I FINALLY got mine today, after weeks of waiting! I was kind of surprised that the price was $159.99 CAD I was expecting $199.99 I assuming Apple had to make the price lower for us Canadians because iPhone is only available on 3 year contract.
@GMMStrat2 when you touch the external antenna it's a physical process of disturbing the signal reception, it cannot be a software issue, the update is meant to mask the problem and show an average signal level and not a sudden loss of signal . I also might be wrong

@stockholmgr8 It's bad because you aren't using the bumper. Your hand bridges the antenna when you hold it because it's external instead of internal. But when you put the bumper on, it works flawlessly. Next time, think before you talk.

My iPhone 4 is still going strong nearly 2 years later. Will be upgrading this year. Nearly upgraded my iPad 2 to new iPad but think I will wait for new iPhone now.

@sadjockD no you don't HAVE to buy it...but I always buy cases for my iPhones and all apple products that need it, a couple of my friends use it without a case and it works fine. All depends on your preference.

@sadjockD nope , i bought it from UK and didnt had any problems , but in underground parking, basments could cause a droop bars , but u stull can make a phone call and it will not droop , its a normal issue nothing to worry about . for ure peace of mind , get any bumper case , it works fine . I just saw the presentation for iPhone 4 on Apple's channel, but they don't allow comments. This seems cool and all, but it seems like it's more of a mini-laptop than an actual phone, especially since people are saying the reception is bad and you don't get that many minutes. Also, can you utilize any application on the phone, such has PowerPoint and Excel, just like on a regular computer?
after seeing the new ipod touch 4g and seeing how small it is, i can probably say with some amount of confidence that we'll see an iphone redesign shortly. Which will both make it thinner and fix the antenna issue. And hopefully a 64gb version

@spanfilook I've compared the iPhone 4 to the Galaxy S side by side, and while the AMOLED display is gorgeous, with astonishingly brilliant colors, the Retina Display on the iPhone 4 crushes it as far as resolution and crispness of text and images.
This is the model that made a lot of people finally buy it who were skeptical. My dad bought this for me when I was 15 and it finally launched with Verizon and I've never gone back. And I no longer needed to carry a iPod and phone. One device for both needs.
