I just bought the Viva Glam II in a MAC department today, it is my first MAC lipstick, and I am in LOVE! I have been looking for a nude lipstick for such a long time, and most lipsticks just looked like foundation on my lips, but this one was absolutely perfect!! Not too pink, and not too brown, amazing!
So glad I watched this video. When you say if you don't know where to start then start with Modesty. Well I did that today and got my first ever MAC lipstick and it is PERFECT! I feel a new obsession coming on. It is just so creamy and beautiful. No wonder everyone raved about these lipsticks.

Mac - Media!! Its very Gatsby-esque like dubonett..which Id love to get my hands on! Media is like a deep burgundy. More purple than the dubonett and its a satin. It can also be much darker if its put on straight from the tube, but so beautiful.
I sometimes have that problem too, particularly with lighter colored lipsticks. My natural lip color is a darker pink than a lot of people with my same skintone, so it can make the lipstick look a bit different on me than on someone else. That's why I buy my MAC lipsticks from Nordstrom. They have a great return policy :-)
+ItzSam FromMSP I had the same experience with MAC 's Velvet Teddy . It was too brown for me , too nude and I end up buying Captive which is nothing like a nude lip . It is a nice kind of purple lipstick :) suits me perfectly :)

This is the first time I have found you on youtube. I really enjoyed this video. I started just recently collecting mac lipsticks. I love them so much. I only have like 6 or 7 so far. This really helped me. I like how you took your time and explained the texture of each one along with your opinion on each one. Also I love that you swathed them on your lips as well as your arm. And I also own hue which I absolutely hate! It's that dead kind of shade. Modesty is the perfect neutral which makes you look put together while not being too much. Please do a mac eyeshadow collection!!!! :)
My favourite is lady danger as although it is a matte shade it is a bit more creamy and a little easier to apply and is a similar shade to ruby woo or I although love snob as it is a blue based pink so works perfectly on my pale skin xx
My fave MAC lipsticks at the moment are Dare You and Brick o La. Just got Crosswires today so I will see how I fare with that. I'm starting to accumulate quite a lipstick collection, especially red tones. And may I say you're absolutely adorable and have gorgeous lips made for lipstick!

I swear everytime I see a MAC lipstick that I like and I go buy it... It ends up looking nothing like the swatches :(
