  • Net Cafes (Internet Cafes) in Japan
    Net cafe is short for Internet cafe and describes a place that offers all sorts of services centered around the internet and general connectivity. These kinds of cafes can be found mainly but not only in big cities. People visit net cafes for using a computer, charging their cell phone, or even when just wanting to take a rest. In recent years, manga cafes - places that offer a massive variety of comics and magazines to their guests - have also been referred to as net cafes. These manga cafes are known to offer a free drink along with their entry fee. Lately, more and more net cafes are equipped with private rooms as well.

    Cool video. How much were the rates when staying there?

    • @FeelFukuoka
      @FeelFukuoka  7 років тому

      At 1:21 minutes, you can see the rates for staying. First of all, you can choose between three different types of chairs (open, flat, double net). After that, you choose the length of your stay. For example, you can stay for one day, at a room with a flat, reclining chair for 3800 yen or if you like it more luxurious, you can stay at a double net chair equipped room for 6700 yen for one day.

    Great video! looking at staying in the Hiroshima one sometime in the summer for a quick visit.
    Quick question though. If there are 2 people in the Twin room, do you pay per person or is the price for just the room? We understand that you pay the admission per person but what about the main cost of the twin room itself?
    Thanks.

    • @FeelFukuoka
      @FeelFukuoka  7 років тому

      In Japan, you pay basically per person, not per room. About the room costs, I can`t say anything because they vary from day to day and from place to place.

    I do want to try this. I'm going in November and will spend a night in one of these manga cafes. My only question is in regards to staying the night. I get that it needs to be quiet around cubicles, but I'm a loud snorer. Not sure if this would be a problem.

    • @FeelFukuoka

    • @tombombadilofficial
      @tombombadilofficial 7 років тому +1

      I stayed for four nights on one of these. You'd be surprised with how loud other renters can be. They'd actidentally kick on walls. Laugh very loudly. Snore loudly. And many who rent these are inebriated office workers who are too drunk to go home. But most of the time, they're ok.

    Thinking of coming Saturday - do you need to book in advance to stay night?
    And does the flat seat actually go flat? It doesn't look flat in the photo but I can only sleep horizontal :(

    • @FeelFukuoka
      @FeelFukuoka  6 років тому

      Thank you for your comment. Actually, you can't book in advance. Especially on weekends, it can happen that no free seats are available. About the flat seat, it goes flat (horizontal).
      So sleeping should be no problem.

      Most of America only cares about online gaming now days. It's more convenient to just play at home for most people. I sometimes wish these were a thing here though, there's a lot of people in our country who don't have high spec computer, gaming set up or anything like that for that matter. These look really unique and like a good place to escape reality when you need too.

      He is saying "kia ora" at the beginning lol
      Kia ora is a Māori language greeting which has entered New Zealand English.
      It means, literally, have life be well/healthy and is translated as an informal "hi" or "hello"
