easy passing lane steals and Offense essentially under utilized no one knows how to string together shot creating moves without pissing off the people they play with because they take have the clock to set up shots
