Interestingly, we have a Mini One, for the Wife, but it has dynamic oil pressure, an electronic controlled pressure valve, it was faulty, not bleeding off the pressure, and when it was fixed the fuel consumption improved 5mpg and you could feel the improvement in performance! Untimely, an oil pump takes a surprisingly high amount of house power the drive, so definitely done want it working overtime!
I've noticed the imp heads have a large gap between the wills rings in the middle of the head, is there a reason for that? I would be tempted to evenly space the block sleeves and increase their diameter and bore to get larger wills rings diameter which will allow larger valves for more air flow.

if you have 4 x 2mm holes that is not equivalent to an 8mm hole but only 4mm (area id proportional to the square of the diameter)

The directional holes in the block is similar to the jets used on an Austin 7. Normal hot oil pressure on a 7 is around 2-5psi hot👍👍
Orifice theory absolutely correct . If you ever get bored look at how an unloading hydraulic circuit works free horsepower with muti stage pumps.
