😰👍me too, my ex-fiance Earl Holliman was a Movie Star, I met him in Silvis IL when he traveled with Leon Everette's Country Band on a old Bus.
Earl knew me by my first name Debbie, but anyway.. Earl use to go see Doris all the time.
Earl was in that Western Movie The Sons of Katy Elder or was it called Katy Elders Sons? I cant remember, I sure do miss Earl alot😢. He will be the next one to pass away, you watch, hes really old now, but I still Love 💗my Earl, when my Baby girl Tiffany Jene was born he was going to put his name his last name on her Birth Certificate!!! So she woulda been born as Tiffany Sue Holliman, maybe even Tiffany Doris Holliman.
      I miss everyone so much..😰

      Debbie
P.s. Did you know Earl like I did? He recently came to see me, sad part is, he said to me on the phone he couldnt remember me😰.
Then he said "and say like I could remember you Debbie, I'm gettin too old, & im gonna die pretty soon. 😰, it broke my heart, I cried so hard. I will always miss my sweet heart of TCM Classical Movies. I will always miss him holding letting me rest my tired body on him while he stood tall & strong talking to my parents. But see my Mother ruined everything that night, she didnt want me to leave home, I was young, & she wasnt ready to let go, so somehow she got me & Earl in an argument, & he left me behind, ya my Mom ruined my opportunity to get Married to Earl that night.
Sad part is, he had proposed to me in front of a crowd of people that night at "The Silvis Festival".
I will always greeve 4ever over loosing Earl, I know hes old, but I still am very much in LOVE with my Earl. I will NEVER EVER get over loosing him.
Sad part is he SAYS he cant remember me, but sometimes I wonder. I dont care how old he is to be honest, I still am in Love with him.
Well thanks for the kind comment.

Doris, I can understand your comfort level on stage. I think once you face it you loose your fear. Nothing was so nerving for me was to sit in a studio by myself with just a cold microphone and not knowing if anyone could hear me. Listening to your conversation today brings back a lot of memories for me, too. Once I got use to my own voice and stretching my own personality to go over the air waves, I decided I like the control room where I could invent my own format and put together my own seg-way shows; you know where you could fade in and fade out different songs or singers. My audience let me know how much they loved the stories I could unfold musically. When I did sign off shows, I had to tell my traveling audience to turn to another station because I was doing my last 15 minutes putting my listening audience in the mood for sleep and I didn't want them falling asleep at the wheel. I was surprised to hear from my truckers that didn't want to miss it, soo they would pull their rig off the road and take their siesta time listening to my sign-off. I believe in all of my professional life, this had to be the best time for me. I learned a lot. What I like doing was coaching others (like my baby brother who was a singer song writer) in getting over their stage fright by doing it - even telling a funny incident or story. All people go through the same scenario when learning to "stand up to be seen, speak up to be heard, and then Shut Up to be remembered."
My Mom was a contralto singer and I hope you two meet and try doing a harmony bit. She just couldn't get it from me, but I bet the two of you would sound great. Mom said I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket but on radio I could make believe. R I P but I know you will be entertaining again, even if in Spirit. You left a great work to remember you by. I will think of the both of you, often. Til we meet again!

@@annagancarz7430 Thanks. Yes, I know. My point being it wasn't "just before Robert's death" as Emily stated. The interview was in 2014. He died in 2017.

Doris Day was a very talented, beautiful, classy, gracious woman! There is only. One Doris Day! She could be so funny and equally dramatic in her movies! Her movies are some of my favorites that I watch every time they are o TCM.❤️❤️

I know Doris did not want a funeral but I wonder where she requested to be laid to rest probably somewhere around where her home and dog sanctuary was in Carmel.she seemed such a lovely vibrant lady who just exuded such warmth.I would so loved to have met her and tell her how much I loved her films and her singing.hopefully if there is a place such as heaven I may one day get the chance.rip doris you were a gracious lady who had talent by the bucketload and who brought such energy and enjoyment to everyone.god bless you.x

Yes, her work for Animals is so remarkable. She was a natural talent. I wonder if she ever had any Set backs in Life, as most mortal beings? Was she Just so exceptionally lucky in Life? Her attitude was so Positive and it was Just Positive vibes where ever she went.

Yes. Her son died at age 62 of cancer. Her 3rd husband embezzled her fortune and then he died so she had to sue his partner. She left Hollywood after that. Had 4 bad marriages. She wrote a book about it.

A GORGEOUS WOMAN WHO THOUGH WORLD REKNOWN, TRUE LOVE ALWAYS EVADED HER. UNSATISFIED BY 4 HUSBANDS, SOUGHT SOLACE IN ANIMAL CARE, NEVER SEEKING TO KNOW HER HEAVENLY FATHER WHO LONGED TO GIVE HER THE LOVE SHE LONGED FOR FOR MANY DECADES. NOW SHE IS IN ETERNITY. WHERE? GREAT TALENT IS GONE NOW.
