On weekends every other train out of O'Hare ends at UIC because there is more ridership between there and O'Hare than the entire route. On weekdays select trains also end at UIC for the same reason.
UIC stands for University of Illinois at Chicago, which is on the route towards Forest Park but has a track to turn trains around after the platform. On weekends (when I filmed this) every other train that departs O’Hare short turns at UIC instead of doing the whole route to Forest Park.
@@MetxsightseerRailfan University of Illinois at Chicago is the main attraction since you can see it from the platform, but the station is called Halsted
Some other terminals also have departure bells. Harlem on the Green Line and Midway on the Orange Line do, along with a green light that lights up by the operator on the departure track when the bell dings.

This is a really good vid!
Thank you!
Good job, you caught 2601-2602 (the first cars in the 2600 series) 2:13
Nice catch, though I'm more happy that I got some pictures of car 3200 on an earlier fan trip.
@@CrazyAboutA380s Well, late reply, very true. What camera do you use BTW?
Currently a Sony FDR-AX100.
@@CrazyAboutA380s I know you aren’t CTA but do you know what trains the green line use cause they’re different from the blue line
The Green Line currently uses the 5000 Series.
Cool footage
Thank you!
cool CTA and planes my favorite!! just earned a sub
I saw a Breeze Airways flight from Chicago O’hare to Chicago Midway. It’s faster than going around using CTA
Loooooove your video.
Thanks!
I love CTA.
Wonder how much that spirit of Chicago train operates
The CTA seems to like putting it in service during certain Cubs games. If you're in the Chicago area, that might be your best chance of riding it.
cool the USA SPECIAL
Why does some trains stop in UIC? I recently came back from a trip in chicago

0:02 what was that noise, a bell?
Its part of the door chime
It's the departure signal for the train operators, along with the buzzer sounding before it.
@@CrazyAboutA380s oh I'm just curious bc our subway in nyc has a bell too when departing the terminal.
