I got a B4 lens for my BMCC 2.5K a few years ago but it didn't come with a doubler and the vinetting is pretty obvious. After watching your video I thought to look up if they sold them seperately but I found someone who's done pretty much the exact same thing as I want to do with a 1.4x teleconverter! It never occurred to me to try one of those, haha! Thanks for the inspiration/getting me to look deeper into it!
Just an FYI from someone who has tried it all and done the A/B testing, the built in doubler within lenses actually offers some optical correction. Whereas an external teleconverter does not. You will still have a heap of spherical aberrations with a external teleconverter. Optical correction is key to getting a useful image out of a converted 2/3" B4 lens, whether that is a 50% correction from the doubler or a 99% optical correction correction from a correcting adapter. If you need additional resources on adapting B4 lenses, it's kinda what I do ✌️😊
@@jamesandcamera I did actually see your videos when I was searching but as I was looking specifically for EF mount camera details I put them in my watch later list to watch later today!
@@renbymon yeah reflex mounts like EF and PL are tricky as there are very few optical corrective adapters available in reflex mounts that do a good job at correcting the spherical aberations.
