Man it’s so crazy seeing EC3 grow from TNA to where he is now. He somehow stays in character yet is genuine at the same time which is difficult for a lot to do in the industry and I can appreciate the dedication to the immersion of pro wrestling
Chris you're the only real interviewer left in pro wrestling (in my opinion), rooted in academia and journalism, without hyperbole. Thank you for you what do, asking tough questions and being a respectful guy. Don't stop!
EC3 is one of those guys with a real interesting career with highs and lows. He always seems to climb out of the lows though. Very hardworking guy with lots of great moments and matches scattered through out his career. I'll certainly never forget that amazing hair vs hair match he had with Rockstar Spud and that awesome promo he cut after.
I met EC3 when he was in WWE and he’s a cool guy. You’re a great guy too, Chris Van Vilet! It’s hilarious because when I hear EC3 speak, I hear a little bit of MJF too. They both sound alike😄😊🤍💙👊🏾
The coolest thing was at the time I was working for Burger King and one time on my shift EC3 came in and asked for some salt and a fork I was so shook fr being a fan I was like holy shiii it’s you bro and he was so nice and humble, I wish nothing but the best for him he’s a solid dude 🔥
Love the EC3 interviews! I just graduated from his hs last year I wish more people knew about him but ig there’s not a lot of wrestling fans from Willoughby except his nephew who graduated with me
Big brother EC3 has been so good to me since I joined the NWA He’s a lockeroom leader And A wealth of knowledge is gained from just being in his presence He is a true champion
This is gonna be a TLDR, but it’s my feel good story of meeting EC3. The year was 2000 and 14… and it was Christmas. My company (located in Tampa) was having a banger of a Christmas party at a fancy hotel. I brought my wife, lots of others brought their significant others. And real early on I clocked EC3, because I was a fan of TNA/Impact at the time. He had an arm brace on and was recovering from a torn tricep. Dude was sitting at the table by himself while his girlfriend was socializing with coworkers, and he was just kinda sulking over his drink. Looked like he wanted to he anywhere but this party. I paced back and forth for several minutes psyching myself up, and I finally decided to just walk up and mark out to the guy haha. So I walked up and said “Hey man… I have no idea wtf you’re doing at my company Christmas party, but I’m a big fan, and I’m glad you’re here. Dude lit up like a Christmas tree, shook my hand, and told to pull up a chair. I sat there with him for probably an hour just shooting the shit about wrestling (we’re nearly the same age). And then my wife and some other coworkers dragged me away to the dance floor. Next thing I know he’s out there with me and we’re sandwiching chicks like Night At The Roxbury style haha. I still have a picture with him from that night. Moral of the story is EC3/Mike Hutter is the nicest fucking guy in the world, and I’ve always hung my hat on the fact that he was so down in the dumps and not happy about his injury and hanging with people he didn’t know at a big party. And because I approached him and told him I was a fan, he completely transformed into the guy we see on screen and had an absolute blast for the rest of the night. Love that dude and wish him nothing but the best!
Personally, I would love to see him back in TNA with his "Control Your Narrative" gimmick. It would be fantastic at Slammiversary to witness an EC3 vs. Nic Nemeth match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, with EC3 playing the role of a heel, of course. 😀
I've been watching OVW for a couple of months. It's not over produced like WWE or AEW. OVW's shows tend to have a lot of technical difficulties and a lot of their talent is currently in training but I really enjoy it. EC3 has been playing the end boss for the top guys at OVW. IMO he's good at that role. If anybody's interested, OVW TV on UA-cam has a live stream every week.
Every time I go in and decide to watch him do his thing live in Louisville its always a good time. Even when he's not in the ring. Last year has been a big turn around for them in some recent time
This was such an interesting interiew Chris. I can listen to you both talk all day. I love the variiety of wrestlers that you interview. You are indeed the. modern day "Gordon Solie." It is the perfect way to start my day off watching this interview.
@@Bot-rp7rj i am still watching it. i maed a comment about it whhile i am still watching it. Have a nice day. Yes it is a great itnerview. Chris puts out excellent content and its perfectly fine to comment on a video while watching it.
This was why WWE got a bad wrap and Vince was to blame he ruined alot of wrestlers that were big or had a lot of potential and totally changed their gimmick when it didn't work out he would let them go. Look at LA Knight Vince made him Max Dupri a male model and was about to let go of him smh like why
Always been a fan of EC3, he is from my hometown of Cleveland oh, and i no longer live there but itll always be home , he has to come back to the WWE soon..

Wrestling is 100% hotter within the mainstream than it's been since at least pre to early PG era. Not to mention WWE has never made as much money as they are now, including the Attitude and Hogan era.
For sure, national interest is higher than it’s been in a long time, definitely not at its peak, but with how much they’ve expanded globally, overall engagement has never been higher.
I meann. If you ask the average person who doesn’t watch wrestling what wrestlers they know of. Chances are they won’t mention any one of this new era they usually recognize guys like Cena, Hogan, The Rock, etc. idk to me that says something about how “hot” wrestling is generally
I am not sure about that in full. I feel what was predicted around the year ALL IN PPV and the Elite was part of a growing movement, NXT was excellent, NJPW was great option, indies was at its best...and what we have today is not what a lot of people expected. there is not much new and exciting concepts that have happened over the last year....the only thing is that this is the most talented wrestlers we have had in any era and teg quality of matches across the board has been consistently good, but, this last year was very underwhelming, not sure how it is seen as "hottest it has been"...but each to their own.
EC3 is on both shows i currently enjoy, as champion. NWA and OVW are fun promotions. OVW actually has live programming and does it well. Btw, that National Title is dope af.
Its weird that this interview is on my watch later list following the Patrick Clark interview. I dont know who to believe. Patrick Clark did sound mostly very convincing, though.
The cyn ec3 made me a fan of him, while I did see him in tna wasn't really feeling, him, ppl like him can be huge stars if they bring them in as they are! 👏
Unfortunately I only remember a handful of things about EC3's WWE run on the main roster. He was "EC3" without ever being called "Ethan Carter the Third" ("relative of Dixie Carter") 😅, wasn't allowed to talk, always had a red cup of soda in his hand, was Drake Maverick's best buddy, and never looked happy.
EC3.... Why the Linus security blanket you hug like it's your protective shield? Tyrus (the former Linus) finally left his security blanket (Brass belt) at home, and he's earned so much respect for standing on his own legs. Dude, grow up!!
Thank you to EC3, I know it's a game of opinions but I am never sure how Chris thinks this is "the greatest" time for wrestling. It's been an underwhelming year with of the ring gossip and news being the biggest thing that has happened. EC3 is right to question that.
NFL has been manipulated for decades. The sudden appearance & dominance of (ads for) sports betting, showed everyone how large and powerful that lobby is.
