Thank you, thank you Dale & Paula for taking me for a tour of beautiful Scotland on a Sunday morning here, in Toronto, Canada. This was an amazing tour and I enjoyed it very much. I could go on and on for hours. Bless you guys!
We see that you watched and commented on the whole series - to which we say, Thank YOU for taking an hour out of your life to go on this heritage tour with us! Clearly you can tell how meaningful that trip last year was, and we are so thrilled when others enjoy sharing it with us. :)
@@paulamckenzie Of course. Paula, you know? Because we can not travel this year, your stories make me feel as if I am on holiday and that help to get over these difficult and in many ways boring time. I would rather watch your stories than the dirty politics that does not do any good for anyone. Keep on telling those stories and send more videos even from local trips. I loved them too. Thank you for taking your time to provide us with beautiful stories.
WOW!! ... this was really interesting!! Just viewed all 3 videos of MacKenzie Lands! Beautiful scenery and I just loved the Castle, Forts, Churches, the residential areas, cobblestone streets, etc ... all of it was AMAZING!!! Thank you for sharing this with all of us, it is greatly appreciated!! 💕🌏
Oh thank you so much, Rita, for taking the time to watch these - if there is anything on our channel that is a true passion project, this is it. We had a return trip scheduled for last year, because we loved it so much - now not sure when if ever we will get back to Scotland.
My father’s father was Scottish. He was a Murray! I started watching Outlander during the lock down and it got me hooked on Scotland. My mom was English and was from Bristol. She and my father met while he was stationed in England with the US Army during WWII. They married in England on September 1, 1945. My mom waited months for her turn to sail to America. My father is from California, so my mom had to get from NY all the way across America to San Francisco. The drive from his home in central California to SF to meet my mom took several hours. It was a long time since they had seen one another. They were married until 1979 when my father died. My mom died in 1980. I have wanted to go England and Scotland for many years. I love your 3 films about Scotland! They have been an inspiration for me to travel to the homeland of my family. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos! 💕
Oh Lorraine, this is such a beautiful story! Dale's parents were married during WWII also - he was Canadian Royal Navy, she was American - and we are always awed at these love stories, and what the couples endured to be together. We are so glad you shared this with us - and yes! If we inspired you to go "home" to England and Scotland, please go. It will be a life-changing experience!
I finally had the time to sit down and watch all three episodes at once. What a wonderful retrospective of your trip. It made me want to go back to Scotland again. I was a little weepy at the end, because my mum always wanted to visit, see where her mother was born, but it isn't going to happen. I really hope, if I get to go again, I can visit where my family is from. My other trips, I had no idea. I actually found a photo of my great great grandmother's grave on ancestry, so now I know where to go. Really excellent series of vlogs. Thank you!
You could not have said anything that was more valuable to us - thank you so much. We truly loved making this series, and we appreciate you taking an hour out of your life to watch it. WE love watching it again! As for tracing your roots - just do it, as soon as the barriers between us get moved out of the way. It's an incredibly enriching experience.
Its great when Americans Canadians, Aussies etc visit there ancestral homes in these islands, whether its Scotland ,England, Wales or Ireland. Really enjoyed your vlogs.
We agree, it IS great, and so meaningful. People left for lots of valid reasons, in centuries past, but always there’s that pull towards home, the lands of your forebears. ❤️

Going to Scotland has always dream of mine, which sadly may never happen. So thanks you sooo much for sharing!
It's taken me a couple of days to watch all of these but I just wanted to thank you again for sharing your journey. I've trace my blood line as far back as Sir Lord Murdoch Knight of Kintail, 5th Lord of Kintail McKenzie, 1370-1416. He was my 19th great grandfather. It's been nice getting to see where he, and our family that followed, may have seen with their own eyes. I am a fan of Outlander but I did not know of my family connection until after I started watching the show.
Well thank you VERY much for taking the time to watch all of these! We are really jazzed when people get intrigued and watch the whole series...and even more so when you share your own personal connections and lineage as a descendant of this very proud and noble clan. Gives me shivers - how far back your history can be traced!
And I always tell people who watch all three: Thank YOU for taking an hour out of your life to watch this series. And yes, Amazing Grace...totally appropriate for a vlog about Scotland. :)

Those were awesome videos I am also a MacKenzie, my grandfather came to the US in the 20s. I'm 45 & have always wanted to see The Highlands. That was very nice tour. Oddly enough as a side note my direct ancestor about 8 or 9 generations back was Janet Horne "the Last witch" to be barreled, tared, feathered & burned at the stake in January of 1727 in Dornoch, Sutherland Scotland. Anyway, sorry for being so long winded, I just love my Scottish heritage. So I really ENJOYED these three videos.🇺🇸🏴

hi dale and paula, im really happy you enjoyed seeing your ancestors homeland, my beautiful country scotland, i loved watching all 3 parts, i have a question for paula, does she have have any scottish heritage? also thanks to steven for his commentary, i am finding out things i didnt know too.
Hello David - thank you SO much for watching this series! We are so flattered that a native of Scotland would watch and enjoy it. Yes, Steve McLeish is the best, and he truly enriched our whole experience. No, I don't have Scottish heritage - my Dad was Italian, my Mom was German ancestry. But, I think the minute I married into the McKenzie family, I was captivated by Scottish ancestry and tradition, and have made it kind of a passion of mine. :)
What a wonderful video. I throughly enjoyed your trip. Hopefully, some day I will be able to take my son there. Thank you so much for sharing your family history.
This was FANTASTIC!! Thank you so much for sharing! My line of MacKenzie's came from Col (isle of Lewis) to Quebec and homesteaded in MT. Nice to "meet" you!!
And thank YOU so much for watching this - truly our passion project. We love hearing how the Scots traveled to distant lands in search of a better life! 💙🏴
Just found your video series. Loved every second of it. My Scottish ancestors are from Inverneshire area and held lands overlooking Lochend, Dores area. There is a McBean Memorial Park overlooking Lochness. Modest and wonderful. I have been to many of the areas in your videos and now have some new places to explore. And.....you're right Dale. As wonderful and magical as the Scottish Landscape is the Scots themselves are the real treasure. Thank You for these videos. Richard
Great mini series. I relived one of my many journeys to Scotland. In addition to Steven, we hired Donald Mackenzie as a guide. One trip just wasn’t enough. I have made a total of 6 visits. Have been to the beautiful places you have on the video. My Hebrides trip planned for 2020 cancelled. Thanks for a lovely video
Six visits? OMG I totally understand why! I went with some lady friends in 2017, for two weeks, and I was enchanted. I took Dale in 2019, and HE was enchanted. We were supposed to go back last year, and we are so disappointed we cannot travel...but going as soon as we can. And yep, every time is with Steve McLeish :)
@@paulamckenzie I too had a trip planned but COVID happened. Last years trip was to visit the outer Hebrides. I’m from Wisconsin. I took my 2 daughters and a 17 year old grandson. I love castles and whiskey so every day we included a distillery and a castle. I think we were with Steven first 2 years. I just told Donald Mackenzie what I wanted to do and he made all of the plans including where we stayed. I love history so my trips were very rich in history. Orkney is worth visiting as well as the spiritual clootie wells. We loved going with Steven but he had limitations for his licensing
@@whiskeycook3323 This is really good information for our future trips - thank you for sharing. We actually have friends who live in Shetland, and they are wanting us to come visit. We'd love to do Orkney and Shetland.

Hi Mary - thank you SO much for taking that much time to watch our Scotland videos! I think you could tell that this was subject matter that we loved. Now full disclosure: I have been to Scotland twice - in May 2017, and May 2019 - for about two weeks each time, and I don't think it rained more than 2 days total. I could see it was a very emotional trip for you both and glad you liked being in Scotland.Till the next time slainte🍻

Watched your vlog on red rock and will definitely give that a visit... Kp the vlogs comin youz r doin a gr8 job.... Ps, hope youz weren't eaten by the midges.....
Thank you for this amazing tour. My wife and I would like to do a similar tour someday soon. As a Mackenzie myself, this was extremely enlightening and of course interesting to me. If you’d be willing to share how you went about setting this up and contracting the guide, I’d love to correspond. Thanks!
Hi Dale. I’ve been commenting on some of your wonderful informative videos so I hope you remember me from them. I hope you see this because I think this may interest you. I’m a big abandoned places buff with plenty of exploration videos on UA-cam. Well I remember seeing the video you did mentioning Mackenzie lands. I’m also an ancestry and history buff as well. I just saw one about the Mackenzies in Scotland and an abandoned castle with much history dating from the 11 century. The channel is ‘Desertify Urbex’ and the name is ‘Abandoned Mansion’s Family Curse and Human Sacrifice’. This man does in depth history so I thought since you went to Scotland and researched your history you might want to hear this. Those Scots could be pretty brutal. I’m sure you were probably related to some of this clan no doubt. Such a coincidence but thought you might enjoy seeing if these were ancestors. I hope you’ll let me know. This man does excellent narration but too much history for some. Take care
Hey Catherine, it's Paula - I check and keep up with all the comments, and send over to Dale those that need his attention. I will make sure he sees this, and we will look this up on UA-cam. Sounds intriguing!! Thanks for the tip. :)
Tara Lecomber Totally agree! I first went out touring with him in 2017, and then again last year. I have great respect for his incredible knowledge of Scotland’s history. And, I could listen to him talk all day. 😊
Dale and Your Lovely Wife Paula, I have really enjoyed traveling around with both of you on your outings. Since you are based out of Vegas, have you ever checked out the Palm and/or the Rio? Or the Tropicana since their $100 million makeover? PS. I have been traveling to Vegas since 1962, and every time I go I have checked with the hotel security staff concerning the video taping of casino activities. They have collectively told me that so long as the photographer is just passing through the area and not deliberately filming specific individual gamblers and/or the casino security equipment, that causally filming is acceptable. Looking forward to many more videos. Mike
Mike Grossi Hi 👋 Mike, Thank you for your lovely comment! 😊 We love having you along on our adventures. FYI, we did an extensive walkthrough of the Palms just a couple months ago - look for that on our channel. The Rio is on our short list, hope to get to that one soon. As for filming in the casinos - we are finding it challenging overall, but doing our best to follow the rules and get good footage too!
Dale, I need you to do the voiceover for the video from my (eventual) trip to my ancestral homeland? Do you speak Polish? BTW, did you bring back a single malt from your trip?
LOL I don’t speak Polish, but it would be interesting to try! And yes, of course, we bought an exclusive bottle of Loch Fyne single malt, wrapped it up, and brought it 5000 miles back home. Slainte! 🏴🥃
Good morning, about 2 weeks ago I started a very grueling schedule of dental procedures. Bottom line is they kicked my butt pretty bad and I was unable to vlog. However, we did go out this weekend and started filming a vlog for next Sunday. So, we should be back to the regular routine by then. Thanks again for caring enough to check in, that’s very kind of you. 😊
Hello Colin, and many thanks for watching this video...we were there in Scotland 🏴 two years ago exactly, and are yearning to return. I’m honored that you were touched by this - and would like to think somewhere up the family tree we are related... 😊
Sylvia Hi there 👋 and thank you for watching. The Trump hotel isn’t really a casino resort like the others we do on the Strip - it’s just a nice hotel. Unless we booked a room and did a room tour, there really isn’t anything to make a whole video about. Thank you for the suggestion though. 😊

Watched your vlog on red rock and will definitely give that a visit... Kp the vlogs comin youz r doin a gr8 job.... Ps, hope youz weren't eaten by the midges.....
Culross Palace was also the location of several Outlander filming scenes.
Oh yes, absolutely, it sure was :)
Someone I know is on the verge of 5k subscribers! Yay!
Gene Pritchard Yay indeed! How did that happen? 😲🎉
I found out from a DNA test that my heritage is mostly Sottish and just a little bit English. I would like to visit one day.
MrRamyon74 It will be well worth the trip - seems everyone who visits Scotland ends up returning multiple times! 😊
Steve McClish is brilliant
Tara Lecomber Totally agree! I first went out touring with him in 2017, and then again last year. I have great respect for his incredible knowledge of Scotland’s history. And, I could listen to him talk all day. 😊
Dale and Your Lovely Wife Paula,
I have really enjoyed traveling around with both of you on your outings.
Slainte! 🏴🥃
Happy Monday! Are you guys alright, wh haven't heard from you in awhile?
Good morning, about 2 weeks ago I started a very grueling schedule of dental procedures. Bottom line is they kicked my butt pretty bad and I was unable to vlog. However, we did go out this weekend and started filming a vlog for next Sunday. So, we should be back to the regular routine by then. Thanks again for caring enough to check in, that’s very kind of you. 😊
@@DaleMcKenzie Anytime. Hope you get to feeling well!
My paternal grandmother's maiden name was mckenzie
Thank you for watching 😊🏴
Diolch yn fawr ❤
And the Gaelic gave us chills… Tulach Ard! 🏴
Allow me to dry my eyes....my name Colin Edward Fraser MacKenzie.
Hello Colin, and many thanks for watching this video...we were there in Scotland 🏴 two years ago exactly, and are yearning to return. I’m honored that you were touched by this - and would like to think somewhere up the family tree we are related... 😊
Will you please do a tour of The Trump hotel in Las Vegas? Thank you 😊. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
