Great tutorial, but I would make removing the tag on flex mandatory and not optional. The tag on flex can potentially move and rub the battery enough to short out causing it to need to be replaced.

Its possible that the tag-on flex was in the wrong orientation, or had some unwanted tension on it. It needs as much room as it can have inside the phone like any tag-on flex. Try it again and see what happens

I followed the instructions to the tee and, although I'm not seeing the "Unable to verify" message, the new core battery still shows the old battery's health. I figured the tag-on flex was defective, so I ordered another one and installed it, again allowing the phone to boot from the lightning cable, giving it time for the tag-on to program, then rebooting the phone. But I'm still getting "Your battery's health is significantly degraded" along with the old battery's health percentage. Sounds like I need to get the battery programmer. Any ideas?
UPDATE: I was able to get this to work by installing a new AmpSentrix battery, turning the device on to prompt the "Not a genuine part" message. Then I turned it off, reinstalled the new Core battery, and voila! Battery health at 100%, no "Not a genuine part" message. Very happy!

@@Myriddlemind Okay, here's another update. I checked the battery stats this morning and noticed that shortly after 12 am the battery took a nosedive from 95% to 10%. This wasn't a gradual decrease, but a sudden drop. The screen was locked and no apps were open. I bought this device to refurb and sell in my shop and was hoping I could preserve the battery health functionality with the tag on flex. Now I'm afraid it's a little too unstable for that purpose.

    **Troubleshooting**
If the old battery health still appears and the battery notification persists, you will need to re-trigger the iOS stack battery notification window.
To do so, remove the new Ampsentrix battery (with its tag on flex) and install any new test battery with a functional BMS.
This will prompt iOS to recognize a battery with a new serial and allow you to restart and repeat steps in the video.

WHY??? I have been replacing batteries for 14 years and it is rare when a customer is really upset that it is not an original battery. 90% of the time, they don't really care. If they do, as an IRP, I just order an original and program it with Apple software. Even in Apple internal docs, if they open a phone and see a non-OEM battery, they require you discharge the phone and then proceed with any repair other the battery.
