Seeing this talk of "Mythos" seems like Ifrit was supposed to be a sacrifice for Ultima to grow stronger. It's probably that's why Ifrit sometimes refuses to come out because he knows his purpose and he wants to avoid it at all costs. Seeing Clive being able to summon Ifrit that easily in the Bahamut fight, means that even Ifrit is complying now. Ifrit is definitely a bridge between all Eikons because he can borrow from them all. I called him the Eikon of Chaos before but Ifrit is more like a Guardian Eikon tbh.

I think the Ultimania databook explained it a bit what happened with Olivier. Pretty dark but it seems to suggest Olivier was either stillborn or killed at birth by Ultima but definitely turned into his puppet by then. The child was real but technically born dead but Ultimas power governed over him.
