I also think that it is a money thing, shared property thing, love each other thing. I think they love and care enough about each other that they don't want split everything up and they also want to make sure that if one of them were to pass away the other one would still get whatever they get as their spouse

Reminds me of my own parents. They haven't been together for a very long time but still have a great relationship, arguably better than before the split. He comes by the house almost every day and even brings my mother flowers on Valentines day and other special occasions.
Sometimes that distance is necessary, and that love is always there.
Rhea has always seemed so down to earth. Like if you met her on the street and didn’t know her she’d just have a normal, every day conversation with you

@DC_Kamehameha I hear you. One day I was at home. All the sudden I felt a strange sensation, and there was no denying it. I knew if I asked for a specific song to play (any song), it would. So I said "ok Alexa play 'Eat It' by Weird Al Yankovic". My radio roared into action, as I turned up the volume, and the song started playing right there on the spot, so perfectly. I started getting flooded on the inside by the warm jumblies, like a geyser of peppermint juice. Which stayed with me through the whole song, til I squeaked-out a gentle (not-too-stinky) butt-whisper. Had me giggling like a little kid.

May I suggest that you pray for the ends to pediatric cancer (well, actually every pediatric sickness), famine, innocent victims of wars, violence towards the most vulnerable (children, elderly, disabled, etc.)? I remember when they were talking about divorce YEARS ago and called it off. Based on the caption, I thought they eventually got it done and it just flew under the radar. Nice to know they are still friends even though they are separated because divorce could’ve been messy.
It's like she says, the tension isn't up in their faces anymore. They been married for 40 years. Everyone is constantly evolving as a person as they get older. They can still love each other unconditionally, but may not enjoy eachothers company as much as they used to when they were young. Some people can see that as a bad thing, but for others it may be the only alternative to fix their relationship. And as long as the relationship is solid, there aint nothing wrong with being apart.

If they’re now separating after all these years, chances are they were done a long time ago. Their children are grown and have their own lives so nothing is lost. True, it doesn’t make sense to divorce now. What would be the point in that?

This is like my grandparents. They are not technically divorced. My grandpa lives in one bedroom and my grandma is still in the house. They get along great that’s why we are confused on why they’re separated. But is their business.

It's always amazing to me how shocked people are that people who are separated can remain married. Most couples start living apart no? You don't move in together after the first date! A lot of people love each other and just don't want to live together, and a there's a lot of different kinds of love and a lot of different kinds of relationships that are unconventional. Separation, as opposed to divorce, is a good option for a lot of people. I feel divorce is when you absolutely hate each other's guts, the marriage has physical/mental abuse, are totally incompatible, and/or you really want out of the marriage desperately.
