The bass playing is such a perfect compliment to the singing.
This has to the best minimalist unplugged version I've ever heard. Perfect balance between double bass and percussion, beautiful vocals and harmonies.

Richard had the voice of an angel who knew hard times. He was always one of my favorite musicians and it was painful for many people when he left us. My love to you and your family.
I attended one of his last concerts at the Front Row in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. Great memories.
I was there too; will never forget. The roar of the organ as if possessed. The miserable cold sleeting day and the warmth of everone there.
I was invited over to Richard Manuel’s house in Malibu 1983. I sat next to him on his stand up piano as he sang Ray Charles songs. I believe he had great regret in the breakup of The Band and the musical collaboration he had with them. He truly was musically gifted and a gentleman.

Rising Appalachian took me aback, I expected more "Dust in a Baggiè" type, but definitely impressed as maybe the name should be Appalachian soul, or Sole Appalachian, coming together as one. I am not here to critique at all, the sisterly duet are as beautiful as the sound, bravo bravo, if you ever need a blues harp player with soul, I could fluidly play to this, naturally. I am hooked. I do entertain a soulful voice some say I trying to sound black, I am from Louisiana, we don't try, its how we sound.
This squadron never ceases to amaze me. Perfect timing to discover this. 💙🙏💚
