What i love about it is you dont get injured on a regular basis. You either get out fine or you die, no constant fractures and snapped tendons like in soccer or skating (i know doctors and nurses in the ER and i dont get why more injuries happen in soccer than skateboarding)
I had my back fused a couple years back, and white water kayaking is a dream of mine! I guess I'll stick with the category 3's for now, but you guys are living my dream!
3s are probably where I have the most fun right now, I'm comfortable on class 4 most days but honestly 3s are more fun (for me) because you can make em as challenging as you wish by adding more ferries, catch more mid-rapid eddys, all that good stuff with less risk of something serious happening
@@Joe-ty1oy research a set of rapids near you. If they're popular enough there will probably be an outfitters nearby that you can rent kayaks from. They also will have classes they offer. Do those. Don't go out there without some sort of training.
Those slides look like a great way to end up 2 inches shorter. You have the skills and the balls, but this kind of kayaking will kill you sooner or later. Even Dane J. would have walked most of that.
I mountain bike, rock climb, and paraglide, so I do get the appeal of extreme sports generally, but this is one that I just fully do not understand the appeal of. Whitewater stuff of this level has always just looked like narrowly avoiding drowning, apparently for fun. Amazing work though dude! You're at a level most people will never reach.
Same here dude. I don't fully understand it. I skydive, dirtbike, and surf in the PNW. I love to float rivers and hit rapids but this looks like death to me. To the guys that do this though, it looks like life to them.
@@SirJustonian I may not get it, but I will absolutely keep watching them do it! I love seeing people who are great in their field, it almost doesn't matter what the field is
I mean you can have your mountainbiking just as dangerous with big drops and high speeds. Or go free solo climbing. Just like whitewater kayaking can be done on a level that is more suited for "ordinary" people. Personally I feel more comfortable handling the risks of water (rolling/exiting the kayak, rescue techniques etc) than the risks of high speed crashes on solid ground (love going slowly on technical MTB trails though)
I thought for a second that that super narrow canyon in the 2:n clips was Murchison Falls in Uganda. Bot nope, that's just some very similar looking but a LOT smaller rapid. The real Murchison falls is like 50 times bigger and probably completely unrunnable / would be certain death.
My Family Doctor Died doing this stuff. He was 65 in good shape. He drowned while attempting to tackle a dangerous part of the Rapids known for powerful spinning water pushing anything that come near to the bottom
Sometimes i think i should quit smoking weed ,because it would probably make me do more outdoor stuff. Then i see these people doing outdoor stuff and i think "nah ,im fine"
Wow, I never thought the potential of getting a broken neck, broken back or worse could be so appealing.

Where or how do you learn to do them? I'm looking to get into this. Kayak type suggestion?

Where is the 2nd slide/ 3rd rapid shown? Looks like Southeast?
This is in Norway
@elliotgougeon4062 actually the third rapid, not the slide is in new zealand, on the Waimapu River
He is my damn foolish hero. I love his courage and mental stamina.
Fall damage turned off in powder and whitewater
I've recently got into kayaking and I'm ready for some faster water, but I don't think I'll ever go that far. Never say never though.
Don't feel sorry for these guys. The first thing the would do after a roll is fix their camera. They are fine.
What brand is the red boat in the second video?
EXO
Fuckin rollin the dice, huh?
…pretty sick…but your clock is ticking fast if your balls outweigh your brain by such magnitude.
Nightmare?? These kayakers are naturals, you don’t try these without knowing yourself.
Cauterets en France ?
I was just thinking how nice to go
Half way under the boat 😅saying hello to the fish 😂
Holy crap, it´s brutal. Respect to these guys.
El relativismo explicado en dos frases...
-"Ostias! Que te vas a matar!!"
-"Vaya, que susto, pensé que se me había soltado la cámara del casco!"
Looks exhilarating
Your a maniac, keep it up!
Truly impressive…what people can do at the elite level!
When people participate in such dangerous activities, it should be a given that no rescuers will be risking their lives to save them.
They're not alone, prepaired, very skillful, and they know the risks, the stream and what to do in case of emergencies.
OMG~ incredible~~crazy ~~~super ~~!!
wow amazing,it's a thrills experience
Dont do it again so scary
where is this?
Earth
Oh my gosh. I want to do this. ❤
It's not a nightmare for kayaker's that know their skill level. That's what it is all about.
самое страшное это остаться без весла...
This looks..Soo fun
Ea water sports its in the game❤
It’s only class VI until someone manages to run it…
