  • Chai, Maggie and Boiled Eggs.
For a long time only these 3 items have been on my 'Things I Can Cook' list. And that's because I used to think of cooking as a waste of my time. Because why cook when you can study, work, party, Netflix and Chill.
But after completing my Fitness Classes and Nutrition Certifications, I realised how stupid I was. I learnt that the reason why cooking is important is because a Home Cooked Meal, filled with fresh ingredients takes care of our digestive system. The digestive system takes care of our health. And health makes us active, we become productive. And that productivity leads to a great career, good friends and a lot of money! And that makes us the Super-Hero of our lives!
Therefore, to be a Super-Hero, we need to learn how to cook! Hence, proved! :)
But for 30 years, cooking for me has been a nightmare, a mystery I couldn't solve; because nobody taught me what is the Step 1.
So if you have also been struggling with cooking like I did, then in this video you will find the exact steps to get started; from setting up your Kitchen to making some quick breakfast and finally graduating to making those complicated recipes on UA-cam!
I really hope you fall in love with cooking, just like I did.

Cooking scares me because I tend to obssess over the details and there seems to be so much to remember. You made it simple. Thank you so much! Really value the content on this channel.

Same. I obsess over learning from the basics of everything. Starting from the basic ayurvedic theory of indian food and 6 ras. But honestly that's a very terrible way of learning something. Learning by cooking recipies is much better while picking up the theory part of things on the way.

@@mothernaturesson2640 hahaha. No, I have no connections to the mob, however, I went to high school in the same town that The Sopranos were filmed in while it was being filmed. One day, my town diner was closed because they filmed a scene there. Sometimes there’d be roadblocks at random places because the film crew were out. It was cool because the next year you’d be watching something filmed from the same area and remember the day they filmed it.

Hi.. was looking to learn cooking @not so young age of 50, stumbled on your video. Found it useful and interesting.. but need to point out that THE MOST COMPICATED AND UNFAMILIAR ACTIVITY FOR A BEGINER IN COOKING is learning to cut vegetables, which was not touched upon. Similarly the utensils required for cooking is also an important aspect while setting up /preparing to cook.

You are amazing! I watch so many Far Eastern and Western cooking videos but you are the first Indian who has the presentation style that I love! The microphone quality and the fact the music is only in the background and not drowning you out!
Do you have a vegetable preparation video? Like, how you prepare and clean bhindi, green onions/leaves, spinsch, and all those other veggies that often get soil or dirt in them? All the cooks chop them as though they've just pulled them straight out of the packet, e.g. spring onions, but I always separate the white from the green and have to slice the green part to wash out the soil! Please and thank you, this is what always puts me off using anything fresh and I just end up making paneer and potato curry!!! :) ♡

I'm from America and got married and living in Delhi now and trying to learn how to cook Indian dishes. I can cook 'American' foods my mom taught me, but the ingredients are not easily available and my husband is not a fan of my 'plain' cooking lol. Thanks for the video and I'm happy it is in English and so easy to understand. Good job! 👍

How are you doing now with indian cooking?

    • @vanissaberg5824

@@idkwhattonamemyself9326 I've learned quite a few dishes and they seem to like my cooking if that says anything lol. I make the rotis every day to go with the sabji curries. Parathas are pretty easy to make and I enjoy them stuffed with potato for breakfast. The different types of sabji are relatively easy to make as well. My husband sometimes helps me when I'm cooking chop the vegetables or flip rotis. The first dish I was taught was how to make Indian fried rice in a pressure pot. Very simple and delicious! 😋
