Like, say a song is from the pop genre, but u wouldn’t expect to sound like a song from the early 2000’s, same with this I think, the city pop ppl wanted was the old one, if I put it like that, but yeah I agree what bbc gave could’ve easily be named an acoustic remix or some, bc it didn’t have the vintage approach that ppl wanted, also yeah this remix is better but it’s not city pop, it’s funk, there’s a great difference. City pop, specially the vintage one, has more of a less electronic sound and a more natural-sounding percussion, as if ur hearing the drums being played live if I can say it like that, instead of sounding like it is electro but it’s good nonetheless
