I like how it sounds so lonely and depressive and nihilistic yet at the same time it's got that spirit of fighting, of walking on even if it is so sad and cold...
holy shit.... I was just floored with a blast of nostalgia. I haven't played this game in four years, and my mind is suddenly flooded with "Goliath online!" and "Identify TARGET!"
man this music makes me think of all the time i spent playing starcraft. it was such a fun game, and has stood the test of time. hopefully the sequel will live up to the original
Honestly, it's great as a whole, mind you. The best thing about Blizzard Entertainment is that their classic soundtracks never got old or given up. They are still the best soundtracks in the industry.
Star Craft is one of the most pivotal, and one of the best games ever made. It meant alot to me, to go online and find my friends in a game of World Diplomacy, or fighting off the Zerg in some contest... *sigh* This brings back memories. I got into SC when I was about eight years old, and I can remember playing it in the school yard with my buddies at recess... I'd be the Confederacy, fighting off the evil Sons of Korhal! ^_^
yeah cause you are the only one "special" with "awesome and unique feelings" towards this game. Obviously no one wants to reinstall this after listening to terran 1. GJ MAN YOU'RE UNIQUE AND SPESHUL!
Same with me, I remember coming back from school and playing this for hours on end because it was just that fun. However, I think the first rts I played was Command and Conquer, then Starcraft.
@IHateWhatOthersLove you could extract the music directly from game files by using an application called MPQ viewer, last time I needed it it was available on almost every SC site in the files section, so I don't think it'll be too hard to find it.
Whenever 4:31 hits, I can just hear the high-pitched whine of the SCV welders, the deadpan "BWUM-BWUM not enough minerals" of the adjutant... Ahh, takes me back.
We've waited almost 10 years for the expansion of Starcraft. Starcraft REMAINS, and ALWAYS WILL BE, the greatest RTS ever created. Blizzard are the most fucking successful and awesome gamemaking company ever existed.
@paracaidista186 He is alive. In the Nintendo 64 Resurrection Campaign, Jim Raynor and Artanis find out that Stukov was infested and was serving as some sort of ''human'' cerebrate experiment for the Swarm. Raynor and Artanis used a nano-serum to deinfest Stukov, hence, keeping him alive. It was confirmed as canon by the Blizzard loremakers.
I absolutely love this theme, because it is UED'ish. I've always felt more connected to the UED, since it's the legal authority from Earth : the true Terran Empire. I wish they would come back in SC2, I just want to see them again! There are supposed to be pockets of UED survivors stranded in some outposts in the Koprulu sector, since the defeat of Dugalle's expeditionnary fleet. Plus, Stukov is alive canonically, so seeing him leading the remnants would be FANTASTIC!
@thedonoftrek I'm 100% sure it will be possible. My friend and I play the beta, and he just mutes the SC2 music and plays the Terran themes in the background, lol
i never said starcraft is not a bad game. like i said, it is one of the greatest games in the world, not to mention how much fun you could have if you're good. it's not the best game in terms of strategy, but it is a huge milestone on stratey gaming.
Starcraft was an awesome game. I haven't played much, since it wasn't installed on my PC for a long time, but I always loved the game...Although I think I was too slow, I kept getting killed. Oh well... XD
Call me odd, but this sound track makes me want to take a dump. It just brings back so much memories, back in the days when I was taking a dump I thought of SC stratagies and put them to use after I was done... it was very enjoyable..
You can compare and contrast the first and the second part of the music. the first 4 minutes(added in brood war) is very militaristic, anthem-like. The pacing, the build up and finally the the full-blown ending represents the military and the might of UED. The second part, already in the original, represents the laid-back, individualistic, yet brave nature of the colonists, who will rock your planet when they need to.
7:00 = The best part (in my opinion). Most people will disagree with a link to 4:30 which is also good, but it's a matter of preference. Oh, and I like the Brood Wars part.
Ah yes Starcraft. I sereously need to find this cd and reinstall it. This game is awsome. I was never good on the internet but singleplayer is good too.
@thedonoftrek I'm sure you can import them into the game, you know... Removing the old sound files and replace them with the old themes.. Just named as the 2 themes. Idk
PEOPLE, LISTEN. STARCRAFT IF NOT THE BEST "STRATEGY" GAME. IT WAS THE MOST REVOLUTIONARY STRATEGY GAME. it doesn't have much strategy as modern games, it just has lots of gaps for crazy mouse clickings to be involved.
@nickzcrowez I wish SC2 had basically the same soundtrack, except they just made it all modernized and cool, yeah. That would really mess with guys like us!
''Serve the Directorate, serve Humanity! All other priorities are secondary to Victory! Dugalle out.'' - Admiral Gerard Dugalle. UED Expeditionnary Force CIC.
Why was ghosts damage always so insignificant? It said they did 10 (+3), nearly twice that of a marine, but they never did anywhere close. I know they're not a heavy fighting unit anyway, but it always pissed me off that they only shot for 3 or 4 damage...
I like how it sounds so lonely and depressive and nihilistic yet at the same time it's got that spirit of fighting, of walking on even if it is so sad and cold...
This is great, beings back the unforgettable memories of the glorious battles I used to fight in starcraft. ahhhhhh gooood times
i got chills down my back for about all of the song, brings back the memories when playing this back in the days, the best !!!!
Same here. One of the first games I ever played. I was 10 years old, sweet memories...
And it remains the best game ever made!
I've heard this for countless hours and yet this theme makes me excited few other things will.
holy shit....
I was just floored with a blast of nostalgia. I haven't played this game in four years, and my mind is suddenly flooded with "Goliath online!" and "Identify TARGET!"
man this music makes me think of all the time i spent playing starcraft. it was such a fun game, and has stood the test of time. hopefully the sequel will live up to the original
im afraid not
I'm so honored I could play this game in my life.
This is actually the desert theme imo, very well put and fits the athmosphere and the terrans perfectly.
Honestly, it's great as a whole, mind you. The best thing about Blizzard Entertainment is that their classic soundtracks never got old or given up. They are still the best soundtracks in the industry.

I find some of the Wc2 songs purely epic. And the introductions to every mission in the Human Campaign is.... legendary.
this music plus the sound of SCVs gathering minerals and the 1st marines coming out... nostalgic
these soundtracks describe so much, space, duty, bravery, horror, they are epic
I have seen some of the videos of Sc2 and it looks like a pretty cool guy.
After my 10 yr 2000+ game tennure with this game I am still as glued to this soundtrack as much as I was on day1
@IHateWhatOthersLove you could extract the music directly from game files by using an application called MPQ viewer, last time I needed it it was available on almost every SC site in the files section, so I don't think it'll be too hard to find it.
4:20 so many games listening to that song.
Waiting to starcraft 2, it's been such a long time since i played starcraft...
Whenever 4:31 hits, I can just hear the high-pitched whine of the SCV welders, the deadpan "BWUM-BWUM not enough minerals" of the adjutant... Ahh, takes me back.

IDK, i've loved the SC2 Guitar!
And i also loved the marine's voices, those were awesome things from SC2!
I miss playing starcraft so much I might just play it tonight...
Epic soundtrack!!! so nostalgic.. reminds me old times.
Legendary game - great memories from when I was younger.
"You need more Vespene Gas"
"Not equipped with shields? Well then, buckle up!"
"I love the smell of naplam..."
Ah the memories
this music is so nostalgic, makes me feel like a kid again
4:30

"You want a piece of me boy?"
quartz667 ready to rOll Out

Over a decade old and still going strong!
@Hererizer
Depends on whether you are sending or receiving it.

I can sing along to this, from playing the game so much!
(ITS THAT AWSOME :D)
@thedonoftrek I'm 100% sure it will be possible. My friend and I play the beta, and he just mutes the SC2 music and plays the Terran themes in the background, lol
no game will ever be as good as starcraft was
it's not possible
In the 90's. How did they get such good sounds :O
You can hear General Midi used as some intstruments :D
Should I just dig up BW and install it again?
yes.
this captures a truly dark sci-fi world.
@SHendo36 Since that one time in 1996 when he was employed by Blizzard Entertainment to make their new RTS-game.
Raynor here.
Oh Yeah.
Sounds fun.
this should be good.
melody 2 takes of. just love it. and wonderful game
Need a light?
I always catch myself saying "Good to go"
and i think its from my subconcious memories of starcraft.
i never said starcraft is not a bad game. like i said, it is one of the greatest games in the world, not to mention how much fun you could have if you're good. it's not the best game in terms of strategy, but it is a huge milestone on stratey gaming.
God this brings back memories, but its not the same without the constant "ooouuugghhh!"s and the "additional supply depos required".
Starcraft was an awesome game. I haven't played much, since it wasn't installed on my PC for a long time, but I always loved the game...Although I think I was too slow, I kept getting killed. Oh well... XD
God i wish that blizzard could allow the SC1 soundtrack to be used in SC2. I would love that
dugalle and stukov will always be my favorite characters for the terran
This game is so great! What a perfect name for a game..Starcraft.. :D
Call me odd, but this sound track makes me want to take a dump. It just brings back so much memories, back in the days when I was taking a dump I thought of SC stratagies and put them to use after I was done... it was very enjoyable..
god damn m8 nostalgia... nostalgia everywhere! :O
@Kazgrums I know that irony is a hard concept to grasp for many, but DAMN that is dense...

I fucking LOVE this game and this race!
Brings back memories....

Sarah: Doesn't take a telepath to know what you're thinkin'.
Jim: Look, commander, do you mind?
Firebat: Wanna turn up the heat?
@ServACidOpLg Got questions about propane? ... Or propane accessories?
80's style bad ass
hope they use the same genre in SC2
God I hope they remix/remaster these songs cause these are easily the best in the game...
God, this gives memories.

@Flush444 it's very UED theme, official militaristic style, but still awesome!
@ProtossHydralisk Dustin Browder wrote it. Duran is still an ancient being, whatever he truly is.
@thedonoftrek I'm sure you can import them into the game, you know... Removing the old sound files and replace them with the old themes.. Just named as the 2 themes. Idk
@uritziel I hate how that happens lol, the new one it's like whats the point you can see the nuke coming
Woah... I don't play the game but they have a frikkin shweet soundtrack...
@Hererizer AHHHH MAN! nothing used to scare me as much as that! If you heard that with out detection you're screwed!!!

WHAT DO YOU WANT?
YEAH I'M GOIN!
~vulture
@nickzcrowez I wish SC2 had basically the same soundtrack, except they just made it all modernized and cool, yeah. That would really mess with guys like us!
Marines are definately the coolest units in any game I've ever played.
''Serve the Directorate, serve Humanity! All other priorities are secondary to Victory! Dugalle out.''
- Admiral Gerard Dugalle. UED Expeditionnary Force CIC.
*Take a peace of me, boy getta go sir, yes sir, rock n roll, yes master*
Love the game voices and the game itself ofc! :D
does anybody know where to get collector's edition - there is a very interesting article about SC music development
@sumerian88 no men i think stukov is really dead why do you say that he is canonically alive? he was kill in the terran mission 7 by samir duran...
Exactly my thoughts while playing StarCraft.
thanks for posting.
I didn't play SC 1 very much, beacuse I get interested to Starcraft, by SC2 WoL, but I try to play it for story and that music is awesome!
Impressive!!! But why isn't there any music in Starcraft Broodwar (the 2nd version) ?
Why was ghosts damage always so insignificant? It said they did 10 (+3), nearly twice that of a marine, but they never did anywhere close.
I know they're not a heavy fighting unit anyway, but it always pissed me off that they only shot for 3 or 4 damage...
"Right away Sir!"
"It's a zergling Lester, a smaller type of zerg"
3:50 - best game soundtrack in history
i never played SC, but this music is pretty awesome! WC2 and SC both have great music eh?
Simply... epic!!!!!
Best song from Starcraft
no, we're all with ya, dude :D
@surj69 I automaticly think those noises when hearing this, it's freaking me out.
does any1 know how i can import the terran soundtrack from sc1bw and replace the 1 in sc2, so it plays that song whenever i play terran.
Receiving Headquarters.....
Excellent....
@sumerian88 Wtf? Stukov is alive? Who the hell wrote that into Canon. I assume Duran isnt an ancient being anymore too?
Starcraft is a great game indeed!
