    this is sooo awesome! thank you for making this video,my next door neighbors dogs have been making hole along my fence .one small dog got through the other day .ive been trying to work with my neighbor ,but no luck. do you think this will work with a shared fence? would the dogs be able to pull it through from the other side of the fence?

    • @lauracoteDIY
      @lauracoteDIY  3 роки тому +2

      Great this video helped. Sorry to hear about the dogs. I would say if you dig down 2ft it would deter them from digging more. It would be difficult for the dogs to pull the fence. You can even put heavy rocks over the L as I did to help. Good luck I hope it works! It fixed my issue!

    • @BIKEMAN21
      @BIKEMAN21 3 роки тому +3

      For dogs i would say staples would not be as good as washers and screws, predrill so you dont crack the fence. large rocks buried next to the mesh might help too.

    If you can avoid putting the soil on the wood posts themselves You will avoid The moisture from the soil rotting your fence posts. Assuming that you used Cement for your Fence posts. Just a tip most times I see repairs needed on fences that's the 1st part to go. This was a great video by the way very effective. Because I need to cover around 25 feet straight and the only long role of fence I could fine was chicken wire which I think are not as heavy duty as the ones you used. Thanks

      Not as strong but can double up/ overlap the chicken wire reducing the hole size. This may also prevent smaller animals from getting through. I plan to use chicken wire in another location since it’s all I have also! Thanks for watching!

    Hi, Great video.. I have an 8' tall chain link fence behind my house and it's 75' long. I have all kinds of animals digging under it so I'm gonna try this. I can see how to attach the mesh to the chain link so that's a good start. Question, did you use 2' of mesh or 3'? The beginning of the video says to dig 2' down and 1' across. but when you start digging you say to dig about 1' Just wondering what you ended up going with? Looks like what you did would work out for me. Was gonna buy a 100' X 2' roll but if you went 3' I'll go 100' X 3' Also, after 3 years, how's it holding up?? Thanks! 😬👍

    How do you add mesh if you have a vinyl fence? Can you still staple?

    • @lauracoteDIY

      Good question. My first thought is if the staple could easily be pulled out. Have you tested it yet? If the staple pops out, my next thought would be to add a wood runner/plank (perhaps able to secure at posts) along the bottom, where you could then attach the screen to.
