My favorite game to play during my childhood, especially in October. I always imagined the game took place on Halloween night and you were trapped for the entire night in this haunted house. Love it!
Definitely. The I Spy series is certainly in the upper echelons of edutainment media due in part to the visible amount of detail put into it. From the atmospheric scenes to the charming riddles, the passion from the developers is absolutely evident. It's no wonder why this game (and the series as a whole) has carved out such a nostalgic niche for anyone who grew up in the 2000s.

@@pokemonpreadythepokemonmaniac shame the I spy franchise ended in 2015. I kinda wish more of these games still exist. well, at least the Can you see what I See franchise is still continue a similar path as I Spy.
Definitely, I remember replaying this game and this other I spy game themed around pirates back as a small child.
I was such a wimp as a kid that I played this once, got so terrified that I hid the disk and refused to even look at it ever again. Safe to say it is super weird watching this now as a full grown adult

When I first played this game, I couldn’t figure out what “a face with no eyes” and “a foot with no toes” are until I realized that they weren’t actual body parts.
Hence why the word "No" was part of the riddles.

God this game used to freak me out in the best way. I still come back and play this game from time to time. I remember bringing it to high school to show my mate who had never played it but loves the books. We’d sneak onto my laptop and play it in class and it was awesome. I wish I could recapture the feeling of playing this for the very, very first time; such a special feeling, man. Always loved the ghost lab part. Nothing made you feel accomplished like these games.

The most kid friendly version of Resident Evil
I can’t even count how many times I played this as a kid, I loved this one, and I loved ISpy Fantasy! Everything is so nostalgic, and it’s so comforting to watch this and feel as if I’m playing again. The detail in this game remains phenomenal. From the sound effects to the visuals, and of course, Skelly‘s voice, what an absolutely perfect casting for that. Truly a brilliant game!

Even though I was born in 2003 and this game came out in like 1999, I still had tons of fun playing it with my brother.

oh yeah, i remember hearing like noise of like laughing children or happy music as bgm for I Spy Fun House (i think that's the name) and now that i mention it, it feels weird not hearing any background noise while watching this
@@jayayeonetoo3335 Yeah, when I played the later I Spy games for the first time, I heard background noises that match the scenery of the I Spy riddles. It was a nice feature. In Spooky Mansion Deluxe, there are creepy noises like owls howling, wood creaking, and wind blowing.

Thanks. There were certainly moments in my retro-PC projects where I misstepped (from choosing an incorrect location in my Carmen Sandiego walkthroughs to stalling on puzzles in the more adventure-based games which I have done), but I am cumulatively satisfied with the brevity of each final megaedit.
Why do I only remember the part with making the ghosts? I swear that was the only way out.
That’s the only ending available for the original 1999 version of the game. The 2004 deluxe edition expanded upon the original game considerably.
@@Icicle_158 Right. There are two more ways to escape before the ghost stuff. First was escaping via the secret room, and then you had to shrink down to escape via a mouse hole.

Essentially, Spooky Mansion '99 has you escape the house via the ghost method only. Mystery Bins and Creepy Collections were optional minigames. Though it only has two riddles per scene, it plays them successively. You can play the Ghost Machine minigame at any point in the game, not only during the final chapter of the deluxe version. This part of the game serves more as an entertainment portion instead of something relevant to the plot. There even was a chance to create your own I Spy riddles if you clicked on the desk in the mansion's library.
Spooky Mansion '04, meanwhile, overhauls the graphics and the story. The Window, Fireplace, Kitchen, and Study scenes were completely redone. There are three distinct methods to escape the house, shown through the Secret Message, Shrinking Soup, and Ghost Machine routes. There are three riddles per scene, although they are divided between the three chapters. The player even gets the chance to investigate the basement lab as a riddle location.

I've played the first one.. And it was amazing! A bit sad to say goodbye when I replayed it.
But lately, I though about a sequel.. There:
You come back, years later! The Spooky Mansion is a bit damaged. When you arrive, the portal creaks open slowly and the music play with an old (and creepy) tone..
Skelly recognises you! She's really happy to see you again, but also very tired of her loneliness.
Then she tells you the real problem.
Some bad peoples want to destroy her house to build an amusement park! There's no way you'll let that happen!
So you must help Skelly to repair her house, set up really scary traps, and play the monster to get rid of those bad guys!
(A bit like Machia Villain, but you play as first person, and it's a bit more strategic on how to scare certain type of peoples..)
Then, you won! The Spooky House is safe for now!
But Skelly doesn't want you to leave her alone again... So you decide to move into the Spooky Mansion to live here with her.
And if it's a bit too "rainbow & unicorn", you can also find the lost dead body of Skelly, and bury her to break her free!
So developers, if you pass by, you know there's a game that (I assume) many people would buy! ;)

What is the operating system of the laptop? Compatibility is a bit of a fuzzy subject for me, but the disc states that Windows operating systems from 95 to XP should work.

This was the version I had, but I didn't realize it until after I watched an entire longplay of the original by finding out it didn't have the secret study room (which I was very proud of being the first one in my kindergarten class to find in this game [Yeah my kindergarten had this game as well as iSpy School and some other games on PC, but this was everyone's favorite. I later bought it myself but now I can't find it so longplays are my only option at the moment])
