Looks good! You should paint the inside of the fireplace black too and put those fake wood logs as decoration or different height pillar candles, which might be better because if you get the LED ones you can turn them on and make the room all cozy looking.
You go girl, looks amazing! I would fill the inside of the fireplace with pieces of wood to keep beloved toddlers and Bucky from crawling inside, and it would look like art. You're happy, Bucky is happy, and the room looks great. Love your videos!
I just saw some Pinterest posts where they built bookshelves in the non-working fireplaces and, of course, put other decorative pieces in there. It looked great! Clever use of space.
The contrast with the original brick on the inside really makes the fireplace really lovely. It's amazing what a can of paint can do. The inside is perfect for candles, pumpkins and other fun seasonal decor
The fireplace would look so nice as a small indoor garden some green plants a couple lanterns , just an idea that would dress it up for the time being it looks really nice now with the paint !!!
This turned out great Allison. My parents have a similar set up at their house. They painted the inside black and put some candles in there. It looks really nice. I put some birch logs in mine that I bought off Amazon.
Wow Allison!! I admire and appreciate all your hard work and these beautiful transformations. Extremely inspiring and I too believe that a little paint goes a long way in transforming spaces! Can’t wait to see more ❤
I was shocked by the transformation! Dang! It looks so nice! I'd probably put a bunch of candles in the fireplace, all different sizes. I don't know how practical that would be with Bucky and Madeline tho, lol. Can't wait for the next video!!
The white colour brings light into the space and blends well with the floorboards. Love the black shelf, it blends well. As well as plants in the fireplace; maybe it could be a cupboard for decor ❤
Allison, the fireplace came out beautifully! The white really transformed it, it looks like a completely different fireplace! Everything is coming together, looking forward to the next makeover 😊
Allison, the house is looking so good! I’ve painted my share of brick and paneling. Tedious, but the pay off is high. I caught the comment about keeping the fireplace if it wasn’t so big and I’m thinking nooooo! Toddlers and hearths (harths) don’t go together. My daughter took a spill when she was 2 on our hearth, and she needed stitches. I decided never having a fireplace again until kids are grown!😄
Again you are doing an amazing job. Just love everything you and your family accomplished. Don’t forget to rest between your jobs . Have a great day can’t wait for your next video.
Love it! It's easy to grab some aspen or birch logs and a cute little metal stand for them to put inside the void in the fireplace, it would add another textural element too :)
The black mantle looks just fine, but you could have used gel stain after you stripped the paint off and found it wasn’t a good wood left behind. The beauty of it is that it doesn’t need to soak in, it just sits on top of whatever you apply it on. If you want the look of wood at a later date, you can paint over the black with a cream colored paint and then go over it with your choice of gel stain color. It will look like wood when it is finished. You can even do this on a metal door or something like that. Something to file away for future reference. ☺️ Excellent work! 🙌🏻
The fireplace looks great. You have really transformed the house. Have you seen the outlet covers ($4) that just go over the outlet so you don’t have to replace them all- much easier.
We have the replacement outlets already! We bought them in bulk since we’re updating them throughout the entire house & we’re upgrading them to be a safer tamper proof outlet type so Maddie can’t mess with them!
I do not know what studio mcgee is, but I love your fireplace and the neutrals with it. Whew you make me tired watching you. Your little girl is adorable. Amazing what paint can do. Your right it can make a huge impact. Peace!
This turned out so good! Love it! Makes me want to paint our living room. We have an older home and we have been updating some expensive parts so we have halted doing anything else, but just painting like you said really makes a difference. Thanks for sharing! 😊❤️👏🏽
I love it!!!! Everything is turning out so beautifully!! Personally, I would keep the fireplace, we do not have one in our house and I really wish we did just for the simple reason to hang Christmas stockings! You are really inspiring me to paint my wood paneling in my home now!
I hadn’t even thought about getting to hang Christmas stockings here! This comment has made my day since it reminded me of that! 😊 We have plans to build a new fireplace that has a much smaller footprint elsewhere in the living room so don’t worry! There will always be a home for the stockings
Gosh I love your content. We're mid reno (been going slowly over 6 years) and heaps of things have been left because we're planning a big extension but it's still a couple of years away. I think I'm going to buzz around and do some mini updates with a little bit of paint so we can enjoy our spaces now. Love your work
This is exactly what I was trying to share in this video! It may be temporary, but everyone deserves to love the home they’re in every stage of the Reno process!😊
THAT LOOKS AMAZING!!!! 👏 🎉❤ You did such a great job! Color choices are spot on. I was having the same thought of it's too bad that the fireplace takes up so much space because it looks so good. Keep up the great work! 👍
I was watching this (great stuff by the way) and had an idea, why not paint the bricks of the fireplace you did on this one in the darker shade from the dining space, and the flat tiles on the bottom black like the shelf to make it a feature? I think that could look really good. That said the transformation already looks great. Congrats on the new house and God bless 😊
You Never cease to amaze me!!! Looks great. I am a little worried about the marble especially the corners with the baby. I believe you may be able to get corner protectors just in case. Babies seem to find the corners of everything with their heads. I have been there many moons ago. Keep on going you guys do great work!!!
I’m planning on leaving it empty! It’d be an easy place for my toddler to reach so anything in there would be fair game for her & I like that it looks like it could be a real functional fireplace
Looks nice! Just wondering if you've seen people do "faux wood" furniture makeovers with paint and dark glaze. You could do the same thing for the mantle, if you care enough at this point lol.
I think it could be nice in black. Or maybe add a flower or something inside to fill the space. (Personality I preferred original brick but it's not my home and this looks nice too. Love the makeover videos)
I love the brick. It gives a nice texture and focal point to the design. Without it, like many have suggested painting it solid whote or black or other, it would look boring and cold. She would have to add texture and focal points elsewhere. I notice people associate clean with cold and drab and emptiness. Also keeping the brick an actual brick color makes it look like a fire place. Painting it black would make it look like a weird built in.
I think it looks much better but I wonder what the brick would’ve looked like with Lyme wash or something not as thick as paint. Like a brushed on look instead of overall coating. I guess it doesn’t matter since you won’t be keeping it forever
I know you don’t want to keep the fireplace but if you wanted to get some extra use out of it, the actual fireplace part could be cute storage! Either put some shelving in and it’s a book shelf, or just a big basket with toys or whatever.
Everything looked better. BUT that granite mantel should of left, it would been a good contrast to the other white you went with. Granite will never go out of style and them veins in it. BOY O BOY!
‘Harth’ don’t pronounce the e in Hearth. I’ve heard other UA-camrs pronounce it the same as you. A small foam roller would have made the task so much easier for you. As another commenter stated, I think the internal bricks in the fire would be best either white or black. The transformation made such a difference!
Amazing transformation! You could put a bunch of led candles in the fireplace this winter for a cozy, warm look.
Looks good! You should paint the inside of the fireplace black too and put those fake wood logs as decoration or different height pillar candles, which might be better because if you get the LED ones you can turn them on and make the room all cozy looking.
Was just going to comment that when I saw your comment totally agree
You go girl, looks amazing! I would fill the inside of the fireplace with pieces of wood to keep beloved toddlers and Bucky from crawling inside, and it would look like art. You're happy, Bucky is happy, and the room looks great. Love your videos!
You did an awesome job and it looks amazing. And all with a toddler hanging around and being very pregnant! Women really are superheroes!
Amazing transformation! Your house doesn't look 60's anymore. Great job! Can't wait to see more 😊😍
I just saw some Pinterest posts where they built bookshelves in the non-working fireplaces and, of course, put other decorative pieces in there. It looked great! Clever use of space.

Add a square basket of cones etc inside fireplace or an actual fire grate with cones n fairy lights.
I love seeing your two “helpers”!
Crazy what paint can do. It turned out amazing. Cant wait to see what’s next ❤
I agree-paint the inside of fireplace black as well! Then it’s a pallet for you to place lanterns or flowers, etc. Great job! Beautiful!
Wow
All this with a Baby inside & a baby outside 🥰
The fireplace would look so nice as a small indoor garden some green plants a couple lanterns , just an idea that would dress it up for the time being it looks really nice now with the paint !!!
So beautiful! I agree- your space does give Studio McGee vibes😊
I LOVE THAT THE BRIKE ON BOTTOM AT THE FIRE PLACE WAS LEAVE IT NATURAL 🙂
Looking good. Can’t wait to see it all done & meet the new baby.
Amazing. From old and work out to fresh and new. Beautiful. Inspiring.
This turned out great Allison. My parents have a similar set up at their house. They painted the inside black and put some candles in there. It looks really nice. I put some birch logs in mine that I bought off Amazon.
What a great transformation! Painting did make all the difference 😊
Love the fireplace!! It is big but looks great for now, very Studio McGee!
You made that space so lively. ❤❤❤.
I love everything you've done. It looks so different with the paint.
It looks great! I’m so impressed you did that with a toddler and a dog.
Good morning 🙏
The chimney looks great. You did a wonderful job 😊
Wow Allison!! I admire and appreciate all your hard work and these beautiful transformations. Extremely inspiring and I too believe that a little paint goes a long way in transforming spaces! Can’t wait to see more ❤
I really like the fireplace! Great job!
Wow you tranaformed that fireplace!! Your vision is superb when it comes to
Redoing spaces like these! And omg the belly is growing 😊
Looks way better...looks so much cleaner
I was shocked by the transformation! Dang! It looks so nice! I'd probably put a bunch of candles in the fireplace, all different sizes. I don't know how practical that would be with Bucky and Madeline tho, lol. Can't wait for the next video!!

Instancabile!! Bravissima!🤩😍

Looks so much better!
Just painting makes a big improvement

Alison I love the fire place any why you have it but the white is the best you are amazing as always 🎉
It looks great, you did a lovely job. Xx
Looks so nice , great job❤
Awesome job, looks great❤❤
Looks awesome ❤❤❤
What a difference!
It looks fantastic! You did a great job. I am enjoying following along with all of your renovations.
I need a new video!! Lol i miss when you dont have a video up every week... im addicted to them lol
Love the transformation of this space!
Beautiful transformation
I love the fireplace now!!!!! So beautiful!!!!!
It really is amazing what some paint can do. It looks great!!

Would you provide a link or the official name, sounds like what I’m looking for?

Looks so great, keep going💕😎👍✌🏻

Very nice! 👍🏻
It looks so good! So clean and full of light. I love it. You’re home is looking so nice. I always look forward to your videos! ❤️👏🏻👏🏻
Just love the way it turned out perfect ❤😊
Very nice !

Just a suggestion. Quite a few people paint the inside of their fireplace black. It looks great.
I actually liked the hearth stone. 😂 Next time try a gel stain it covers a little more and you can leave it on instead of wiping it back.
I was watching this (great stuff by the way) and had an idea, why not paint the bricks of the fireplace you did on this one in the darker shade from the dining space, and the flat tiles on the bottom black like the shelf to make it a feature? Another fantastic job and it looks so clean and bright. I hope Bucky has forgiven you by now. 😉
I Love it 😍😍😍
Beautiful! Are you putting some logs or decor under it?
I’m planning on leaving it empty! It’d be an easy place for my toddler to reach so anything in there would be fair game for her & I like that it looks like it could be a real functional fireplace
My granddaughter is watching Mrs Rachel as I watch this video lol
I agree with those who suggested painting the inside of the fireplace black. Candles or logs would stand out
Looks nice! Just wondering if you've seen people do "faux wood" furniture makeovers with paint and dark glaze. You could do the same thing for the mantle, if you care enough at this point lol.
It looks fantastic! I would paint the inside since you won’t be using it as a fireplace.
You can add wood filler to hide the lines in the wood panels.
I find the yellow bricks inside the fireplace distracting. If no one else has suggested it, why not paint them too? It looks so clean and amazing.
I agree.👌🏼
I think it’s the dark grout in between. If a little more uniform I think it would look better.
I actually love the original brick on the inside! I think it adds a lot of character to the room!
I think it could be nice in black. Or maybe add a flower or something inside to fill the space. (Personality I preferred original brick but it's not my home and this looks nice too. Love the makeover videos)

HELLO! 🤗 ALLISON
I about guarantee that little desk area was once the front hall closet.
Would be cool if you salvaged the brick when you knock it down and make a smaller foux fireplace on another wall.
😍
Some plants or a stack of wood in the fireplace would be nice.
👍😘
Just leaving a note to see if you are ok. Miss you
‘Harth’ don’t pronounce the e in Hearth. I’ve heard other UA-camrs pronounce it the same as you. A small foam roller would have made the task so much easier for you. As another commenter stated, I think the internal bricks in the fire would be best either white or black. The transformation made such a difference!
The foam rollers wouldn’t reach into the grout in between the bricks! You really have to use a brush to get into all the nooks & crannies
👏👏👏👏👏😍🇧🇷
👍❤👏🙂🙏
The word you were looking for was harth.
Cuántos niños 🧒 tienes ya siempre te veo embarazada ❤
It’s pronounced like heart but with a ‘th’ at the end! You’re just going with a herth sound.
ALLISON! I'M VERY CONCERNED THAT YOU DON'T USED MASK WHEN YOU PAINTED 😔
