My grandmother used to try to catch the last ferry before the service was suspended - and that was in the days of the South Steyne and North Steyne ferries which lacked all the modern aids used to minimise the effect of the heavy seas.
Nice video. I can say so much about this video. I'm gonna point out a few things. 1. Water through the deck is from the anchors, which are on the bow (front) of the ship just close enough to the water to get the full brunt of any wave. It's happened even on smaller days. 2. The people jumping behind you. I'm glad they were on a big ferry. If they'd done that on a smaller vessel, they would've gone over. 3: Judging by this, there were only 2 big ferries but do tell me if I'm wrong. The two are Collaroy and Freshwater. 4: A question, when was this filmed? I've got more info but I'll tell it if I can get a footage date.
@@reishappysydneylife8312 Ah so that explains why only 2 vessels were running. Should be all 4. There's a rally happening soon and anyone is invited to save all 4.
Bus 🚎 947 to Kogarah Train 🚊 to Circular Quay, Fast 💨 Ferry ⛴ to Manly in and Manly Slow Ferry ⛴ Out back to Circular Quay and circular quay is a wharf not a jetty saw one ☝️ at the miller’s point area at a restaurant on the city 🌃 side
Thats quite mild. I used to catch the ferry every morning in 1988. I've seen a 2foot wall of water wash through the bottom deck every wave the ferry cut into. Thered be needles, condoms, plastic bags and all sorts of garbage in it. Id generally be the only one downstairs.
Well done, excellent. Ideal for those wanting to know what to expect if taking this iconic trip to Manly and then the short walk to Manly Beach.
Thank you for watching 😊

Thank you for the reply. The video was taken on 4th of March 2022. There’s only 2 large ferry and the other 3 are catamarans .

It doesn't rain every day.
The weather is mostly spectacular.
Sydney having a rainy day is not that bad as shown in this video.
An average crossing with a bunch of jerks
They're just kids.
The manly trip is always bumpy😂
Yes, that’s true. 😁
It's definitely not always rough. Quite the contrary really

Just like turbulence
That was fun 🤩
How much do you pay for a round trip on this ferry?
Just under $20
Cyclone in the 1970s / 74 ? I saw surfers jumping off the ferry to go surf north head, it was about 15 foot swell ,now thats surfing
Good job on surviving that without your tummy going crazy
Thank you 😊
I Haven't Done the Manly Ferry Trip in ....... 25 Years.

That's nonsense about the "alleged" rubbish.
@@rodrocketis How would you know you tosser. I was the only one there dickhead.
@rodrocketis How would you know you tosser? I was the only person on the bottom deck each time.
@@rodrocketis How would you know dumb dumb? I was always the only person brave enough to be on the bottom deck.
